For sure no other choice. Wow - people are delusional!!
His mother said his girlfriend had a stranglehold on him?!

It’s very possible his mother didn’t really know her son that well after he became an adult. Possibly he was not like this when he was very young? Sometimes people change a lot, become angry, violent….. for whatever reason. JMO

It's been reported several people tried to help him after his escape but LE foiled their attempts. I see serious charges coming.

It will be interesting to learn more details of his escape as they unfold.
Source 'Inside Edition' airing 9/13.

I couldn't listen to the PC with the Governor all over himself.

Did they specify that the rifle was recovered?
The officer to DC’s right, was holding the gun, you can see scope and light. I believe that’s it.

My opinion only

Again a job well done, even as it took a little while longer than perhaps first thought.

On the reports of his sister and the deportation through ICE. It does sound in order from what is reported - and if deported, just please don’t let her back in to the US!

I generally tend to think humility goes a lot longer way than does pride - and particularly in those who employ force with the authority of the state; however, I'm forgiving of the optics given every man in that photo was taking his life in his hands going in after this armed, twice-murderous fugitive AND they managed to capture him alive. I'm certain that is a complete turnaround from the way they all felt going in, with the outcome yet uncertain.
100%

This was a 2 week long ordeal where I am sure many of them barely slept and spent every single day with all hands on deck trying to locate this "man". They knew he killed in Brazil, then fled to the US.. lived here working (illegally?) and blending in for years then he murders his ex because she was going to tell on him for the murder in Brazil. He stabbed her over 20 times.. THAT takes rage and something that not many murders having the ability to do. He also did that in front of young children. :( This man then escaped from a jail just right out from under their noses.. 2 weeks in he had stolen a vehicle and then a gun. I'd say every single officer involved was just plain exhausted and determined to get this guy before he killed someone else. They also knew he had zero to lose by going out with a "Bang" and I'm sure they feared he would do just that by entering a home and holding people captive or murdering them. They lived 2 weeks on edge trying to get a head of this guy all while being fully at risk by not knowing exactly where he was as they were searching.

I say they earned a little brag and to be elated and relieved with the capture. Maybe all those emotions just spilled over and it sounded like bragging and back patting, but I know I wouldn't want their job and I don't know how I'd react if I were part of that team that spent weeks searching and coming up empty, no sleep, just fear he would harm another innocent person or one of my brothers/sisters in LE.

CAPTURE UPDATE In handcuffs escaped killer Danelo Cavalcante leaving PA State Police barracks on the way to state prison.

Hero Dog Update: The @CBP confirmed for me the K9 from El Paso who helped take down Danelo Cavalcante is named “Yoda” (not Tucker). The first pic is a day before the capture while working from a residents horse arena. The others are moments after the capture.

Thanks for the links and video !
Perp walk ... what is DC wearing ?
Hospital gown ?

He's not smirking any more.
Omo.

Looks like he was cleaned up and taken care of possibly medically by the looks of the gown he's wearing. Those officers showed him more decency then he deserves after what he has done.

Well deserved photo op, imo. They were in charge and showed him who's boss. ;) You may hide for the time being, but not forever. So proud of the professionalism - no injures or loss of life. Well done!

Agree. Hunters post with their "catch" all the time.....this was a hunt and they should be proud they caught their prey. And the perp should feel humiliated by the pic.

I don't agree with his mother's take on his situation. IMO, sadly this probably represents the lawlessness and mindset he and his mother grew up with in Brazil. Crime is rampant and common in Brazil.

JMO

ETA - IMO, also common there is vigilante justice.
