Not a peep lately from local media in Pittsburgh.

April is 10 months after NV's arrest. There must be very compelling evidence against her or an admission on her part. With no bail, 10 months is a long time to be in jail if she is innocent. I am not saying she is or isn't innocent. It's a long time to wait in jail when innocent until proven guilty.

Maybe her defense needs a lot of time? Did she waive her right to a speedy trial?

Good thinking and makes sense. I think there is a status hearing 11/21/24, but not sure we will learn anything more. Surprised the case is so quiet.

It's a death penalty case. Those always take longer. In fact, 10 months seems like very quick turnaround for a death penalty case, in my opinion.

I haven't heard any updates on the status conference but I noticed a few new docket entries. Also, another status conference is scheduled for December 11.

Yet no one is covering it - did Schrager leverage relationships with press to keep it hush hush - which is counter to every defense team’s strategy we’ve seen lately? Is it really nationwide interest? I'd think if it was it would get more coverage, like the UNH CEO killing. Now that has captured nationwide attention.

People in SD heard about Nicole V(since she worked locally) but at this point it's not really on people's minds (compared to Luigi M)... it's VERY telling how hush hush all these proceedings have been. Likely since Schrager is quite high powered as @Kittybunny says.

It just doesn't make sense and nothing has been shared with the public- hope this means the case can move forward with a local jury!!! No "change of venue" antics.

So, she was granted her laptop to use. Unlimited including internet? If that's the case, she could be a guest reading here. I imagine she's continuing her research and studies in some way and it may be keeping her grounded. MOO, I sure didn't expect her to just be sitting in jail quietly all this time. Don't know what to make of this case. However hard I try, I can't grasp taking a school break to take a short trip with part of the plan to hurt babies. ​
