AND
If the neighbor didn't hear LE knocking either, maybe HE wasn't there. Ground floor, he should have heard LE knocking, especially since he initiated the call.

Either LE did not knock, or people in the building are not being completely truthful, IMO

Yeah, no matter how tired I was from being kept up by an inconsiderate neighbor, and I don't care if they DID quiet down by the time the cops arrived, darn right I'm staying up to give the cop an earful if I was mad enough to call in the first place. But it would take a lot of a££-hattery to get me mad enough to call.

The preceding post is only a theory.

Ok, try this on for size:

Sleepover friend saw an opportunity to make a move on KS while her bf was in jail/house arrest/whatever. He ruffied her at the bar. Instead of the intended effects, the drug had the effect of making her aggressive when mixed with alcohol.

http://www.bu.edu/police/prevention/rohypnol_fact_sheet.htm

"Although classified as a depressant, Rohypnol can rarely induce excitability or aggressive behavior"

This is why our flower child is fighting with people in HBG, getting kicked out of bars, and seen storming around mad by her friend. It's why she gets into it with her neighbor upon arriving home.

Sleepover friend gives her more rohypnol in an effort to knock her out or calm her down. He gives her too much. From 4:45 to 7:30, sleepover friend and MR conspire to get rid of the evidence and come up with the story we are being told.

I would be surprised...typically, alcohol increases the depressant effects of this drug. http://www.drugs.com/rohypnol.html But do check out how it is sometimes self-administered in combination with other drugs.

Maybe I should get some for the occasional weekend evening that I consume alcohol. Alcohol keeps me awake.

Or maybe I'll stick with benadryl & champagne (probably just kidding)

Ha! JO, I like your style!

I don't understand why someone would call the police and then wander off.

Perhaps the neighbor and KS took their argument outside and one of them was unconscious when LE arrived the 2nd time?

Early news reports said KS’s keys were found in her car. The car was impounded so LE is probably waiting for lab results… I think something is in the hopper. :moo:

Also I want to make sure there was an actual second call.
I want to know if the same officers responded.

Here is NY there was a case of "officers" going back to an apartment of a pretty girl who was drunk - faking additional calls from her in order to assault her.

I want themt o look at the officers too. Just in case. MO

That's very interesting.

I hope something's in the hopper. I hope what looks like stagnation bordering on lack of effort is actually masking furious activity.

If KS was feeling especially confrontational that night, anything could have happened in the 20 minutes between the last 911 call and the arrival of LE.

Nothing's off the table. Including the possibility that a stranger perp was lurking about.

Yep. Nothing is sacred.

One more thing - I think we are assuming there was a second bedroom, but he says when he woke up he thought she may be in another room. I wonder did she have a studio apartment? Were they sleeping int he same bed? Was he on a sofa and she in her room? Did he think she was in the bathroom?

According to Zillow, this is the setup of her house, which matches PalmyraDad's description.

"Good Investment Income! 2-Unit Brick Semi-Detached Home W/ Off-Street Parking. 1st Floor 1Br Apartment (Front Room Currently Used As 2nd Br) Has Access To Finished Basement. 3Br Upper Apartment Has 1 Bedroom On 2nd Floor & 2 Finished Rooms On 3rd Floor Used As Additional Bedrooms."

Kortne would have lived in the 3BR upper apartment that took up the 2nd and 3rd floors.

This is why I'm so interested in whether search/cadaver dogs have been through the entire building, including the basement.

The only article I've seen indicates that one dog visited Kortne's apartment.

A different officer went on the second 911 call. There is a link on the first thread. Am on my iPad now so can't post the link. Definitely police received 2 911 calls that night.

Really at 21 she rented a 3 br without roomates? That sounds off. Maybe she was on the 1st floor and someone live int he basement?

Since FB can't be linked, let's just say that the family is looking into all angles and is taking pictures of the area and vehicles, etc
Shouldn't LE be doing that?? Has it been confirmed if the FBI is involved? I certainly hope so. I still can't believe the local <mod snip> cops have not held a press conference. There are a lot of scared people around town.

Oh, LE is involved. It's a possibility that the family just can't sit on their hands and are doing their own sleuthing. Just MOO.

Quick rundown of what we know so far...

Kortne is at various bars downtown with CP, MR and others.

Kortne had some sort of argument with someone downtown.

CP drives Kortne (maybe MR and another?) back to Palmyra.

About 3:00 am, CP and Kortne arrive at her apartment. A short time after, the police are called for an argument between Kortne and the neighbor.

About 20 minutes later, (4:12 am) police are called again for stomping and banging. CP claims that the noise is from Kortne still being angry at the neighbor for the argument they had less than an hour prior.

4:15-4:20: CP and Kortne go to sleep. Around that same time, police are knocking on the door for another noise complaint. No one answers.

Around 7:30 am, CP wakes up and leaves the residence. Kortne is not there.

Kortne's mom stops by apartment on Monday to find Kortne's cell phone, purse, keys, etc still in the apartment, but no sign of Kortne.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

During investigation, MR's car/house are searched. Car is given back to MR (source: MR's fb).

MR sounds very defensive and angry on fb at not only police, but the parents as well.

CP seems to be keeping his cool a little better IMO

Haven't heard much about the neighbor.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Odds & Ends

MR and CP are best friends and neither have much of a relationship with the parents.

Kortne's neighbor comes off as "scary" to some.

-----------------------------------------------------------

You guys can add to this. I was mainly pointing out some of this new info to get new followers up to speed.

Isnt there some kind of horse tranquilizer?

Nice rundown, CW.

Adding:

At about 7:30 AM, CP [Guest] is texting Kortne as per video from store.

Search warrant [first page available to media] remains sealed.
