Othram - General Discussion - #3

Honored that Othram could assist the Ottawa Police Service and Toronto Police Service in identifying the suspect in the 1996 murder of Christopher Smith. This case is part of a longstanding collaboration between the TPS forensic genetic genealogy team and Othram.

Wonderful news. Amazing that the murderer has been revealed after so many years.
@othram Just a note about the article ... last paragraph perhaps should read, "The identification of x(Gerald Durocher) Lawrence Diehl represents the 13th publicly-announced case... "

Thank you. We corrected that.

At the time, the killing raised the specter of the still-unsolved serial highway killings of the late 1980s because Alvarado, who had recently moved to New Bedford from Fall River, shared many of the same characteristics of the nine women whose badly decomposed bodies were found along and near I-195 and Route 140 in Dartmouth, Freetown, Marion and Westport.

Not finding a Doe thread for Daniel on Websleuths.

I don't think this individual has a Doe thread, at least, not one under his NamUs number. It's hard to tell if he's got a thread without it because using 'suffolk county' in a search just yields hundreds of LISK related posts. I think it's likely that he doesn't, though.

Honored that Othram could assist the Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in identifying a 1985 homicide victim as Barbara Heyward Manners, born June 9, 1951. We are grateful to RTI, NIJ, and NamUs for funding for this case.

Othram. Im not sure what your social media following is, but they seem to have recently learned that her 12 year old daughter disappeared with her.

Maybe you could share a post about her?

I'm guessing from the wording of the announcement that William didn't have a Doe thread (no NamUs number), and he doesn't appear to have had a missing thread, either. The only William Seitz thread is for a completely different individual.

Honored that Othram could assist the Honolulu Department of the Medical Examiner and Honolulu Police Department in identifying a little girl now known to be Mary Sue Fink, born April 29, 1959. Her remains were not found until 2014. This is the second child case solved as part of Project 525 and we thank RTI/NIJ/NamUs for funding the casework.
