It because of a few folks like you that perhaps this boy will get his ID someday. The good news is that the Lord knows him, the two are together right now. Someday I will join them and know this boy. Thank You.I feel the same way about you.You have done so much to help him.We need not to give up.Too many people are giving up on him.This is the Philadelphia Police Departments job to find out who he is.They need to do this.But maybe they do need some help.

Look at his face with bruises and his body with all the bruises I hope someone's conscience is really bothering them over him.Because it should be.He deserved his real name on his grave a long time ago. There were bruises on his body and legs too.He was beat.No one should have ever been hitting him this hard.It makes me mad.You tell me how someone who knows who this little boy is and doesn't say who he is can live with them selves.It's wrong.Period.It's wrong.I feel some people know exactly who this little boy is.

Has anyone considered one of the Klein brothers? They were recently added to NamUs. Even the youngest would've been too old by the time our boy was found, but maybe he should still be looked at?

Some people certainly knew at one time, but the people who knew may be long gone. The boy was most likely killed by a parent, step-parent, or other guardian. I think it's extremely unlikely that he was ever reported missing.

If he was mentally retarded, his family may have been ashamed of him and may not have taken him out of the house very often, in which case few people would have known of his existence.

I think you are right on track with this thought. Children with disabilities and handicaps were not treated well in those days and it seems this child had some problems and even a surgical past which I think may have been problems that he had at birth that were operated on at that time perhaps in a totally different area.
The foster family seems the strongest lead to me. It would be typical to save resources and cutting blankets would be one way to do that. He was malnourished and perhaps had curls which would explain the haphazard cutting of his hair. What else could there be about his hair that would cause someone to cut it? I think the nails were trimmed because they might have been stained or had something that could link it back to his identity.
Random Rambling Thoughts.
I doubt he was raised as a girl. Does anyone know if that was common in the 50's? I've not heard of cases of that.

I always click hoping for him to be identified. I almost don't care anymore if we ever find out who caused his death- if someone did- I just want to know who he is. I just want the world to know his name- sweet baby. At least in my eyes he is flying high and free now!

So I had a thought.. I have been searching through people searching for adoptees in the Pa data base..

I wonder if the child was put into a group home for adoption by a single mother hoping to give him a better life and then was abused and killed in home.

It makes sense to me with how he was found and condition. If he was in a home they would most likely have cribs and cradles and may have a box for one that was bought or donated..

Still searching through but some are looking for children given up as far back as 1932..

So when do we think he was born? To me he looks like a small 6 or 7 yr old.

So maybe 1950-1952??

Yes.I have always thought he was put in a Orphanage,foster home or some type of institution.I do feel he was possibly adopted out through somewhere or someone said he was.I have looked at many people adopted out everywhere.I put a few of them on here awhile ago.
