Ok, but in my experience, it's something a young person might do. (I'm in Australia) Especially so if they're working the night shift (which would be fairly quiet in that industry), there are not many other staff members to be watching/telling on her, it's only for a few minutes, and maybe there's not a lot of work to be done and it's been made clear that you can fill your down time with anything within reason. If you worked on a factory line in a big manufacturing plant, you wouldn't just step out, but if you were an overnight security guard in a shopping centre, you might.

Not all, but some, younger people seem to be a bit more lax in the way they approach employment compared to us older folk.

The industry also matters. I can't speak for Kada's role, but I know that I often leave the hospital to walk outside to get air or go across the street or get a meal or get a Postmates delivery. I don't tell anyone, especially on overnight shifts. I do carry a pager and my cell phone so people can get a hold of me. The nurses leave all the time without saying a word too, sometimes to grab a delivery order, other times to smoke in designated areas just off campus or to take a phone call. As long as you're not gone for a long time and you're not leaving the grounds, it's no different than taking a bathroom break really.

MOO.

My pure speculative guess, it's someone she had a possible recent romantic relationship with and or someone who was catfishing her.

They showed up there's not a lot of workers they cased it a bit waited for a time no one else was around, got her to the lobby area by phone or just saw her then used a gun to get her to leave her phone and come with them, they took her to the Awbry location and who knows what happened after that

MOO, I hope I'm wrong and they find her alive and well

Neither does anything seen on her social media or her college degree for that matter.

I’m curious how she got the job, was it though a personal connection? IIRC, her linktree had something about kids, a charity perhaps? I can’t check that right now, anyone else?

What was her job? Might have been entry level.

I think the pageant world is like a sorority. Once you're in, lots of connections. MOO.

Maybe, I'm not committed to an answer, I see multiple news sites say she was a recent graduate from Penn State, but I can find nothing to verify that......
Here's a link.

I live in Penn State territory (It's a huge thing in Central Pennsylvania) and working at an assisted living facility as an aide after graduating from Penn State is not at ALL what I would expect, it's very odd. There is nothing wrong with that type of job, we need more Nursing Home Aides, but that's not a job I would expect someone who paid $40k a year for college to do. It would be impossible to pay back loans at that income level.

In my experience, most CNAs or nursing home aides with a college degree have some greater healthcare aspiration and do this in the meantime to earn a paycheck and get healthcare experience. A lot of doctors, NP's, and PA's started out as nurse's aids in all kinds of settings, including nursing homes.

I think it was a steady paycheck with benefits that allowed her to pursue her other interests during the day and not have to worry about them making money instantly.

This is a good perspective to have and keep in mind thank you for sharing

If they've got Apple data which led them to the park, they'll be able to determine how fast she was moving IMO. On foot or by car. Maybe even heart rate.

But if an Apple watch led them to the park, where did her watch go after that? Turned off? Submerged? Voluntarily or not? Influencer stunt?
Was her watch just dead ? Can you shut off an Apple Watch without the passcode? Assuming she had a passcode on it.

The job market for university grads is not hot right now. 4 year college just doesn't seem as important as it used to be and you just cannot justify the cost...Many graduates have to go home and live with their parents to afford to live and pay their student loans. Couple this with having to work super low paying jobs and that American dream just ain't happening for many. Could she have been suicidal because her jobs potential sucks. Like someone else said a PENN grad isn't normally working the night shift at an assisted living facility. I wonder what her major was.

I think there are probably more Penn grads and even UPenn grads who work at assisted living facilities than we know. Usually, they're aspiring to get into grad school for something healthcare related, but I don't think we should these jobs as if those aides don't have college degrees.

Maybe that's why they searched the pond in the park - would being under water make the phone "turn off?"

I wonder why she didn’t do esthetician work. I just paid an obscene amount of money for a facial, I’m talking hundreds. She had options. Im stuck on why she was working overnights in what I personally feel is the hardest most underpaid job on the planet.
She was gorgeous she could be a server, bartender, bottle service girl, waitress, esthetician, she had options. Why do the hardest thing ever, for minimal pay, when you have other options and her major was communications nothing health related, so it’s not like it was for experience?

A job at 23 isn't necessarily a job at 53. Sometimes it's just a means to an end.

Bringing this forward from page 3 of the thread. I thought we knew she was a graduate of U Penn but this post on X indicates otherwise...?

I thought it was Penn State. UPenn is a different school.

Many people are asking why work at this facility and speak of hard work with poor pay.

An assisted living facility are individuals who don’t need nursing home level care. These people need help with their day to day activities but still can do things on their own. Nightsshift works allows a lot of flexibility to engage in other activities during the day. This job is also super close to her home and offers amazing benefits. I looked up the Chestnut Hill facility as if I were a prospective employee. I was redirected to “Bridge Senior Living”. I included screenshots of the benefits below. Things that stood out to me were “work today, get paid tomorrow”, the quarterly drawing, and up to $10,000 tuition reimbursement

Probably an exercise in the obvious but what are the possibilities here?

Disappeared purposefully.

Was lured out of work and then driven away, with a ruse. Parent/pet emergency, come with me.

And/or lured out by her harasser and taken away by force.

Are all of her devices missing? That's... interesting.

I hope it means she left of her own volition, remains safe somewhere, and while having a lot of explaining to do, will be ALIVE to do so.

Best case scenario.

JMO
Critical missing piece, at least for us sleuthers, is the nature surrounding the harassment. Did she know who it was, or was random? Or didn’t know for sure but had an idea? What kind of harassment? Was it innocuous enough that she didn’t feel it warranted opening a police report and/or that it wouldn’t turn into irl stalking?
As an investigator these are pertinent questions I’d be looking to answer

No one has brought it up but I think it’s worth checking out Kada’s Pinterest. It gives a sense of her goals and where she was at in life. Seemed like she was highly driven and determined to reach her goals. Where are you Kada?

Thanks so much for sharing. The reporter mentions the Apple watch during the last 20 seconds of the video. KS' mother shared that the Apple watch pinged at the Awbury Arboretum.
Thanks for finding I couldn’t remember the hich news video I heard it on.

Begs the question - if her watch pinged but not her phone. Was it dead, disabled? If she had a jacket or long sleeves on, did someone overlook she had the watch on? This line of questioning assumes she was a victim at the point in time the watch pinged at Awbury.

I think her degree was in Art? That’s why I made that comment. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Thank you so it was really just reported

I find myself wondering if something happened with a resident.
This is an old report dated 10 October

I would’ve thought this case wouldve got more media attention if it was a potential abduction of a young girl from work.

I have a feeling police know a lot more about this case than is currently in the media domain. MOO.
