my opinion only.. was she jealous or resentful? a ladies man is gonna ladies man ....if you get my drift.
And some couple would be cool with that.

Interesting that 12 years ago when the article was written ex #2 Emma said she was working on a book about Ray.
yes- I looked for that and I guess it was not written. Also do not see much about her. The destroyed work computer does not say "affair" to me ... more like something work related IMO. Or was even a DA careless enough to put something about his private life on a work computer? I just think not and there does not seem to be "lots of women." Of course images are deceiving a la Elliot Spitzer.

RFG used the laptop as a home computer for much, if not all, of 2004.

weird to me if there was some one else in the car smoking that there was no DNA... not easy to get into a car without ever touching any part of it (door, door handle, seat, etc.)
they wore gloves?

Ray could have been in the drivers seat with the windows rolled down. The (smoker) could have been standing outside the car leaning in the passenger side window smoking and talking to Ray. If Ray knew he would not be returning to that car, he wouldn't have cared about cigarette smoke or ash in the vehicle.

I think the whole “ladies man” thing was overblown. 2 wives, a live in Patty, and a few flirtatious encounters are all that’s ever mentioned along with that description. For that history at 59 years old that’s not really a guy that was “getting around.”

I don't know. I do think I remember a male friend of his describing him that way. I can't believe that it came out of thin air. The 2 wives, Patty, and a "few flirtatious" encounters are all that's ever mentioned publicly, but I'd think a man would have a reason to use that description. Not that it means anything here, but I've filed it away in the "interesting" compartment.

He was aware of LE could do to recover the data.

For the record, I destroy all my hard drives.
Yes but it's not his personal data to destroy, it's work related. He shouldn't have the authority to destroy work related data on a work laptop. Not like his personal PC with Facebook stuff etc. I find it very odd and suspicious. As if covering up something, question is what. Very extreme behavior from a supposed proffesional.

I guess I'm really stuck on the laptop. Why have it with you? Why destroy it? Was it him who destroyed it? Was it someone he was going to expose with data on the laptop that he met with that day and foul play took place?

I can only come up with two good explanations as to why he took that laptop with him.
1. He planned all along to destroy it that day.
2. He planned to use it for something work related. Examples: taking notes from an interview, reading work related items such as a deposition transcript, etc.

One can imagine many less likely reasons. Some examples:
1. Showing someone something on it for blackmail reasons.
2. Showing someone something to get them to do something, like testify, confess, etc.
3. He accidentally took it, like it was still in his car from the previous day.
4. Someone demanded he bring it to Lewisburg and turn it over to them

Don’t forget WIFI and laptops with WIFI capability wasn’t really a thing in 2005. To use the internet he would have needed to plug in somewhere, and doing that in 2005 was only common at home, at an office, or at a hotel. Between that almost certainty that he wasn’t taking it for internet access and the fact that the hard drive was removed and both parts tossed in the river, it narrows it down to those two good explanations.

His actions just seem so off, I'm having a hard time with random violence against him. Foul play, possibly but not random coincidence, it's possible he committed suicide, a woman in nj left her job, parked in a hotel parking lot, left her phone, purse, water and later found out a note in her car. Was caught walking to a thick wooded area by the hotel where she parked and disappeared. People searched but nothing was found until the winter when the woods thinned a bit. Maybe Ray left something behind somewhere? Maybe he walked into a wooded area or the water and just left this life? Those close to him said he was sleeping more than usual, definitely sign of depression. Only those closest to him would know if he really was not himself.

Again, stuck on the laptop, if killing yourself why destroy it? Legacy? Protect family from unsavory information? Or hide your tracks? I dont see being so protective over employee records. I'd love to see the actual police files and their investigation. I feel there's a keypiece of information that would make people say ahaaaa.

No Facebook in 2005 unless you were a Harvard student:

2006

In May 2006, Facebook hired its first intern, Julie Zhuo. After a month, Zhuo was hired as a full-time engineer. On September 26, 2006, Facebook opened to everyone at least 13 years old with a valid email address.

2005- no real social media

There was MySpace, Friendster, Livejournal, etc but somehow I don't see him being on any of those networks.

Just wanted to give a little local perspective. I grew up in, and have lived in PA almost all my life. I am only 45 minutes from this area and have been many times. Especially being a Penn State Alum. IMO from local experience, I can rule out suicide. People in this state take hunting so seriously and so many people are in the woods that the first day of buck is a state holiday. No school, work, ect.. People are always out in the woods around here. And the water was not deep enough to completely wash away or hide a body forever. It isn't a raging river. There has never been a person who went into that water and was never recovered. Also, the area has been built up since then, a lot of development. I personally don't see any way he could have hidden himself so well that he would not have been located by now. To me that only leaves two possibilities, walkaway or foul play.

When LE dusted the interior of the car for fingerprints, they noticed that it appeared the interior had been wiped down.

As I recall, the depth of the river at the bridge ATT was only chest high. There are photos of searchers walking around in the river to search for Ray.

for the weirdest reasons I always wonder if Ray actually made it back home that day and that he may have been seen driving off but did not park the car in that lot and that witnesses are confused about times and dates etc..that the car was brought to the lot but not by Ray.

then I think, no...he was kidnapped from that location and taken to another location. someone who knew where he was going that day or someone followed him there.

Ray's body is GONE. there was a half hearted investigation that never found closure and gave up easily.

Ray's body is gone...but so is his money which could be because he hid money from conventional depositories.

So like is it a mob hit and they took Ray for a ride? was Ray following instructions when he went to the Quarry?
was Ray in a state of mania and following some voice in his head? Was Ray cheating on PF all the time and someone close to her got rid of him ? ( taking out a District Attorney is very scary biz)...but think of this guy in SF that killed some CEO dude his sister was partying with....it does happen...

knowing that the car was wiped down, the smoke, ash whatever smell was there...tells us that someone other than Ray had their hands on Ray's car either inside or through the window...but someone who smoked was close enough to the car to pass smoke into the car. so someone else is involved..we know this isn't Ray smoking...

but they stopped the search at the river area... mOO

Rest in Peace, Ray Gricar.
Just before Ray disappeared, he was investigating the sex trafficking of high school athletes in PA. Re: The Sandusky Cult.
I wonder what he had found out?
