Thanks! Maybe we should have a countdown clock here on board for Pressers and court hearings etc :D Makes it easy for all that are in other time zones.

This is what I'm saying. I've lived in this area since 1977 and it's just incredible that they happened to find what they did.

I think part of the point being made was the JWs know every tiny little back road there is in their area because of the preaching work they are involved in. I know from a personal standpoint that I have driven down back roads that look like they may not even be actual driveways they are so secluded. It is one reason we are so familiar with the towns in which we live. And in a situation like that of this case, I completely understand, from an inside perspective, how they are so familiar with the area they are searching.

*sigh*
"I know I won't be able to say thank you to every single person, but I'm going to try my best because they deserve a thanks," said Clint Heichel, Whitney's husband. "And that's why we have everyone here - to thank the community and give the community a hug, because they need that."

Heichel said his wife would have been humbled and overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from everyone.

"She would be so pleased," he said. "She loved people. She was just a ray of sunshine and, like I said, she was just smiling all the time."

I couldn't help but think of Whitney and her Family today. I attended a Funeral of a young person. Died from disease. I saw the pain and agony of her Husband and Family. It had been a long death bed vigil. I cant even begin to imagine when it's due to a crime so brutal and heinous. Heartbreaking :rose:

Oh...excuse me. I thought the Quick Reply function worked as well.

No problem...it takes awhile to learn how to maneuver around, sometimes.

To simply post a quick post, hit 'quick reply.'

To reply to a specific person's post, hit 'Quote'--it will repeat their post and the name of who posted it.

To reply to 2 or more people's posts, keep clicking the quotation marks icon ["] to the right of the 'quote' button as you read, and then when you get ready to post all your responses, click on 'Post Reply' and all those people's posts will show up with quote tags around them. Then you can just type your responses after each one.

Whitney Heichel: Man accused of killing her indicted on more charges

OREGON CITY -- The man accused of killing Whitney Heichel was indicted Friday afternoon on additional charges of kidnap, robbery and sodomy.

The hearing, during which Jonathan Holt appeared in court via a video feed, took only two minutes. Holt, whose court appointed attorney is Conor Thomas Huseby, will remain in jail

None of Heichel's family showed up for the hearing, which took place at the same time that an "open house" in her memory was going on at a Gresham Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall.

In a new indictment in Clackamas County, Holt was charged with six counts of aggravated murder, kidnapping, sex abuse and robbery.

The hearing lasted roughly two minutes and Holt answered “yes” when asked if his birthday was correctly stated.

Holt was ordered to be held without bail.

Thank you for this timeline, PoirotryInMotion -- you and I have similar methods because my timeline matches yours nearly exactly.

The only thing I see as incorrect is that the confirmed 9:14am Shell station is actually at 257th and Stark (which on the Internet is considered a Troutdale location – however it is not a truck stop). If you use Google Earth, it's 45°31'9.83"N 122°23'52.97"W or 25737 SE Stark St Troutdale. The “truck stop” gas stations are located along I-84 to service trucks on Portland-Gorge routes. Troutdale is a key place to gas-up before heading into the Gorge.

9:14 am - LE verified use of ATM at Troutdale Shell Station, along with grainy photo of car and employee description of WH in passenger seat and nervous male driver who only wanted a little gas. (Source: see above)

I also got the Shell details wrong originally -- but a fellow sleuther corrected my info. So:

  • Shell station 257th& Stark – 9:14am & ATM used (confirmed by LE)
  • Troutdale truck stop unknown location – mentioned on WH missing person poster, timeframe within about 16 minutes after Shell station according to original reports by Clint Heichel who said 2 or 3 transactions at gas stations about 8 minutes apart consecutively (not confirmed by LE)

The Troutdale station is mentioned on the missing persons poster: "A family member said several transactions were made on Heichel's debit card, including at ATM machines and 3 different gas stations. They said that gas station attendants at one of those locations, a truck stop in Troutdale, remembered seeing her SUV and said Heichel as sitting in the passenger seat with a man driving. They said that the man was acting suspicious and hurried, buying only a small amount of gas."

Police investigators said they watched the man accused of murdering Whitney Heichel try to hide two handguns before confessing to detectives that he killed Heichel, according to court documents released on Friday afternoon.

The court documents also say that Jonathan Holt told investigators where he dumped Heichel’s body and also that he admitted to having child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.

In an affidavit to get a search warrant, investigators said they were following Jonathan Holt on October 19; three days after Heichel first disappeared. During the course of that day, they followed Holt to his job at a company called Canteen Vending in North Portland.

While in the Canteen parking lot, officers said they saw Holt “walk away from his vehicle back towards the southeast corner of the business. Jonathan Holt was seen standing up against the wall that faces N. Lagoon Avenue. Jonathan Holt was seen standing there for a moment and Sergeant Kubic felt like it appeared as if Jonathan Holt might be dropping something in the shrubbery along the wall of the business.”

Re: the discussion around how the family/friends/community searchers were able to find so much of the evidence:

It was reported by the local tv stations early in Whitney's disappearance (maybe Wednesday morning?) that the Ritmiller/Heichel families had hired a private investigator.

Because of that fact I've just assumed that the PI was coordinating the private search efforts and possibly was working with LE on tips that had been called in.

I think someone had to have heard those gunshots and called in to the tip line. This story was on the news so fast last Tuesday, once she was reported missing, that it would have been fresh in a person's memory if they lived in that area and heard something.

Just my opinion of course.
