I keep thinking about another employee.
They could have access to all of her missing things and her phone number.

What else might cause you to leave the building only somewhat over 40 minutes into your shift, expecting to come back or not?

I have wondered if she could be a sugar baby? Some of her clothing seems very provocative and is probably not cheap. All of her hair and beauty care cannot be cheap, unless she buys the fabulous dupes at the Dollar Tree...

A sugar daddy could have gotten upset with her for a number of reasons: she left the relationship, she threatened to tell his wife, she wasn't be loving/attentive enough...he found out she had another sugar daddy besides him.....

He could have told her he was giving her a gift or some money and to meet him outside her work building...Or he could have threatened her she needs to come out and talk to him or else, maybe threatening he would go into the building and expose her? So many situations I could imagine here.

I do not mean to disparage her in any way. Just trying to speculate what could have happened here.

10:40 pm. You are at your job. What would cause you to leave the building without telling anyone but NOT drive away?
Standard job duty, like maybe taking out trash
Run to your car for something.
Call from someone saying they had something of yours and wanted to drop it off (like maybe her tablet was left somewhere--or purposefully stolen for this purpose)
Escape from life with someone picking you up (I list this as a possibility, but I don't think this is the case)
Call from someone that a family member is hurt and someone will pick you up(? Not sure about this)

What else might cause you to leave the building only somewhat over 40 minutes into your shift, expecting to come back or not?
Perhaps an order for food - going outside to pick it up from a driver. Or getting something from a fast food restaurant, if it was across the street or very close.

A somewhat random thought - my grandad lives in an assisted living facility, and my mum and uncle both have key fobs to get into the building he lives in. I wonder if the facility Kada worked at ever gave keys/fobs/whatever you'd need to access the building to anyone other than staff? Obviously, if they did, I assume they've given that info to the police already

Even if that was the case, I don't believe she was alone in this shift. There must have been at least one other staff member on shift for security reasons.

The police wording that she left work indicates that she either informed someone or she was seen by someone leaving.

There is nothing disrepectful about delving into the Victimology Continuum in this case. Kada is certainly a victim of something yet unknown, her family & LE have said the disappearance is highly unlike her. She did not vanish of her own free will, someone has likely done her harm.

I like the way Victimology is categorized into different Continuum Principles at the link below. From what we know about Kada and her life so far, I would classify her as a low risk victim. Putting her in the category of the probablility she likely knew the person who may have harmed her. All JMO only based on what is known currently.

Ironically, if your speculation turns out to be true. This disappearance could be similar to what happened to Mackenzie Lueck, 23 in Utah back in 2019. Many of us here followed that case also.

Here are some things that are niggling me about this case:

Despite the three days’ delay between the missing persons report and the first appeal from LE , nobody is complaining about LE not responding quickly enough. This suggests to me that the family is on board with LE’s investigation.

We’ve heard crickets about an alleged phone harasser. Really? Surely her friends/family know more about the situation than is being shared with the public.

A very thorough search took place shortly after LE’s appeal for public help. Surely, this means that something substantial was reported, right?

The FBI is involved. We’ve heard nothing at all about any evidence collected from the scene of the disappearance. Namely, was there blood at the scene? Ballistic evidence? A particularl car to look for on local surveillance cameras?

No. Nada. Nothing. I still feel this disappeaance has roots close to her, and nobody wants to spook the subject.

Police interviewed Scott's coworkers who didn't notice any strange behavior prior to her disappearance.

Police also said "witness information & evidence, led them to search" at Awbury (stated in video).

Not sure about the witness portion, but I'm betting a phone ping may be the evidence, MOO.

It could have been taken more seriously because of the harassment. Kada might have shared screenshots or recordings with her family or close friends or they strongly suspect who was behind them.

I, too find it strange that so little info is shared but the FBI is already involved... Perhaps if they already have a suspect, he/she has a criminal past?

Maybe she was doing a meetup/handover for something on Poshmark or such that went sideways?
It might be a way to fund a posh lifestyle on the used side.

Did people find a Posh or Etsy or Ebay account for her?

This is what my thoughts are also - even with the business names. I couldn’t find a respectful way to say it so I did not. Thank you for finding a way to do so

But would you really leave work for that reason?

She didn't leave in her car, clearly she was meeting someone close by or was picked up. I find it strange that no one has mentioned if she was in a relationship.

Could the witness be an Uber/Lyft driver?

I don't own an apple anything. If an iPhone is turned off, but if an iPad is turned on and logged into an account, would it not ping gps if that was turned on for the device? An Android tablet would.

I understand the FBI is involved.
Doesn't the FBI only investigate in missing child cases, cases on federal properties, interstate crimes, plus fraud (I think) ? Is that Arboretum federal property by any chance?

There may be something bigger going on here, also as hinted with the complete silence and lack of info.
Maybe.

If it's slow on the night shift, I think running outside for a transaction is not horrible.
Granted, I've been at my job for a long time, she was 2 weeks in. Even though I have a strict schedule I could dip out for a sec and get coverage for things.

FBI also gets involved with kidnapping (wasn't voluntarily missing)

If I could do a handover in the parking lot or right next to my place of business, sure. Not usually only one hour in though. At least 2 hours in, around time for a break. But we don't know when she stopped being on the premises, so timing is open.

"Role of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI): Kidnapping and hostage taking of U.S. citizens are federal crimes for which the FBI has authority to investigate under the U.S. Criminal Code." 7 FAM 1820 HOSTAGE TAKING AND KIDNAPPINGS.

"In a missing person case, as a matter of cooperation, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) will, at the request of a state or local law enforcement agency, make available the facilities of the FBI Identification Division and the FBI Laboratory."

Maybe the state requested assistance, particularly because investigators did opine that this is not a voluntary missing case.
