“OPB’s Think Out Loud talked Thursday with David Fry and Sandy Anderson, two of the remaining militants inside the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.

They offered an inside account of the negotiations taking place with the FBI, and the growing anxiety among the militants as tension mounts to make their next step.”​

“The option is you go out there and they get you and it’s a felony crime and it’s a prison sentence,” Fry told Think Out Loud host Dave Miller. “A lot of us are scared of that option.”

But firing weapons at federal law enforcement officers is still on the table.

“We’re not planning on using any guns. Like I said, we [want] to go home,” he said. “But if they want to attack us then we got to defend ourselves.”

One of the remaining occupiers is on camera saying "If they (FBI) get in your way - kill 'em!"

I don't think they want to be shot - I think they just want to talk tough. Eventually they're going to give in. They were stupid to sign up for this and now think they should be allowed to leave freely even though they broke the law. No way they didn't know they were breaking any laws. Come on.

In his latest video he said it was a peaceful revolution (right) and if he's convicted of a felony he'll lose his guns and right to vote. Poor thing. Here's the latest timeline from OregonLive. The news conference at 5:30 is mentioned. The situation is not resolved. I wonder what the medical vans are all about.

UPDATE 4:10 p.m. Thursday: Law enforcement officials announced that the "situation" has not been resolved and that the refuge remains closed. Though roadblocks have been removed, the action was for the convenience of locals, the announcement said. Police also warned that any cars parked on the highways near the refuge must be removed or risk being towed.
UPDATE 3:55 p.m. Thursday: Medical vans arrive at the refuge.
