School bus driver from Oregon City [OR] accused of possessing child


"An Oregon City man was charged Thursday with possessing child after a group that fights child exploitation alerted authorities.

Neil Bryan McKinney, 44, is accused of posting photos on the Internet of young boys engaging in sex.

The Oregon Attorney General's Office investigated McKinney's activities after receiving a tip in July from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children...."

I'm pleased. This is what's been missing from so many articles. Not only does this reporter, Michael Rollins, tell us about how McKinney was caught, but we are also provided some background info on McKinney. That is really helpful, IMO.

Looks like McKinney has connections with other bus drivers, including special ed bus drivers. That worries me more than anything.

Ya know what is weird? From finding alot of these perverts in the news and then finding their social networking sites alot of them have something in common.

They post photographs of themselves as kids. They use that as their default alot. Mind you I know alot of people who Facebook use pictures from when they were kids because you connect with childhood friends and all. However, it seems like a theme with pedophiles. I see his Myspace is his dog, but the FB isn't.

Man, I wish I was a criminal profiler and knew why they do this.

I found it a little odd that so many of his friends led to other friends that were school bus drivers. Maybe they're a group that hangs together but that doesn't seem to be true of other professions.

In this case, there looks to be someone to look after the dog. At least for now.

I understand that the judge went with the maximum but that sure doesn't sound like much when you listen carefully to the judge's words, does it? The fact that the man had daily contact and access to children makes my blood run cold. I hope the district provided some counseling and support for those kids. The school bus driver is a part of a child's daily experience, someone they (and their parents) are supposed to trust. I'm still worried about the other drivers this guy hung out with.
