“This is Burgess’ version of what happened Thursday as contained in the affidavit:
He was upset because he was arguing with his girlfriend Samantha Delcamp. The youngster would not eat her food so he picked her up by the shoulders and pinned her against a wall.
He then put Arabella on the floor, picked her back up and attempted to throw her on the couch. Instead, he missed and she landed on the floor.
She began to have seizures. But he did not want Delcamp to call 911 because his mother was a nurse and she would know what to do. He called his mother, it took her 20 minutes to arrive and 911 was dialed three minutes later.
She remained unconscious while transported to Geisinger where it was determined she had suffered a brain injury, multiple broken ribs, hemorrhaging from the vagina and multiple bruises about the face and body, the affidavit states.
The incident was the latest in a series of physical abuse that Burgess is accused of inflicting on his girlfriend and her daughter.
Delcamp, 23, told police she had been assaulted at last 10 times and her daughter a least four times since July.”

Man accused of critically injuring girlfriend’s 3-year-old didn’t want 911 called: police
Hemorrhaging from the vagina? Well that seals it for me. They should both rot in hell.
“I feel bad for my sister,” said Delcamps sister, Mandy Delcamp Kegler, who was granted custody of Arabella after the child was hospitalized. But she said that if her sister failed to protect her daughter, she should pay the consequences.
...
Part of her brain had been surgically removed by Geisinger doctors.

Burgess is accused of assaulting Arabella a number of times over a four-month period beginning by punching her in July, according to documents filed by police in support of the charges.

And here's the worst:
According to those documents, police say that on Oct. 6 he threw her into a chair, hit her in the face, kicked and punched her in the back, stomped on her stomach, dumped a soft drink on her, threw her onto a bed, punched her, threw her in a bathtub and turned on the water.

WTF? Another woman handing over her child to a sadist IMO.

You took the words out of my mouth -- so, did she think "tomorrow" would be different from today? Why, why, why? We see this same scenario, how often -- once every 2 months or so? Everyone involved, whether blameless or the one who killed, or raped or whatever, is destroyed for a lifetime. What is it that makes people this way? SMH.

Another innocent and perfect little one gets her wings much too soon. And another one will be incarcerated (we hope) for life or death. Another one.

Christy Willis, who was arrested and charged Oct. 30, 2019, when state police said she lied to investigators to prevent authorities from investigating the abuse of Arabella.

Willis, through her attorney, William Cannon, appeared in court Friday thinking she was having a bail modification hearing but President Judge Charles Saylor said the proper park work wasn’t filed and the pre-trial motion was not scheduled to be heard.

Saylor asked District Attorney Tony Matulewicz if the state was ready to proceed to trial, to which Matulewicz said he was. Cannon said the defense is also “potentially ready.”

Saylor said any pretrial motions will be heard in February before jury selection and a trial date would be set for April.

Willis remains incarcerated on $200,000 cash bail after Saylor denied her reduction request in 2019.

Troopers say Willis’s son, Jahrid Burgess, 20, of Port Trevorton, beat Arabella so badly she needed part of her brain removed.

Arresting Trooper Brian Siebert said Willis lied in two different interviews, saying she was sitting at a kitchen table and Parker was eating a sandwich before falling to the ground and having a seizure.

Cannon was seeking a hearing to ask Saylor to release Willis for not being brought to trial on the charges and that the judge dismiss all charges as well.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the state Supreme Court issued time calculations suspended for Rule-600, which is a law that allows defendants to file a motion to be released from jail if they aren’t brought to trial within the year of the date of their arrest.

Arresting Trooper Brian Siebert said Willis lied in two different interviews, saying she was sitting at a kitchen table and Parker was eating a sandwich before falling to the ground and having a seizure.

Willis told troopers Arabella began to gasp for air.

Later during the interview, Willis told troopers she was not at the residence when Arabella began to have seizures.

Troopers listened to a 911 call from Willis to Northumberland County 911 and said she sounded, “cool, calm and collected,” with no sense of urgency, according to court documents.

Matulewicz said if Willis would have acted quicker and not tried to help her son and his girlfriend, Arabella’s mother, Samantha Delcamp, 25, of Port Trevorton, Arabella may have had a chance to recover from her injuries.

Burgess and Delcamp both face homicide charges.
