I am not too familiar with the Amish way of life in detail, but would it be a common practice to allow someone to occupy their house without them being home? TIA.
It might be or not. How’s that for a dumb answer?

I have no idea how Linda’s home is set up, but some farms have tenant homes, mobile homes, or even one end of the main house that they rent to other people who may or may not be Amish. So seeing cars or people on your property wouldn’t necessarily be alarming under these circumstances. I wonder if they have close neighbors who do any of this. But I’d guess these would be some of the first people the police would check into—people with legit access to the home or nearby properties but not members of the Amish community.

Stumptown Rd and Beechdale view
خرائط ‪Google‬‏‏

Thanks for linking that streetview map!

Getting a visual of both roads was helpful.

Based on that, IF LS was abducted on her way home, I see somewhere along Beechdale as being the more likely grab location than Stumpdale, which appears to get at least a fair amount of car traffic.

I was thinking about whether or not LS would get into a vehicle with someone she knew if she was offered a lift home.

Based on my observation of the nightly prayer meeting they've been holding, it doesn't appear to me as though the Amish are practicing the social distancing thing as rigorously as others. I may be wrong about that.

The only reason I bring that up is that I'm not sure that maintaining the "6 feet of separation" social distancing guidelines would be something that would factor into LS's decision-making at all re: accepting a ride from someone she knew.

I’m curious about why she was considered “at special risk of harm or injury.” I know we’ve tossed around ideas but I’d still like to know why this is included.

I wonder how long ago she turned 18.

Her personality has been described as shy or not the type to want to leave the Amish world.

No one has brought up the possibility of self-harm. Just because we haven’t found her doesn’t mean she isn’t somewhere nearby.

She is likely very naive about human predators.

The thing that makes me lean away from self harm is If that happened, I would think the dogs would have tracked LE to her body if she say walked into the woods for example.
Then again, If a day had passed before LE were notified, too much time may have passed for the dogs to pick up a scent.

First responders and others have been searching the rural area where Stoltzfoos was last seen but have not found any physical evidence that can be linked to her.

East Lampeter Township police said they have reached out to the FBI, the Pennsylvania State Police and other local police departments to assist with the investigation.

Amazing how many of us live in this area and have not met, other than here. Richrd and I have met.
I was born and raised in Mount Joy. I moved south in 2009 but Lancaster County (pronounced Lankister if you’re local) will always be home.

I walk my dogs 2 miles every day down a country road in SE TX. I don’t wear headphones so I can hear cars and step into the ditch when I hear them coming so I have plenty of room. I don’t think she was hit while walking unless she couldn’t hear the cars. I can hear them for about a half mile give or take depending upon the wind. Windy days I don’t like walking because it makes it harder to hear but it takes a lot of wind or a newer high end car to sneak up on me. A couple of new Cadillacs are hard to hear until they are close even without the wind. Unless she couldn’t hear the cars or didn’t yield to traffic I doubt she was hit in the middle of the day. Being grabbed kind of goes along the same scenario for me, if you can hear them coming and step far enough out of the way, someone being able to sneak up or blitz attack seems off to me, not impossible but unlikely. I walk a Doberman and a pit mix so maybe I take for granted no one will be able to blitz attack. I know of a local woman who was jogging, wearing headphones and someone was able to surprise attack her. She was carrying but he still got close enough to suprise her. If she was walking with headphones (this technology thing is new to me for the Amish) or hard of hearing I could see a blitz attack. Otherwise I’m not sure.

A trusted friend who offered a ride? In his recently fitted van?

I’m wondering if she just took off on her own. There have been a few cases lately of women leaving and not wanting to be found for whatever reason.

it’s also possible someone sneak attacked her while she was walking.

how far was it from
Church to her home? And why didn’t she ride with her family?

At the beginning of the video below, the reporter says her home is a mile from the church.

"Amish Girl Missing," June 24th post at 4:49 pm is interesting. IMO

Morning!

If she self harmed its logical her body would be somewhere close by if she was on foot.

I don't think she did harm herself, but sadly if so...each day that passes it would emit a stronger scent of decomposition for the cadaver dogs to detect. Not less, but the scent would be enhanced each day.

Cadaver dogs have scented out remains that were many years old so they would be able to easily detect her scent if she had taken her life.

The searchers also look for vultures flying low circling over a certain area. They have long used this method because if any dead body of any kind is laying outside in the elements anywhere buzzards are able to detect it from miles away due to their keen sense of smell.

Imo I do believe LE thinks she may be deceased since they are only allowing professional searchers. I've found in other missing person cases they believe evidence of foul play may be found so the professional searchers know to not touch any evidence they find which could contaminate vital evidence needed for prosecution.

In these kind of cases I dont pay any attention to what LE may SAY to the press publicly. Instead much more can be learned by what they actually are DOING, and where.

Example: it's SOP for LE to say they have no evidence of foul play at THIS time and it's still considered a missing person case as if they're looking for an alive person.

However what they are actually doing including search locations shows it's more likely they know they are in a search, and recovery mode instead of a rescue.

She's young so I don't think she fell ill from dehydration or something else.

Imo shes been taken most likely by an opportunistic predator. Predators are high risk takers so many do their deeds right in broad daylight even on busy streets. Rarely does anyone notice or hears anything.

We have seen, and discussed many such cases over the years where a predator kidnapped their victims, both children, or adults, in broad daylight. Perhaps it's a part of the thrill or they may think no one believes it will happen in the middle of the day knowing most have a false sense of security during daylight hours.

I do believe she is most likely deceased, but her body is not in the areas being searched. We have seen unsuccessful searches before, and later by mere happenstance an outsider may come upon the remains.

With each day that passes, I move further away from self-harm or some sort of accident. Like others said above, they have had searchers all over that area for days, dogs and drones included. With the heat, by now, I think she would have been found.

Whatever happened must have happened relatively fast after leaving the church. Even if she made it home and set out for somewhere else, it appears she disappeared in a short timeframe. Do we know when her parents returned home after church? That would help firm up the window a bit.

I think she either left on her own (which seems highly unlikely based on what we know about her) or something terrible happened, I am starting to lean hard on the later. The more rural location and the lack of digital footprint which is so helpful in these cases could make it very easy for someone to have taken her without a trace or evidence left behind.

My sister re-posted a note from someone who knows Linda's family this morning and my heart sunk--I thought it was going to say they had found her deceased. Thank God it wasn't that, but it made me conscious of just how broken-hearted I will be if that turns out to be the ending. I feel this case very deeply :(

The admin on Linda’s FB missing page posted a note from a neighbor, perhaps the same one.

I believe I can post a link here:
