Perumal is a medical doctor!

I guess he would be severely reprimanded by the medical society if he started shooting his mouth off

As for the other witnesses - i guess they don't want to be in contempt of court.

Maybe Dr Stipp already has his book on ice :-)

Haha I totally agree but Perumal being a medical doctor 'normally' doesn't stop the media IMO :)

A close source has said...........................
A friend of Dr.Perumal who doesn't want to be named.....................

You get my drift lol.
There has been none of the media innuendoes or 'selling newspaper' crap involving the ear/eye/close proximity witnesses which I find odd !

Brown paper bag full of money anyone?
Unless of course they are bound by the court to keep schtum?
Anyone know?

And why has frank not surfaced yet?
Please don't say the concrete boots were too heavy that would be OTT IMO :)

I am wondering if all the stuff will start to come out after the SCA have delivered their judgment.

I also wonder if the reputation of the Pistorius family as being litigious and loaded has some bearing on the lack of stories. ??? IDK not being a lawyer.

RSBMAaah the long awaited bed count... at last!!--------(???)I'm confused, however, by the last sentence above.--------Given that the last day of current CT Term ends Mon. Nov. 30th, how could Judgment get delayed to the first week of Dec.? tia

I was giving the SCA a bit of latitude here. The Registrar told KM that we will get a day’s notice and the ruling will “definitely” be this year (“this week or the next”). As Monday is the last day of term we should learn today if it will be handed down on Monday. If not … your guess is as good as mine.

The Court Roll shows no matters listed from 25-30 November. The dates are listed but no matters. Perhaps from 25 November to the end of term they just produce judgments. We’re talking South African time here so I don’t think we can assume anything and nothing would surprise me.

ETA I've just noticed that although there were no matters listed for 25 November, two judgments were handed down on that date, but nothing since. They're going to keep us guessing until the bitter end.

BIB - doesn't that smack of admitting to wanting another bite of the cherry? How can they convincingly argue that something is DE when they don't actually believe DE was committed?

This is a complete non-issue

In law one routinely argues in the alternative

e.g. a case where both murder and manslaughter are possible verdicts

It'a all about the application of legal standards to the facts - not about what the state believes

Hanging out here!

Meanwhile "back at the ranch" OP is whistling to himself, "I'll be home for Christmas".

Maybe he will turn on the radio and it will be playing 'Jailhouse Rock' or 'Folsom Prison Blues'.

Doesn't look like we're going to get any news today.

I'm confused. Barry Bateman said there'd definitely be a ruling by the end of the year, but if they stand down on Monday, then.....?

Who knew people would be hanging on the Court registrar!

I wouldn't panic.

It will come out when they feel like it.

The registrar has no control over the Supreme Court Justices so if they are running late then they make the registrar look silly

Thanks for the clarification.------------------I, too, have been checking on the Court Roll calendar hoping it would be updated showing Judgment dates scheduled in those mysterious "blank" last four days of Nov., only to find no additions since site last updated Oct. 8th!---------------RE: Your ETA---Sooo, I'm VERY encouraged to learn that a couple of new Judgments have been handed down on Nov. 25th in spite of them not appearing on website Calendar for Nov.----Ty----

Yes, and 9 more judgments handed down yesterday. It should be next week! I think they can still hand down judgement after term ends.

Imho the SCA Court Registrar is probably the best "go to" person right now in order to find out when we can expect the Judgment to take place.--------Most likely it's the Registrar who gets notified by the Judges when they're ready to give their Verdict and then it's up to the Registrar to schedule a time/date suitable to five judges, two attorney, Etc.--------If Registrar wasn't already working on scheduling a Court Date when approached by Reporter KN, I don't believe s/he would have said "definitely" before end of year.

I doubt the Pistorius family finds any humour in this entire tragedy.

That's a bit sanctimonius and misplaced.

Judi is not suggesting they do find it funny. Just highlighting that everyone in that sinister family needs to watch themselves around a spoilt brat who reaches for a gun when someone uses an en suite bathroom.

The label 'sinister family ' is unfair and unfounded as far as I can see. Painting them as some kind of mafia organisation is perfect for a good story, but doesn't appear to be based on anything substantial.

They didn't ask to be thrust into the media spot light or to have to face public judgement and public comment over every facial reaction in court, or every tweet out of court. They have done what I think most families would do and have stood alongside their brother /nephew/son together, trying to support him through the whole process.
This must have been a horrendous experience for them but it seems that there is often little sympathy for the families of those who commit a crime. Of course the grieving family deserves more sympathy and consideration, but it doesn't have to be an either /or. IMO.

BIB - It's pretty sinister that OP's brother removed OP's phone from the crime scene and wiped it, not to mention Aimee taking it upon herself to remove Reeva's bag from the crime scene too. Any family that believes it's perfectly legitimate to remove evidence from a crime scene is sinister, IMO.

If they didn't believe their brother when he told them he had shot Reeva by accident and immediately thought he had murdered her then yes I would say it was sinister.
