Thank you. That worked.
I think the surveillance video was the cam footage from the windmill with the cam mounted on it. I don't believe there would have been audio recording anything that JS said to Linda.
Fourth paragraph here https://nypost.com/2020/07/13/search-for-missing-amish-teen-linda-stoltzfoos-continues/ I can’t copy the text but that’s where the info is in the story.
I also understand there isn’t audio but her demeanor may convey how she was feeling as she walked to his car with him. MOO.
Praying for peace and closure for the family.

If the surveillance camera shows he never put a hand on her then he may have simply said, can you help me, my child is sick and she would have walked right over and when she was close enough he would have put her in the car. Especially since it was parked right in the middle of a lot of buildings in an area she felt completely safe in. it Is horrifying.

The FBI missing persons flier describes what she was wearing. LINDA STOLTZFOOS — FBI
Some of the confusion about the color of her covering comes from the fact that the initial missing person info from East Lampeter police said she was wearing a white covering. It was later changed to black, since that’s what she left church wearing and never got home to change into the white covering she would wear for anything but church.

I realize this may be taken down because we aren’t supposed to discuss religion on WS; however, I’ll throw it out there because I think it’s germane to the discussion of how JS got LS in his car.

As a Mennonite, I feel the description on this website accurately conveys the doctrine of nonresistance LS would have been taught.
Amish Faith and Their Beliefs - LancasterPA.com

If you look almost to the bottom at the numbered points, you’ll see the practical applications of nonviolence and nonresistance that are a cornerstone of the Amish faith and could explain why LS would have not tried to fight or flee if JS told her to get in the car.

It was later changed to black, since that’s what she left church wearing and never got home to change into the white covering she would wear for anything but church.

And the other reason for confusion is because folks are thinking all events took place within one area (in terms of Amish rules and customs).

But it appears that when LS was seen in JS's car, that was NOT in her own area. They were in a different area, where black headcoverings are not worn. So whoever saw her in the car noticed the black cap partly because it's unusual in that area where the car was -- even though it's the norm (for church) in LS's home neighborhood.

I think maybe a good analogy is suburban American high school sports uniforms -- everyone in the neighborhood of a specific school is familiar with seeing the football players (or cheerleaders, distance runners, etc) in their uniforms in their school colors.

But go just a few miles away to the neighborhood of a different school, and a uniform in the first school's colors will stand out and be noticed, because each neighborhood is most used to seeing their local school's colors.

Very good analogy, Auntie.

It is my understanding that she was wearing black head covering because she is single. Married women wear white head coverings.

Yes. And other than for the single ladies at church in this district, everybody wears white.

Excellent explanation Auntie Cipation and I totally agree.

So now we are all in agreement. Linda Stoltzfoos was wearing tan dress, white apron, and black head covering. Yea!!!

That sounds like a possible story his lawyer would tell. He stopped to get directions and then drove off alone. Just kidding Rosiebones. I agree Linda Stoltzfoos felt completely safe there, she was used to walking everywhere. I think for the most part we all feel safe in our own neighborhoods until something unsettling happens. I don't think 570 Beechdale Rd. has a lot of buildings; a few houses, a three bay garage, the building with the silo but that's my MOO based on what I am used to seeing in a town or city. I was blown away by seeing on Google earth, how there are long stretches of road with fields and fields of corn and an occasional house or farm set way back from the road in Bird In Hand and surrounding towns.

What a fantastic analogy! I also think that when information is given for a local area, many of us think of a "local area" as a much larger. I initially thought of the "local area" to mean the Lancaster County area... It took me a while to realize that the areas or districts are quite small - more like a neighborhood.

Thinking of it like sports and band uniforms from different area high schools is perfect!

Don't know if anyone has noted this or not, Linda's home, the Harvest Drive location of the stockings and bra, JS's house near Leaman Place Junction, The town of Gap where they were seen and JS's Job at Dutchland are all along the same railroad right of way. Hmmm.

Wow. Thanks for pointing this out!

According the criminal complaint:

On 6/23/20, a red Kia PA Reg KYB9713 was observed on Harvest road. The driver was looking in windows on the property and the owner called state police. I also wonder why the police did not go question JS about this. They had nothing to link this event to the kidnapping, however.

7/8 – a red car was observed on the surveillance video of Beechdale Road and identified as a 2005- 2010 Kia Rio. Subsequently, a record check revealed a red color 2007 Kia Rio which was owned by JS with PA Reg KYB9713.

7/10 – this is the day they enlarged and watched the video and actually saw the abduction for the first time. This also seems to be the day they put 2 + 2 together and linked the Beechdale red Kia with the Harvest Drive red Kia and went to search the Harvest Drive property and found the clothing.

They may have taken a dog or dogs along to search. One may have found the clothing. I wonder if a cadaver dog hit on freshly turned earth...or flattened grass... where a body had been, and may have since been moved. Hence them saying she has been harmed. IMO

Saw something interesting on my way home from work today. My route from work to home takes me on Amish Road and Buena Vista Road (Where JS’s car was spotted with likely Linda in it). Anyways today I was following a K-9 unit, which was driving slowly, with the dog sniffing out the window.

By slowly, do you mean 15 miles per hour...purposefully slow... or dawdling along on a country road going 40?

Like the speed limit is 40 and they were going about 30 and slowly up occasionally when the dog would sniff.
