I believe previously we were only aware of, or at least only talked about, the "human remains" dog that we learned was brought into Kortne's apartment.

Don't recall discussion on thread of "dogs" being brought into downstairs neighbors' apartment when search of that apartment occurred. Only learned that recently.

Wasn't that dog both a tracker and a cadaver dog? I remember thinking that was odd.

My mind keeps getting stuck on how apparently TS and the downstairs neighbors were either all together at the downstairs neighbors' place (or maybe in the mutual backyard? or on TS's back porch?)...around 2 something (or whenever CP and KS arrived) to atleast 3:15am that night. Maybe it's not weird, maybe it's a regular thing they all do...somehow hanging out w/neighbors (and maybe others for all we know) at those hours seems like "party" behavior no matter what age you are...maybe something was fueling TS's state of mind/ mood besides just the altercation?

Many assumptions are being made that I don't understand. Remember that we are being told next to nothing about the case. Even locally, other than the few outlandish rumors, we are hearing nothing about the investigation. I don't think that the following assumptions are safe to make: That MR wasn't given a LDT, whether CP passed/failed/dogs involved or their findings/ etc.

One thing that we can't ignore. The "spot on the form" that was alluded to by LE was initially filled in with "kidnapping" and later filled in with "homicide". What happened between the two search warrants to result in this change? Obviously, the police know at least one thing that they don't plan on telling us.

I agree, I feel like they know something/ found something during the first search warrant at her place...what really puzzles me is what the reasoning for a lack of active local searches would be...I'm wondering, if there have been other sealed search warrants issued and executed could that possibly be kept from public and msm?

Just to clarify, I'm not assuming MR didn't take a LDT, nor am I assuming the pass/fail status of CP's LDT. I think some of us are just perplexed at the lack of details or the delay in releasing them...so in the meantime we're looking at all possible scenarios and maybe even backtracking a bit to the earlier info/media reports to try to piece things together. And of course questions/thoughts/theories come up.

I don't have clue #1 who is involved in Kortne's disappearance. I don't know what direction the investigation is taking (rightly so, since I am 'the public'). It's just so frustrating that someone knows something...and they're apparently not talking.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm assuming nothing. I'm pondering possibilities, not absolutes.

It is quite possible that only one person knows what happened to Kortne and that person is not likely to talk.

You said exactly what I was trying to, only so much more succinctly. :)

I don't know that there isn't. Except that if a crime scene existed in one of the neighbor's apartments, why no arrest? And her mom apparently did not notice anything out of place when she arrived on Monday in Kortne's apartment. And LE has never really said that they are sure a crime took place, just are treating it this way in case one has.

It's very odd that among the people who last saw or even tangled with Kortne, not a single person of interest has been named.

LE hasn't appeared in print or on video to confirm or deny they've interviewed anyone or conducted searches anywhere or why not if they haven't.

Interest is waning, IMO. People will only stare at a blank wall for so long, I guess.

Well, LE isn't exactly seeking to keep this in the daily headlines...they could speak out, anytime they want to. Maybe they don't need the public's help, although if that is the case, why no arrest? If they have a POI but not enough evidence, they might gather some info from the public by releasing the name of the POI.

What's crazy to me is that we have a guaranteed two possibilities and a whole lot of speculation on other theories and we hear nothing. Which leads me to to think that 2 of the 2 has to be somehow involved. I don't know. It sad really. No searches, no presses. Wtf??

I would assume that the easiest to target and arrest would be MR and CP since they were questioned in media. Cars searched and polygraphs. It's been Long enough to make an arrest if they were involved, right? I don't know anymore

So sad

Again, locals should demand the name of the public servant who was the last one to visit the residence of the missing person. The visit was official with the public servant working on behalf of the tax payers. Why do we know nothing about that visit?

In the Jaren Lockhart case, LE had to release a POI a couple of weeks ago because they couldn't - apparently - develop sufficient evidence. And there was a dismembered corpse in that case.

The released POI headed straight for Facebook of course.

Kortne, were are you?

Please come home safe.

Thanks to everyone for keeping the candle lit for Kortne. (((hugs)))

Unless it is confirmed by LE, I am not buying the polygraph stories taken or passed. And since LE is not talking, we don't really know. Part of sleuthing is looking at the so-called "facts" and trying the pieces out. As more info is made available, more scenarios are likely. Rumors are just that, although sometimes there is a grain of truth in what acquaintances, etc. reveal.

Either LE has the "goods" and is waiting for the appropriate time to strike, or they don't have enough proof to name a POI, eg, bring charges that the DA believe are strong enough for a conviction. In several of the recent cases I followed, LE was silent, then wham! Arrests were made. On the other hand, some cases from 20 years ago remain unsolved. We'll just have to wait and see.

While the disappearance of 21-year-old Palmyra resident Kortne Stouffer has captivated many people, hers is not the only open missing-persons case in Lebanon County.

Twelve years ago, a 12-year-old boy named Eric Pyles vanished after getting off a school bus in Union Township and was never seen again.

I never heard about Eric??? Hmmmm

That is EXACTLY what I was wondering myself JoCoKSEyes :waitasec: Did they even go to the door or assume it was nothing and thought they'd just skip the visit?!? Or...did she ask them for a ride to her car and something went wrong?! We know nothing about the last person to possibly see her (assuming her visitor was already sleeping as reported) or not see her. I HATE to sleuth LE and I know it's a no-no.....but he was the last one to knock on the door and w/ such a small time-frame...IDK why we have to believe that story (that nobody answered). I personally think they didn't even knock on either door (hers or the neighbors). We have young buck cops around here who think their '$hit don't stink' and get away w/ A LOT that they shouldn't (but I'm in IL and it's quite common unfortunately).

This is one of the most frustrating cases to sleuth thus far (since I've been on websleuths anyway). :banghead:

As someone who was stalked by a cop 25 years ago, I can say from experience that a badge is only as trustworthy as the man/woman wearing it. YMMV

No news, no updates..

Nothing with MR on Facebook.

I understand the quietness here. We still care but really, don't have much to go on.

Hope you all have a safe and relaxing holiday weekend!

could be a slight chance of driving herself home-from where a car might have been left

I've known it to happen, ahem, and have someone follow you... like safety in numbers is really gonna matter if a blue light approaches in some fashion
