DNA Doe Project has mentioned that they specifically have decided not to take on any child Doe cases because child Does are most often killed by family and that creates complications when it comes to their relationship with GEDmatch, the DNA database they use... too much potential upset basically as people who submitted their DNA to GEDmatch could have unwittingly implicated family members in a crime & could raise a huge stink about that. It's very sad but I guess they had to make that calculation.

This isn't relevant to Boy in the Box but I also know they are avoiding non-white cases (sadly) because there are so few non-white people that have uploaded to GEDmatch that it makes finding their identities such a huge long shot to the point that they can't justify spending the resources at this point in time. They are optimistic that will change in the upcoming years though.

Totally agree with the reason why they may not take on children's cases, but, most likely, with this case, the perpetrators are most likely deceased, it's been 60 years. But, I get it.

I'm pretty sure they've decided to not take children's cases across the board because even if the perps have died in this case, their descendants are still around, you know? And it's a pretty gruesome family situation to be pulled into. I guess it doesn't hurt to ask them though! You might get a quicker response through their facebook

That's sad.I personally think they should take this poor little boys case.Is there any other place that does this type of DNA testing and see if they can take The boy in the box's case? I hope and pray LE is really checking DNA with possible relatives to the boy in the box like the article said they were.

I agree, Ms. Suzanne, only I'm not sure of any other groups who may do this sort of thing. From what you stated, it sounds like investigators may already be going in that route, but these things can take years and years.

They seem very nice.They said they might consider him later.I pray they do.It is really so good for them to do this for other Jane and John does.It really might help find out who they are.DNA is so very powerful.
