Found Safe PA - Enci “Aubrey” Wu, 14, last seen leaving her house in Allentown on 10 January 2025

I can’t believe that it has been over 3 months since I started this thread. I really thought she ran away and would be found pretty quickly… but it’s not how it’s gone. I pray she is safe 💜

Just yesterday, another local 16 year old girl left her residence and is now missing, like an hour south of where Aubrey was last seen. Sigh.
Another one?

DA: Enci 'Aubrey' Wu found safe in Georgia, investigation ongoing

“Georgia authorities are actively looking into what happened and are investigating, the DA says.

Officials in Georgia are continuing their investigation into how Enci Wu arrived in the state, including where she stayed, who she had contact with, and what happened during her time there.

According to reports she may have been moving around and established several relationships with individuals in Georgia, the DA says.

The District Attorney says that to their understanding, Enci changed her appearance, including dyeing her hair lighter.”

Well, they had to know that at least she was alive before she was found.

Aubrey dyed her hair blond to conceal her identity. She remained hidden despite continuing to post on social media. Baratta called her “very intelligent” and technologically savvy, but said her social media posts ultimately helped lead authorities to her.

“Earlier Tuesday, April 15, Attorney Jenna M. Fliszar stated that she has been retained to represent Enci “Aubrey” Wu by her parents. Fliszar is solely representing Wu in her case…

“I was retained to represent Aubrey Wu because every child deserves someone in their corner. As a community, we must keep the focus where it belongs – on finding Aubrey and ensuring her safety. I’m here to make sure her voice is never lost in this process.” Fliszar explained her role in Wu’s case. “My role is to ensure that Aubrey’s best interests are protected throughout every step of this process. This includes ensuring her rights are protected now and when she is found.””

Seems like the cops were onto something when they said this was a criminal matter. It's great that she's safe, but it seems like there's more going on here, just not sure what (and I'm not accusing her of doing anything wrong). Was she really trying to conceal her identity? Dying her hair would make her look different, but at the same time, as the only blonde Asian (out of 40) in Jasper, Georgia, she'd blend like Vinny Gambini. This story just keeps getting weirder.

Lots going on with this case. Hopefully she will be fine.

Baratta said authorities want to take a closer look at the tension in the home, and child protective services in Pennsylvania will determine where Aubrey will live when she returns to Pennsylvania. Social service workers want to assure she will be safe at home, Baratta said.

Baratta said Aubrey’s parents’ restrictions may have been excessive and inappropriate. He declined to elaborate on the “tension” in the home.

“Enci deserves privacy,” Baratta said.

Baratta said Aubrey’s disappearance is not being investigated as a criminal matter.

“At this time, no charges have been contemplated,” he said.

Baratta said Aubrey was “moving around” and had no fixed residence in Georgia. He said police in Jasper, Georgia, continue to investigate her living arrangements and whether any crimes were committed. Some of the people she lived with were “persons of interest” to Georgia authorities, but Baratta declined to elaborate.

I think it's very telling that they said this much.

I always had a vibe about this case. This comment as much as confirms my suspicions.

May Aubrey find herself in a home where she is loved, respected, and allowed the reasonable levels of freedoms a teenager should have.

MOO

Not much detail about the two who were arrested. It wasn't for kidnapping or anything that serious, just "interfering with child custody". If their side of the story checks out (and so far seems plausible), those charges will be tossed. They say she'd only gotten there the day before asking for a place to stay, told them she was 20, and at 2AM the police arrived. If there's more to the story, so far I haven't heard it. (Not posting their names here, because I'm still not sure if they did anything wrong.)
