Does anyone recall an article showing a bridge over a river near an industrial area. The article I can't find now showed a photo with the bridge and a map with the river and industrial area on one side.
I don't remember the context of those locations.
Do we know if that river is being searched, and if it is near that abandoned school they've been looking around?
Let me preface this by saying it's a long, long time since I was in Philly. But here are some maps that I'm finding helpful.
Kingsessing, where the house was searched at Belmar Terrace. That is on the left. Schuylkill River runs between Kingsessing (your left) and Grays Ferry (noted as a location where his vehicle was
spotted) on right:
There's a trail park in what's called Grays Ferry Crescent, and it's (from what I've read) pretty expansive and it's desolate at night, and is bordered by industrial and commercial areas. Streetviewing through Grays Ferry, it seems to be pretty industrial but there are pockets of rowhouses. I would
guess if you were coming over to Grays Ferry from Kingsessing, you'd take Grays Ferry Avenue across the river. Am NOT saying the suspect took this route, but just in light of the locations already being discussed, have looked at it, and this is a streetview from Grays Ferry Avenue from the crossing there:
In terms of a broader view of some of the events and discoveries:
This map shows Mt. Airy and the Terrace at Chestnut Hill where Kada was abducted, that is way up at the top. Going south, you get to Germantown, where her phone case and debit card were recovered at the abandoned school. And it's not shown on this map, but the little piece of area just southwest of Germantown is East Falls, where the vehicle was recovered on Gypsy Lane. And going south from there, you have Grays Ferry and the Grays Ferry Crescent. Across Schuylkill River, there's the Kingsessing neighbordhood where the house on Belmar Terrace was searched.
Of note: Wissahickon Valley Park (very expansive with over 2000 acres, like a state park but from what I'm seeing it's an urban/city park) is easily accessed from the Gypsy Lane area where his vehicle was found in East Falls. Lincoln Drive evidently runs through Wissahickon. NOT saying the suspect at any point took this route, but just noting proximity. Another map:
For any locals on here, please correct me if any errors, I'm just piecing this together as best I can. I've been spelling this valley park as "Wissahickson," it's actually "Wissahickon."
Under the circumstances, I do hope that river is being searched to the extent possible, along with any abandoned structures in close proximity. Vast area, and I hope someone is talking.
