Nasir Grant, 28, and Ameen Hurst, 18, escaped from the Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center on 8301 State Road Sunday evening, according to police.

Philadelphia Prisons Commissioner Blanche Carney said all prisoners were reported as accounted for when head counts were taken at 11 p.m. Sunday, 3 a.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Monday, despite Grant and Hurst escaping earlier Sunday evening.

It wasn't until a head count at 3 p.m. Monday when officials at the center realized Grant and Hurst had escaped, according to Carney. Surveillance video showed Grant and Hurst cutting a hole in the fence and escaping around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, police said.

The entire facility was placed on lockdown and all other inmates were accounted for, according to Carney. Philadelphia Police and U.S. Marshals were notified and are all involved in the investigation. Officials are also investigating the Center's handling of the incident.

Budget cuts.

I'm so sorry that these people are at large. I am glad the journalists already knew about the budget cuts.

They will catch them - but it's almost as if our criminal justice system has to focus on basics. Such as making sure the incarcerated do not escape. It's a very dangerous situation, but PA will gather the resources for the manhunt. I feel for LE, who must drop everything else they are doing to attend to this.

Businesses (public entities included) do not always plan to have to divert resources. The outcomes of their budget cuts are not anticipated.

Wish we could help, from way out West. Keep us posted on what it's like as this one unfolds - I hope they've found them before I hit Post reply.

Seriously the one guy is up on 3 murder charges, he should have been in a more secured area. Hopefully they will be caught quickly.

They didn't get the one that's a murderer though, which is more concerning. Hope they don't come down here to Delaware.

Here even more on this another inmate that is probably famous 2 us just saying

Whaaat?!? That's wild! I remember that murder at Pat's. This whole thing is insane. It's kind of hard to believe that Hurst is only 18 and has already killed 4 people. He's definitely the last person I want running free. The definition of armed and dangerous. JMO
