I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't that. Strangulation, blunt force, the sad usuals.

Gunshot. To the head. That's not what I think of when I think of intimate partner violence. This seems like an execution. What in the world? Stealing a car, ingratiating her somehow (at least into text/call communication), then this?

What was his motive??????

That poor girl. Terrifying.

He burned the car, maybe that was the crime scene.

Wicked.

JMO

little surprised. i was expecting strangulation or blunt force trauma, etc.

ditto. this is making less sense to me the more we learn.

Agree -- I found the news about a gunshot to the head shocking, although there's likely some precedent in the vast and growing array of cases that involve young woman being murdered by men.

I wonder if the key element here was the acting out of a violent kidnapping -- something K King has form for.

A case as strange as it is sad.

I don't think this was a "kidnapping" in the normal sense (ransom). But although guns are used in more than half oa intimate partner murders, I personally don't see that here. I think this was some sort of "business" arrangement. Something the perp offered that the victim wanted assistance with, and he expected something in return that was not given as promised. If any illegal activities were involved, she may have been seen as a liability (possible witness) to whatever was going on between those responsible. Hopefully LE has what they need to bring some justice to her for this senseless act.

I will be interested in learning who Scott was speaking to at work when overheard saying "I can't believe you are calling me about this" My theory is that it was not her killer, King.

Is it possible his prior victim or someone with knowledge of his prior bad acts was attempting to warn her off of King? And King had already told her his version of events around those prior bad acts? Did he tell her a story about a crazy ex so that if and when she heard negative things about him she would disbelieve them?

Just kicking some thoughts around

So twisted. Seems she was playing a dangerous game and lost.
I'm not sure if your comment is based on the clickbait Daily Mail headline/artcile, but Im not comfortable with the phrase 'playing a dangerous game', which implies Kada was partly to blame for her own demise?

Based on the evidence LE have provided, Kada was an unarmed, defenceless woman who was brutally executed by a man who had previous incidents of stalking, abuse and violence against women.

Nothing to do with playing a dangerous game imo.

Surveillance footage from October 5 reportedly showed two people removing a heavy object from the car and placing it into the grave.
Miss USA hopeful texted alleged killer 'kidnap me again'

Assuming one of those people was King, who was the second?
This is why I have such a hard time believing reporting. BBM on the quote from the story. There is no way on this planet there was any surveillance of them placing the heavy object "in the grave" unless someone had a camera mounted under the canopy of trees. The helicopter had a time of it seeing what was being dug up, and they had to be in just the right place however many feet up.. That location wasn't on any standard surveillance. IMHO.

yeah, I caught that too, at best two individuals were seen unloading the "object" from the car and carrying it towards the area Scott was ultimately found in a shallow grave. But I do not doubt they have two people on video. So my question remains, who was that second individual?

ETA a more accurate description of what the affidavit says IMO:

Video footage from the area where Scott’s body was found showed two people getting out of a vehicle around 11:30 p.m. the night after Scott disappeared. Around 4 a.m., they are shown removing “a heavy object, consistent with a human body” out of the passenger’s side of a car and then carrying it “in the general direction” of where Scott’s body was recovered from a shallow grave nearly two weeks later, according to the police affidavit.

No, it has nothing to do with clickbait. My opinion is partially based on her text message with him which has been confirmed in articles not by the DM. I'm certainly not implying she deserved to die. I have a theory on why she was telling people she was being harassed, etc but I'll hold off until more info comes in.

I was surprised to hear she was shot. I didn’t expect that at all.

The motive will be interesting.

You’re right @Megnut, Kada was executed.

They said it was shallow, but that can still be three feet or so. They say nothing of the two individuals getting out of the vehicle with shovels, so if they didn't have large shovels, it might have taken a while to dig the hole, depending on if they used, say, a folding shovel or used a flat rock or used a piece of board or used a branch. ( I have used all to dig non grave holes, plus a spatula, small frying pan, metal cup and mess kit parts).

From what I am reading, one accomplice who ought to know for sure, and one extra person in the second car that was waved on that may or may not have known, maybe only doing a requested pick up.

10/04/2025 10:28pm a dark colored vehicle, believed to be the stolen Hyundai Accent, pulls into the parking lot in front of Awbury Recreation Center, backing into a spot close to the playground. One individual exits the driver’s seat of the vehicle before walking away through the playground towards the fence between the two properties.

10/5/2025 11:39pm the suspect Hyundai Accent is still in the same spot. A gold 1999 Toyota Camry registered to King pulls into the parking lot and backs into a spot in the row closest to the street, facing towards Awbury Recreation Center and playground. Two individuals exit the Camry and then leave the camera angle. The Toyota Camry remains parked for almost 4 ½ hours, until 3:58am when two individuals emerge from the playground area and approach the original suspect Hyundai Accent. One motions towards the Camry, which then turns on its headlights and exits the parking lot. The two then remove a heavy object, consistent with a human body via the passenger side of the two-door vehicle and carry that object towards the playground - in the general direction of where KS remains were recovered on 10/18/2025. About 30 minutes later, the two individuals return to the suspect vehicle at 4:25am and enter it for a short time before exiting and walking back into the playground area and off camera about a minute later.

10/07/2025 2:48am one individual runs from the off camera area of the playground, enters the Hyundai Accent and drives off. Phone records indicate this was King. He traveled northeast to the immediate area of the arson and remained there until 3:33am.

This is from the affidavit. There were at least 3 individuals. Only 2 exited the car, but a third - maybe even a fourth, we don't know - drove the Camry away before the two in the parking lot removed her from the Hyundai.

Requesting because the thread updates weirdly on my phone. Does anyone have a link to the affidavit? TIA.

The thing that always angers me in these cases is the run up to the murder...in terms of the perps history of criminal activity.

I'd add, this guy has lots of charges connected to this case, one of many being 'kidnapping for ransom'.

Search by 'participant name', then pick Philadelphia county...he also has other previous charges in Delaware and Montgomery counties.

Once you search county of Philadelphia, there'll be two with same name, scroll until you see the date(s) of this case/murder and you'll then be able to distinguish the two.

The April 11 charges are terrifying in and of themselves. This guy was no stranger to LE, yet roamed the streets. My opinion, had he been incarcerated and kept where he belonged, this thread would be nonexistent.

I’m just really struck by how many people seemed to know about her murder. He didn’t keep this to himself and I wonder why.

This is all JMO and speculation.

Given that she was shot in the head very quickly after he picked her up that night and that he seems to have gang ties (or at least other criminal friends?) I suspect she went out with him once or twice, witnessed something she shouldn’t have, and was ordered by some third party to be executed.

Maybe they were at his place after a date and 2 of his friends burst in frantic bc one of them just shot someone during a robbery. They didn’t know he was home and had a guest. It would be safe to assume that if she saw something, she wouldn’t be on board with it given her clean cut miss america image (that we have no reason to doubt). Maybe she even said she couldn't see him anymore bc she didn’t want to get into trouble.
But then maybe he offers her some wild explanation for whatever she saw, or he lies and says he tipped off the police about his friends… and she buys it. At least enough to feel it would be ok to keep talking to him.

I’ll leave this here from the inquirer. He had a warrant for his arrest, and twice appeared in court for other charges, and no one arrested him. The article highlights a lot of mistakes that were made. And you’re right, had he been incarcerated, we wouldn’t be having this discussion.

From the inquirer article:

A month after Keon King was charged with breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home and attempting to strangle her, police say, his violence escalated: In January, he returned to her home with a gun, then kidnapped and assaulted her.

A warrant for his arrest was issued days later.

In the weeks that followed, King twice appeared in Philadelphia court and stood before a judge in the initial strangulation case. But no one in the courtroom seemed to know he was wanted for kidnapping.

So both times, King walked out.

In February, despite the warrant for King’s arrest, prosecutors — seemingly unaware that police said he had recently attacked their key witness — withdrew the burglary and strangulation case when the victim failed to appear in court.

Police did not go to either hearing to take him into custody, and do not appear to have alerted the prosecutor about the new arrest warrant.

Months before Kada Scott’s killing, Keon King was wanted for kidnapping his ex, but no one arrested him — even in court

Ahh I’m not able to view the charge info in my country
