In my experience (pet sitter 15 years), it could take days to hear all of the birds words and phrases. Also, the stress of being moved would affect its talkativeness.

Hummm, I wonder what reason they could have to remove the bird from the home for a short period of time. Possibly to let N hear it to see if it sounds like what she heard. But they could have just recorded it from its home...saying shut up...

If "shut up" is one of this birds primary phrases, IMO, that is a common phrase repeated in the home and over a long period of time.
I would love to bring that bird home with me for a couple of weeks and listen to it!!! You could learn quite a bit.

I wonder if N was able to recognize anything from the interior pictures of the home...possibly the bedroom, where she was hidden underneath the bed.

Seems the muslim garb was all just a ruse to impersonate the family's religious beliefs...speaks to the lengths the kidnapper went to abduct said child...smh

I just hope they can find her DNA on the carpet they took.. If this house search turns out to be a bust. Then LE will be back to square one..so will we..

Can't imagine there are many homes in the neighborhood with exotic birds of this sort. That should narrow the prospects quite a bit.

My parrot also says shut up. Because it's loud and I would tell it to shut up. That might be something very common for people with loud parrots.

So what else did this poor child endure?

From what we know, she was:

-taken from school by a woman who may or may not be Muslim (I'm beginning to really believe the kidnapper used the niqab as a disguise and is NOT Muslim at all.)
-blindfolded
-placed in a bag
-stripped of her clothing
-possibly hit in the face or injured by her abductors that would explain her wound under her lip
-placed under a bed
-injured as a result of some kind of assault that is called 'horrible'
-released from the home in a tshirt in the winter rain in the early hours of the morning in a dark strange place
-hiding under a slide from the rain
-returned to the hospital as a result of the injuries sustained to her during her abduction

There are SEVERAL people involved in this crime, and SEVERAL people who KNOW what happened here. This is a disgusting crime. Women are involved as well as at least one man. WTH are you thinking? $100 000 will cause someone to snitch, you better believe it. Unfortunately, money may talk in this whole disturbing scenario. Sick.

matou,
You hit on all the main points. imo
This crime scares me. Children should be safe in school. To be kidnapped, possibly blindfolded, duct taped, stripped of ones clothes, in some way assaulted....it is :banghead::furious: evil >>> horrendously evil that this even happened. I hope this little one will heal physically and mentally. I want these nasty perps found. imoo

I think the "muslim thing" is what threw people off and led to clues that didn't pan out. Also this could explain why neighbors weren't more suspicious of the culprits. LE seems to be on the right track of something more promising now :please: .

Yes, you are right. Probably a common phrase for a chatty bird.

My understanding is it could take awhile, possibly weeks, to get results from DNA testing. Hope they have other solid evidence to secure :jail: sooner arrests.

Could this be the after school program associated with the school?

http://childcarecenter.us/provider_...ool_program_huey_philadelphia_pa#.URcbNx27Op0

The address is close by and as far as I can tell, there is no after school program at the school itself (I haven't found any info about one at the physical site of the school).

hmmm, it's a bit too far still. Maybe there's something closer. The name of the center is what caught my eye (i.e. after-school).

Maybe 'shut up' is what was said to the victim over and over again and the bird learned that phrase? Then again, maybe 'shut up' was screamed at the bird over and over again for being too loud. IDK. I'm just positive that the bird will help seal the deal with who did this.

Hope you're right...

But that scenario just so screams of some crazy movie...but creatures are smart...

Sure could be. Usually "day care" or "after school program" means a general day care in the area. They might pick up anywhere from 2-15 children from a school and go to several schools in the area. Here are some other possibilities (secular) nearby. I am particularly interested in Each One Teach One because it is so close to the path.

At our school, child care / after school program is at the school run by the YMCA. Someone comes to the Kindergarten class and picks up the kids who go after school. Could that be the case here?

My uncle's parakeet would cuss like a drunken sailor as my uncle could do on occassion & his sons. He (the bird) also would call himself pretty boy in the mirror over the fireplace while sitting on a trophy on the mantle. Loved that bird.

Shut up and hello are pretty common. lol

That's funny! If our cat could talk, shut up would be the first thing he would say!
