The thing that makes me lean away from self harm is If that happened, I would think the dogs would have tracked LE to her body if she say walked into the woods for example.
Then again, If a day had passed before LE were notified, too much time may have passed for the dogs to pick up a scent.
Morning!
If she self harmed its logical her body would be somewhere close by if she was on foot.
I don't think she did harm herself, but sadly if so...each day that passes it would emit a stronger scent of decomposition for the cadaver dogs to detect. Not less, but the scent would be enhanced each day.
Cadaver dogs have scented out remains that were many years old so they would be able to easily detect her scent if she had taken her life.
The searchers also look for vultures flying low circling over a certain area. They have long used this method because if any dead body of any kind is laying outside in the elements anywhere buzzards are able to detect it from miles away due to their keen sense of smell.
Imo I do believe LE thinks she may be deceased since they are only allowing professional searchers. I've found in other missing person cases they believe evidence of foul play may be found so the professional searchers know to not touch any evidence they find which could contaminate vital evidence needed for prosecution.
In these kind of cases I dont pay any attention to what LE may SAY to the press publicly. Instead much more can be learned by what they actually are DOING, and where.
Example: it's SOP for LE to say they have no evidence of foul play at THIS time and it's still considered a missing person case as if they're looking for an alive person.
However what they are actually doing including search locations shows it's more likely they know they are in a search, and recovery mode instead of a rescue.
She's young so I don't think she fell ill from dehydration or something else.
Imo shes been taken most likely by an opportunistic predator. Predators are high risk takers so many do their deeds right in broad daylight even on busy streets. Rarely does anyone notice or hears anything.
We have seen, and discussed many such cases over the years where a predator kidnapped their victims, both children, or adults, in broad daylight. Perhaps it's a part of the thrill or they may think no one believes it will happen in the middle of the day knowing most have a false sense of security during daylight hours.
I do believe she is most likely deceased, but her body is not in the areas being searched. We have seen unsuccessful searches before, and later by mere happenstance an outsider may come upon the remains.
