If she was hiking or collecting something, such as shells or mushrooms I can see why she would tie the bag to her person. Those are just examples. What would someone collect nearby?

Everyone needs to remember that these pictures of Andrea are from years ago. It’s been said by her family and friends that she doesn’t look like this anymore. She had gained quite a bit of weight and gone through some pretty rough times. I briefly saw a recent pic of her on FB when she initially disappeared and I can tell you that I thought it was another person altogether until someone mentioned it was a recent photo and that the ones on her missing posters don’t look like her at the present time. I don’t think this unidentified is her. JMO.

Wonder why they are using old pictures that don’t look like her now on her missing poster? That doesn’t make sense.

Well I’ve always heard everyone has a twin, somewhere. It could be this UID and the missing lady Andrea have ethnicity in common. English, German, etc.

If she is anything like me, I run and hide when a camera comes out  Just say no to selfies! lol

Single mother-of-two, 37, vanishes near her home in Kentucky | Daily Mail Online

KY - KY - Andrea Knabel, 36, mother of two, Audubon Park, Louisville, 13 Aug 2019

I don't think it's her. Noses, jawline and eye/eyebrow spacing don't line up to me.
I think once she's identified, it's going to be a DV case. By the contusions and scratches that are viewable, it looks to me that she was badly beaten before being placed in the river. JMO

Right, Andrea Knabel's sister has confirmed Andrea is not the Delaware River Jane Doe. But that was a great catch; they had many similarities. She asked people not to keep posting the picture of DW JD on the Facebook page as its disturbing. Well, YEAH. Who would do that? Here's a picture of a dead woman, maybe it's your sister? OMG.

If she doesn't look like this now and there are more recent pictures wonder why are they circulating the older pictures? If I had a missing loved one I would want the most accurate picture of what they looked like JMOO.

Looking at Andrea’s Facebook, she posted the same pics this year. Where does her sister say they are old pics?

I found that the Oakville Grocer bags can be bought online and shipped nationally, so she may not be from California at all.

It's impossible to tell from the picture whether most of those injuries were from before she went in the water, or came from being banged and scraped around by the current, or are possibly the result of decomposition. The ME could tell, but for whatever reason they didn't include it in the public file.

If as @proctorelites suggested she had the bag tied to her so she could gather mushrooms or berries, she might have been looking along the riverbank and fallen in by accident.

Good eye-- the stats match. But Delaware River JD doesn't have any tattoos and Lindsay has a tattoo on her wrist.

Thanks, I missed that.

I guess it would depend where she entered the water. It doesn't seem she was in the water tooooo long, since she is relatively preserved. (I am no expert on decomp of course.)
I think the bag is a really big clue. Why it was "tied" to her... I'm sure the investigators are pursuing this, but I think it's the best indication of what she was doing before she went into the water. I am curious if they found that she drowned, or was deceased before she entered the water...

I know, I can't help but wonder if this was noticable in life or a consequence of being hurt prior to death or being in the water. I know that being in water can distort features. And were her teeth broken already? Also...the bag... I feel like most people don't really tie bags to themselves. Why would someone do that? Maybe a traveller or transient person?

maybe someone tied a bag of rocks to her and the bag broke...

My profile pic on FB is ancient.... And a lot of the "new" pics that I post aren't necessarily very fresh either.

I'm a little south of Louisville and Andrea's disappearance pops up on the news every so often. Missing Persons cases of any kind should be rare enough that none should ever be considered "normal" or "commonplace." But whenever I read about Andrea and see new details, whatever happened to her just seems stranger and stranger. I thought that learning new details about something/anything would make everything clearer, not even more confusing. Like possible sightings (several of them?) of her across the river in Indiana since she disappeared? I actually haven't researched her or anything (I should go look at her thread). Just going by what I remember seeing on the news.

With the case at hand, have they determined cause of death yet? I found a video that said they're still working on that, but it was all of 13-seconds long, so not a big source of info. And it was at least a couple weeks old.

Was she a murder victim or could this be an accidental death or suicide?

I wonder about the bag being "tied to her." It could have been around her neck to suggest strangulation or suffocation (i.e. intentional death of some kind). It could have been tied around her arm or leg. That's such a vague description...
And was this bag like something you'd take your lunch to work in rather than bring groceries home in? If that's the case, I wonder how the "lunchbox" bag could be tied around anything (if I'm correctly imagining what I think something like that would look like).

But it sounds like it was intentionally tied in some way or had some kind of knot to suggest such. So it wasn't just litter that got wrapped around her somehow while she was in the water. Right?

I wonder what caused the marks around her neck.. I can understand the marks on her forehead and the bruising on her nose.. but the marks around her neck look strange.
