I haven't even read the pdf yet (too busy tonight catching up on emails; have to hit the hay now). But have been convinced from the beginning he did not act alone. The two guns makes that even more probable to me. (What murderer arms himself with two guns to kill his unarmed victim?)

If I read in the pdf tomorrow that she was shot with bullets from two different guns that will seal the deal for me.

BBM but if you get this in time, don't read it before bed. Seriously. It's been freaking me out ever since it got dark here and I haven't even attempted to sleep yet.

Are y'all able to view the entire PDF? I can't get all the pages to load, like page numbers 9, 10, 11, 12 of the search warrant affidavit. Although I can see some black lines which looks like areas where text may have been redacted.

Just me?

I was able to read all 44 pages.

Did you give it a few minutes to load? It may be slow if a lot of people are linking to it.

If you still can't get it, private message me and I'll email you a copy.
I have it saved to my documents.

Thank you for saving it! I got all 44 to load. I couldn't read them all, but not due to technical issues. It took quite awhile to load for me. It worked after I left it for about 10-15 minutes.

Lol, yeah...like I need anything else to keep me awake at night, anyway. ;) Definitely saving it for morning, having read the clips on here. Thanks for the warning.

What do you think the "sound department" stuff is about? (From the pdf, page 6).

That is confusing to me, also. I'm hoping someone here will be able to tell us what that is.

"I also seized a miscellaneous piece of paper that was titled 'Sound Department' that had the names J. Holt and C. Heichel written on it."

Yeah... there's a shocker right? (hopefully it's obvious I'm being sarcastic)

Same as that evil monster who drowned her kids. "Blacks took my car!" Now it's "Blacks robbed me!" from satan jr. Sometimes I wish I God made me a different color.

Unless I'm reading it wrong I think he stole Clint's phone, not Whitney's. Clint probably got a new phone by the time this horror happened.

According to the report:
JH told the detectives during the Oct 19th "interview", that he stole an iphone from CH's bedroom dresser.
It was during the time he and his wife (AH) had a key to the Heichel's apartment - during the time they watered
the Heichel's plants for them (when C & W went camping in August).

JH told the detectives that he put a new sim card into the iphone and then used it as his own.

Detectives then asked CH if he had an old iphone 3G and he said yes, in his dresser.
He went home and checked to see if it were still there.

It was not.

Hi everybody, I've never posted before but I've been following this case since the beginning. Very sad stuff here and I also:

I can't help but wonder if JH became so obsessed with Whitney after seeing something on that iphone or while in their home on their computer.

Also interesting that he used AH's computer, I didn't see anything pertaining to if she knew about the 🤬🤬🤬🤬 or not. He may keep everything on those hard drives. I feel much more empathetic towards her after reading.

How interesting (and terribly sad) of a read it was...so many questions answered.

Welcome to Websleuths. :seeya:
This certainly is an interesting case to begin.

IIRC, detectives discovered that Holt purchased one of the guns in June and he stole CH's iphone in August.

You may be right, but I tend to think he's been thinking about doing something to Whitney (or someone else?) for quite awhile.

And I don't think this is his first assault. Just the first time he got caught.

Welcome! Thank you for your input. I find your thoughts on this very intriguing. I just found out about the stolen iphone tonight and you've given me lots to think about.:goodpost:

Holy cannoli... have spent the past couple of days trying to catch up on JR case, and just checked local news and am reading through the PDF file.

O.M.G.

So not only was he apparently a complete and total racist creeper, but he had a kiddie 🤬🤬🤬🤬 problem, too??!??

Thank goodness they were onto him straight away. I'm really worried that he was doing a whole lot more creeping, especially on that day last year where he disappeared. :(

I have always believed there was another person involved in the cover up of his crime (but not in the homicide). Given all the new information tonight, I am completely convinced now.

Given the proximity of events later in the morning, I believe the general area around 257th Avenue between Stark and Halsey is key. Somewhere around the cell tower at Mount Hood CC. If Holt only needed gas and it was the lack of gas that prevented him from going directly from Roslyn Lake up to Larch, he'd have no reason to travel so far North all the way to I-84 to get gas -- because there are gas stations located closer to Dodge Park and to Larch. He needed someone's help. I believe with this person is where he spent Tuesday afternoon before being spotted walking home.
Do you think this person was driving the white car in the Walmart parking lot?

http://media.oregonlive.com/gresham_impact/other/holt1.pdf

The surveillance camera shows
1122 hours - a white utility vehicle enters the parking lot
1138 hours - Whitney Heichel's black Ford Explorer backs into the place where it was eventually found
1139 - the white utility vehicle leaves the parking lot

Well my husband is in the "sound department" in our local cong and works the controls for the sound on occasion, the speakers, there are various aspects of it (mic adjusters for the stage, roving mics for audience participation , music controls, Etc etc) and are delegated out. My husband also gets a "list" of what day he is assigned to help. Of course it is a list with about 20 other names, not just 2 as in the affidavit here...so that is the Only insight I can offer. Perhaps the report doesn't clarify that there were more than those two names?

That is confusing to me, also. I'm hoping someone here will be able to tell us what that is.

"I also seized a miscellaneous piece of paper that was titled 'Sound Department' that had the names J. Holt and C. Heichel written on it."

I agree with Melancholy. It was very likely a schedule for their congregation's Sound Department, and the report only noted the two significant names on the list.

Geez....making my way thru the PDF.....I now know more than I ever wanted to know about downloading, viewing, saving and sharing 🤬🤬🤬🤬/child 🤬🤬🤬🤬! I had no clue.....

That pdf file surely needs a strong stomach! :what: God what a creep!

"I also seized a miscellaneous piece of paper that was titled 'Sound Department' that had the names J. Holt and C. Heichel written on it."

Being obsessed with her, maybe he kept track of when Whitney had been assigned to work in the sound department so he could work on those days too.

First off welcome to WS! You're doing great 'learning the ropes' so to speak.

I hope this isn't a repeat but I definitely remember "abuse of a corpse" being mentioned early on. A few of us, myself included, were thinking necrophelia or something. IIRC (If I Recall Correctly) "abuse of a corpse" could be something as small as moving her body from one place to another or taking clothing off of her after she died. It didn't necessarily mean anything particularly sinister... or well, not any more sinister than the horrible crime that preceded the "abuse."

I hope I'm not mixing this up with Jessica Ridgeway's case, but I don't think so because I remember reading it before Jessica's alleged killer was found and arrested. If someone hasn't already, I'll see if I can find the previous posts on it.

Maybe "Abuse of a corpse" refers to shooting her again after she was already dead? In the autopsy it would be visible where (in the body) she was shot first and which shot killed her. If the shot in the head came first it might be considered abuse of a corpse if he emptied the gun into her afterwards. Speculating only.

Yes, I flagged about half an hour ago but am guessing it takes a number of people flagging to get their attention. (It's a 'flag and block' option.) Keep after it.

This idiot and his stupid and incredibly insensitive remarks are still on there. :furious:

What a heartbreaking case! I feel so sad for his wife too. I'm sure she must have suffered in this marriage long before this event. He must have been lying to her a lot. Wonder what he told her where he got the iphone he stole from WH.

Another lie: he initially told detectives that all his valuable posessions including phone, laptop had been stolen, yet when they searched his home they found a laptop.

To me it looks like he snapped. Fanatasized about raping in general and Whitney in particular for a long time, and finally decided to do it. When she fought him he freaked out. MOO After that he seemed to have lost it completely. His behaviour is simply erratic. I wonder how his wife perceived him the days prior to his arrest. She must have had her thoughts. Did she know he was obsessed with Whitney?

Kind of funny how he tried to dispose of evidence, first on the day of the murder, scattering her things throughout the city, "cleaning" the car,and then ditching the gun right in front of the police station? If this didn't involve the murder of a person I would want to laugh. Jeez is he dumb.

I feel like I might have missed a detail. What did you mean when you said, "what else may have been missing from their Apt. other than her phone" was something found to be missing from WH and CH's apartment?

No i was just wondering aloud. The Affadavit states the phone he stole was Clints and in a drawer. So he must have been really going thru things. I just had this horrid feeling he may have taken some of Whitneys "personal items". Just speculating.
