Up thread where the LE are searching the school it says closed down for 20 years. There are vines growing all over it in that footage. Glass in door looks broken now.
I can't even imagine a building left without any fencing or anything blocking it off in my area these days. When I was younger, sure, which is why I hope they are examining the building with a fine tooth comb. Don't ask how many abandoned buildings I "inspected" as a teenager.

In Philly, unfortunately, there are many abandoned buildings - schools, warehouses, row homes, overgrown lots with trash, debris, trees. Certain areas are like finding “needles in a haystack”. I’ve been following this case from the beginning. I work a few minutes from where the car was found so I’m pretty local,

This is strictly my opinion but I was thinking they probably met on an online app and physically met up after talking. He could present his profile in any type of way and make himself out to be some great man. I’m still wondering If he was the one that was stalking her.

I wonder if she knew who was harassing her, and if it was King and she did know, it could be that they met in order to settle whatever dispute or such was going on.

IMO it seems very likely that Kada may have known Keon King but did not know he was her stalker.

Thank you for sharing this, @Warwick7 .
Kada is a beautiful young lady !

It looks like dad has been crying and he seems so frightened for his daughter. 😢

I'm trying to catch up but was it mentioned if Kada has an ex-boyfriend or any one (male or female) who might be considered an enemy or jealous ?
From her parents viewpoint this is out of character and they said she's not irresponsible ?
Was hoping this was voluntary as then she'd be alive and I'm sure her family would rather that than a more terrifying scenario.

Hoping for good news soon !!

Eta : Just catching up and reading about Keon King.
Ugh !!!
Does not sound good for Kada.
Hope I'm wrong and she's being held somewhere but is safe, but obv. traumatized.
Imo.

I hope this hasn't all been posted yet. The violence after the video was new to me.

Thanks for the link @outback .
Those previous charges were serious !

I'm guessing that the victim didn't show up because if Keon K. walked... he might have tried to kill her ?
Fear ?
He seems angry and that's just from a photo of him.
My .02.

"We all agree we wished this happened differently," Toczylowski said. "We see we could have done a couple different things."

BBM. Hindsight for the prosecution is 20-20 of course. I hope they actually figured something out that would be helpful in the future.

I've had a similar thought. I wonder if he stepped in to be her 'protector' from her 'stalker', but it was him. Maybe he offered to pick her up from work, to keep her safe. MOO

LATEST IN SEARCH FOR KADA SCOTT — CBS Philadelphia uncovers the man accused of kidnapping Scott had been charged TWICE before with strangulation, as well as kidnapping and burglary — in January of 2025 and now we’ve confirmed a case from November of 2024. We try and get answers on why charges were withdrawn in two instances

In most homicide cases you have the victim in the form of their body and the evidence that points to the perpetrator. It was years before trying a no body homicide was even accepted.
In attempted murders, rapes, and other serious assaults, your living witness is the best evidence you can have. Domestic assaults, especially, often occur in the privacy of the home. The case from last Spring was a domestic violence case as far as we know. We don’t have all the facts from that case. Evidence is usually derived from injuries photographed by LE and/or medical personnel and perhaps a damaged home. Unfortunately, these types of cases turn into a “he said, she said” argument in court especially when you have a good, experienced defense attorney. Lots of times, the victim in a domestic violence case doesn’t show up for court because, sadly, she still loves the person who does this to her. Other times it’s because she is afraid. You don’t know how many hours I have spent trying to support the victim, reassuring her, getting a victim advocate involved, trying to convince her to press charges, trying to convince her to show up in court. It makes you mad and it makes you sad that some sick, violent 🤬🤬🤬 can have such a hold over their victims
In a trial, when the LE officer/detective gets on the stand, all he or she can do is give testimony as to their observations and statements made at the scene. With luck they might have medical records or a nosey neighbor who overheard the argument. But, the fact is, the jury wants to hear from the victim. Why is she not in court if he did these horrible things to her? Is LE railroading this defendant?
So, it all comes down to the evidence. A DA will not pursue a trial unless and until they feel they have enough evidence to obtain a conviction. People often think DA’s drop cases because they want a perfect record of convictions. While that is sometimes true, it is also true that if you try a case that you don’t have enough evidence to prove that the defendant did it and you lose, you can never try them again because of double jeopardy. Sometimes you want to wait and see if you can tighten up the case.
As maddening as our justice system is at times, it’s still the best. It’s just not infallible.
I really appreciate your response and I do understand all of your points. And I fully agree that it is often better to drop charges than risk moving forward and having the defendant acquitted and not being able to re-try them if the victim eventually agrees to testify and/or more evidence comes to light. It is just soooooo frustrating! I can’t imagine how frustrating and painful/heartbreaking it must be to pour so much of your heart and soul into supporting, encouraging and protecting a victim only to have them be too afraid to testify.

What relationship King and Scott had and how long they knew each other is under investigation, Toczylowski said.

“Obviously, they had a connection. They’re going back and forth and they’ve known each other for a short time but I don’t know how long,” Vanore said.

Authorities have been tracking several phone numbers involved in Scott’s case and investigating whether any other individuals were involved with the kidnapping. “All roads at this point lead to” King and “that’s what we’re hoping leads us to” Scott, Toczylowski said.

Does anyone recall an article showing a bridge over a river near an industrial area. The article I can't find now showed a photo with the bridge and a map with the river and industrial area on one side.
I don't remember the context of those locations.
Do we know if that river is being searched, and if it is near that abandoned school they've been looking around?
