I have a question about the law book in Ray's office. I've read/heard two different scenarios -- one that the book was left open to the page describing procedures for replacing a DA, and the other stating that the book "fell open" to that page when the book was opened. Do any of you know for sure which it was?

According to the reporting, it fell open.

Some people have suggested that RFG had looked if up at somepoint when he was in the office.

I tried it with several books, hard cover and soft, and I could not duplicate the effect roughly 4 days later. Only if the spine was broken, or had been opened up closer to when discovered, would that happen.

Personally, and without additional evidence, I think someone checked on 4/17/ or 4/18, and either forgot or was sheepish about admitting to it. That is an opinion.

The report I read said (IIRC) that it didn't "fall open", but rather Mark Smith turned it upside down to try to discern which page it was last opened too. I'll try to find a link. Much has been lost over the years, but I know that this was stated as much in the old (2006ish) forums.

I think it was something like that, but I'm having difficulty describing it.

I has been noted in the past that RFG usually marked pages with post-it notes. It could be a clue...or not depending on one's opinion of events and how much "conspiracy theory" one wishes to include in their pet theory. Just speaking for myself, I prefer a bit more scientific means such as having the code book fingerprinted, but that ship sailed long ago. It did however provide tempting fodder for the media and others to speculate with. I have added it to the long list of missteps and lost opportunities during the investigation. KA had her own opinions on the book.

Since (if I remember the facts correctly) the book was found on Monday (and there are conflicts on where it was found), it would suggest it was placed on Friday, which does not follow the time line unless it was RFG that Fenton saw on Friday...or there was someone else involved.

Exactly.

Snipped a bit.

If he was there Friday, he should be on the tape.

Not necessarily true. And LE never stated that he wasn't on tape, just that the tape was inconclusive.

Well, the did say that he wasn't on the tape, but that it was not conclusive to if he was there or not.

At least the rear door camera is directly over the door, and while it does show the whole of the lot, much less Bellefonte, does completely cover the door.

Or an associate. Is it possible that with the review of the tapes that they were looking for RG and completely failed to evaluate the movements of "others" because they "belonged there"?

I think somebody who "belonged" there did open the book, but not on 4/15. Somebody could have wanted to what would happen if RFG turned up dead. That would be a natural response in the situation.

On this point, you and I agree.

JJ I do know you looked through a lot of stuff lets bring something else into this everyone else can add something if they can (Professional Dress Code) for men and women as to what they wear and for what type of work they do like a bartender,waitress,C.P.A,book keeper, lawyer, business owner, construction worker, house wife, police officer, and so on now so RG takes friday off (leisure time) so instead of sleeping RG gets dressed jumps into car (mini) takes off in the morning (what was he wearing ??) and takes a leisurely drive down the road to where no one knows so how far could he have gone there is always 1 that see's something and a very few that get to see a lot of things which happen right in front or on the sides of them like 360 all around them I want you to picture a female in his car with him how do you think she would be dressed like ???

The clothing that was missing was shirt, jeans a blue fleece pullover, sunglasses, and tennis shoes. The temperature was cool enough in the AM for a pullover (mid to high 40's). RFG was driving east in the morning, so sunglasses would be useful. It got up to about 70 in Lewisburg, so it is likely he removed the fleece

Being at the SoS in the summer, it was very casual dress there.

I think a female in professional attire might stand out.

Here is the State College weather for 4/15/05: http://www.wunderground.com/history...reqdb.zip=16801&reqdb.magic=1&reqdb.wmo=99999

Well, obviously, a woman wearing something quite revealing would stand out. It was fairly casual, and I was overdressed wearing a dress shirt, but I wouldn't say standing out. A woman in a tailored suit, for instance, might stand out. A woman dressed casually, sweater or tee shirt, would probably blend in quite well.

No, I don't know. I did not understand your question.

I checked the weather in Lewisburg. It was in the 70's on 4/16, but was in the low 60's on 4/15.

This would be for friday morning dose anyone know what for shirt RG was wearing I am sending out a sos

The color was represented as medium blue in at least one, if not more, supposed " re-enactments" of the stroll around the SOS, and in the Mini. I believe there may also have been flyers showing a photo with a lightweight blue pullover. That does not prove accuracy of color, but leads me to believe an ordinary blue polar fleece type jacket. Not represented as having a sports team logo or other outstanding identifying marks or emblems. I believe they were going by clothing missing from the closet, and the outdoor temperature that day, as J.J. has said.

Why is this even still a question?
