My guess is that IF Cindy and George come to terms with the reality of Caylee being dead, that their next move is to blame her death on someone else, not Casey. Casey was framed, by - whoever, take your pick....Jesse, Zanny, anyone.

I don't think they are going to be willing to let Casey take the fall - as horrifying as that thought is. She will, regardless.

Caylee IS in a much better place now and with her Heavenly Father who truly loves her and will care for her the way a parent should. We love you sweet girl.

I think if they accept Caylee is dead, they will be all over Casey. If they aren't, that means I was wrong about why they have been acting the way they have.

That's my question as well. How can they dispute DNA? They didn't dispute DNA when it ruled out JG as Caylee's father, or did they?

I so don't want to be a know-it-all but there are different stages of DNA. The Anthonys are holding on to the hope that the hair they found is either Casey's or theirs or Lee's or even a living Caylee's. They all share the same DNA but not identical DNA.

The testing for the DNA is done in stages. First, they have to determine who it belongs to, Casey or Caylee would share the closest DNA obviously, and then they do further testing to determine whose it is definitively. Then, there is testing to determine whether it came from a live or decomposing body. It's a very exact science. There will be no disputing it.

The Anthonys know that the testing results are not complete - or they have not been provided the entire testing results - and so they are holding on to the hope that the hair belongs to one of them or an alive Caylee.

When a child's life is on the line, yes I would hope they would use pressure to get the facts, especially if the suspect tells one lie after another and it is proven that they are lies. I think OCSD is doing the job they need to do and staying within the limits and the laws they are bound by.

I also don't think they would allow anyone to believe that that baby is deceased unless it were true. That would be so cruel. They would come forward to deny any reports if they are incorrect. The fact that they haven't done that, tells me that she is deceased.

LE is giving Casey a chance to possibly reduce future charges against her. If she doesn't talk, then she will likely be facing a murder charge.

Great post! Exactly! Now, today's verification that IT IS Caylee is indisputable. And everyone here knows they have much more DNA evidence that they aren't releasing as they are reserving it for on a "need to know basis." And, apparently, we don't need to know yet! :)

"I want an apology from Sheriff Kevin Beary," Cindy Anthony said. http://www.wesh.com/news/17353349/detail.html

I believe that Cindy Anthony owes so many apologies . . . my prayers are with the Anthony family and the search for Caylee . . .

bummed-out totally!!!

I'm wondering could it have just been transfer,.. like a blanket with Caylee's hair could have been on it and transfered to the trunk?

Yes the hair could have trasfered from Caylee, onto a blanket, the blanket to the trunk. However, it is my understanding that they are able to determin that the hair did in fact come from a dead (not a living)person, it was not just regular strands of hair that will fall out normally from someone who is living. We all leave hair, I'm sure my bathroom has several samples of my hair, as my car would also, but not a one of them will test for being a hair that came out of someone who is dead since I am still living. The hair they tested shows through dna that it was Caylee's, it also shows that this hair came from someone who was dead.
I hope and pray this little baby somehow does know how much she is loved and God help the people responsible for this to be brought to justice!

My heart sank when I read this. I just cant come to terms with it. As silly as it sounds, I can see Cindy still saying Caylee is alive. I myself am STILL even after all this hoping something is overlooked or... anything, I dont know... I just cant seem to accept that shes really gone, I am so angry and hurting for Caylee and I probably wont be able to accept shes dead unless they find her body.

Yes i saw the report but reports are not always right and cops can and do say anything and use any kind of pressure they wish to get the suspect to confess. I don't know if there was any dead body in the trunk. Silly me, I want to see proof before I assume a little girl is dead.
I understand what you're saying, but generally when LE lies, it's done during the interrogation process and not for worldwide publication.

Even the Associated Press is reporting the story:
Investigators say 3 year old Caylee is dead

Reported by: Associated Press
Last Update: 8:28 pm

ORLANDO, FL -- Investigators in Orange County acknowledge that recent F-B-I labs confirm missing three-year-old Caylee Anthony is dead. The toddler's mother is being held in an Orlando jail on several charges, including child-neglect and filing a false report to law enforcement.

For the first time on record, investigators said lab tests confirm it's Caylee's decomposing body that was in the trunk of her mother's car. The lead investigator in the case says it was strands of hair that were found in the car that clinched the decision that Caylee's body was in the trunk, they suspected all along. Sergeant John Allen with the Orange County Sheriff's Office commented on the case. "The information we've gotten back from the lab that she was in the trunk of car and that she is dead is certainly something we take seriously."

Little Caylee is with God now, and I hope God gives her mother the strength to finally tell the truth.

but wasn't that confirmed today by LE - that the hair *was* in fact Caylee's?

That article also says Cindy is still denying it.
Poor Caylee, Rest in Peace.

I'm cautiously taking in all this new info about the DNA,.. but if i'm taking verbatim what the article "Investigator: Decomposing Body That Of Caylee Anthony" says...

"Evidence from a Central Florida body farm showed that an odor emitted from Casey Anthony's car's trunk was human decomposition."

"A lead investigator in the case told WESH 2's Bob Kealing that lab results indicated Caylee's dead body was in the trunk of that car. Sources also confirmed that a stain in the trunk was not what clinched the decision that Caylee was in the trunk, but it was the strands of hair that investigators suspected all along were Caylee's."

Transfer?

I agree with being cautious here.

This Orlando Sentinel piece (http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment_tv_tvblog/2008/08/second-tv-stati.html) carries the headline, “Second TV Station Reports that Caylee Anthony is Dead” stating WESH-Channel 2 joined WFTV-Channel 9 in reporting that the little girl is dead.

The headlines are saying Caylee is dead, but the quotes from the investigator don’t seem to back that up 100%.

From the Sentinel story,

"For the first time, in a one-on-one interview, the lead detective on the case told us the lab reports indicate Caylee is dead," WESH reporter Bob Kealing said.
"The information that we got back from the FBI lab indicating that she was in the trunk of that car and that she's dead certainly is information we take very seriously," Sgt. John Allen of the Orange County Sheriff's Office said on camera.

I’m only seeing where “sources” are confirming anything.

WFTV anchor Martie Salt on Wednesday said: "Sources tell Channel 9 that preliminary scientific test results show that Caylee Anthony was in her mother's trunk and that she was dead. We're the first to break that information."

Am I missing something? Are there stories out there quoting Sgt. Allen, the FBI, or any other investigator as saying they have results that confirm Caylee is dead and was in the trunk?

There is a HUGE difference between indicate and confirm – especially in a court of law. I am confident that Caylee is unfortunately dead and that her body was in Casey’s trunk. But sources and indications won’t do anything to snap the Anthony’s into reality or get Casey to talk.

My understanding is that the death process changes something about your hair.

Only if it was pulled out by the root and then the forensic specialist on NG the other night, said even if we are still alive and a hair pulled out is left it starts to decompose. Doesn't mean it came from a dead body.

I believe that's the way I understood it.
