I can't find any video of Desiree holding Terri's hand. Can someone please post this link?
(Please forgive if someone posted it within the last minute.)

LE says, “This campus is absolutely safe and no one is at risk.”

To me this says that they either have a dozen snipers on the roof across the street (joking) OR LE knows exactly who did this and they are watching this person 24/7.

The case of the little girl taken from the school in St. Louis ---I believe the door hadn't latched correctly. Here, with the bringing in of projects from cars, etc, someone could have done something as simple as prop a door open a bit with a rock. It's a thought.

Am I missing somehthing here.

I thought the door we are speaking of is by Kyrons class room. As far as I can see it does not open into the parking lot. Why would a vehicle drive up on the grass?

IMO, Kyron left out that door to meet someone in the parking lot.

First post here -- I'm a teacher at a very small private school of about 200 students. Whenever we have special events, almost all the parents show up, everybody knows and likes everybody, etc. Let's say we're having a half-day event, like our recent kickball tournament. What if I didn't see Child A leave, but another parents says, "Oh, Child A just left with Mom." I would say, "Okay" and then probably never think of it again, even if their bookbag or jacket was still there. I would assume they left it and will get it tomorrow.

Perhaps the teacher was told, "Oh, I just saw Kyron leave with his Stepmom" even though that wasn't true. That's the only reason she might have marked him absent and then never thought of it again.

I think the teacher made an honest mistake, and more than likely feels completely devastated. The only good thing about this case is that hopefully it will make teachers and schools everywhere more aware about what is going on in their schools.

I know that from now on, if I don't see something with my own eyes, I will call and find out for myself!

I can see how a mistake or misunderstanding can happen -- we are human. And although I do not know the teacher personally, I would think she does feel horribly about the situation, as everyone does.

As someone posted earlier, we do not know if the school made a call to the SM (and possibly only reached a voicemail) nor do we know if the school was even aware of the situation until they were contacted by the parents after he didn't get off the school bus. Who knows.. neither here nor there. My post wasn't to bash this particular teacher or the school policies, it was me thinking/typing outloud to Twizzrgirl's post -- something that made me also go "Hmmm.." many times. Would I have handled the situation differently? Yes, but I am also considered by many as an over-protective mother of four... who would have handled it exactly as you stated.."If I don't see somthing with my own eyes, I will call and find out for myself." AGAIN.. JMO.

Actually there is a more original source plus the video of Tanner which can be found in BeanE's sig (and others). I should also say that I am really hating all the pseudo-news sites/articles/blogs showing up recently when searching for news on anything. I hate that.

(gentle snippage)

Thank you for that.
I hope this isn't too off-topic, but I think it's important here when we're sourcing our information.

We need to realize that the pseudos use people to merely **rewrite** the work of professional journalists. They get paid "by the click", so it's in their interest to sensationalize things, and I'm increasingly see sheer untruths in their headlines. All so someone can earn a buck (and I mean $1 a day).

Last week, an ex****** headline stated that Stacy Peterson's remains had been found. Then they added a question mark. In another case, the ex****** couldn't even spell the name of a town they were trying to report on.

Here's an article from Time Magazine that explains how it works.
What happens when the pseudos drive the professionals out of business?
(end of soapbox)

Oh man...didn't want to see that post. :(

I'm still holding the hope Kyron is still ALIVE over here !!!

Good point. She could have told someone else, and that person dropped the ball.
[/B]

But we are assuming the teacher did not become alarmed. She may have been alarmed and reported to the office. What transpired after he was reported absent/missing has not been reported.

For us posters coming in late - whats the deal with the area being searched today ? walking distance from school ? someone lives near there ?

This made me think of other people who could be there--a lawn care service. Wonder if they have white trucks?

...and had been living thousands of miles away from home for many years, I took a course (professional development type) at a local community college. It was only one night a week. One time I flew home to see my mother for a week, and missed a class. When I returned to class the following week, I was asked to see the school secretary- or whoever.

She told me that I had to have a note from someone since I had missed class the previous week. I started to laugh, but she was serious. I said, who is supposed to write this note- my mother? Eventually I was able to persuade her that I was a full-fledged adult who was resposible for my own whereabouts, and she let it go. I can only assume that the other students- many of them my age or older, but plenty who were 18 or so- had to get notes from their mommies when they missed class.

They are diving in the river that Sauvie Island is in. It's the giant river that makes up much of the Oregon/WA border. It lies east/north of Hwy 30. So it is just a 15 minute drive from Kyron's school.

The teacher in question is still in the classroom as far as we know. If she is such an incompetent, uncaring, frazzled mess as some are suggesting, I think she'd be on leave or fired. We have no idea what she was told, when she took roll, if she did or didn't try to call SM or notify the office. Why isn't she off limits for casting blame and insinuations? Maybe, just maybe she is also a victim.

See, I think the teacher is a victim as well. I am not blaming her. I really think there was a series of miscommunications, a general feeling of safety in the school, and end of year/special event craziness.

And this is why I think she's still in the classroom - b/c it wasn't just her. It was the general atmosphere of the school with no sign in for the expo, the lack of phone calls home, and people coming in and out. Someone knew this. I don't know if he targeted Kyron or just happened upon him while hunting, but I think he knew there was a good chance that day.

I wonder if the bridge at Sauvie Island has a camera? Probably not but it would be nice.

Would be extremely surprised if SM (Terri) were a POI. I imagine that she has thoroughly accounted for her whereabouts and the LE are satisfied. ~~respectfully snipped~~

I have no idea why so many think step-mom would be a murderer! She is a licensed teacher who is now a 'stay at home mom' because she has a little l8mo daughter and a 7yo son she has cared for since birth. SM is married to Kyron's dad, who is an engineer and works at Intel. They seem extremely organized, intelligent, value education, and foster their child's enthusiasm for learning and participation in school. S-mom donates some of her experience as a teacher to the children in Kyron's class.

As far as I know, there haven't been reports to DFS, many sick days from school, truancy, bad behavior reported for Kyron, or any of the usual red flags we would see. I'm at a loss as to why s-mom is so suspicious and why so many think she is a perfect psychopath. I find it scary.

Also, Kyron has a s-dad who is a homicide detective - research shows that children of LE are almost always more careful and suspicious of strangers and their surroundings. I highly doubt this child ever once wandered off aimlessly. My own thinking is that someone Kyron knows is involved and in my opinion, it isn't his s-mom. all my opinions and stuff like that.

If this is not an appropriate question, please remove, mods.
Was bio mom due to pick Kyron up later that evening, the day Kyron went missing for a weekend visitation?

I'm thinking someone's cell phone ping led them there. I could be wrong....
