But drug shipments are not alive. They don't need to breathe. A live child can't be put in a suitcase and placed in cargo hold.

Please don't tell me that international kidnappings don't happen. Of course they happen. There are many other cases besides this one that still could be international kidnappings, some of them discussed right here on this website.

You mean, like maybe they decided they wanted a SEVEN year-old beauty queen with blonde hair and a millionaire father who WASN'T molested? Guess they'll have to go back to the playground.

IMO the millionaire father doesn't matter, since they could have been after JBR not money. And your opinion isn't shared by those who matter, like LE, the coroner, her pediatrician, none of which stated she had prior abuse.

That does bring up a point. JBR's blonde hair is natural or not?

Not...so maybe the Small Foreign Faction kidnappers decided that she wasn't worthy, because her hair color came from a bottle?

Muhammed: "Hey, LOOK Khalid...she has ROOTS!! She is just not worthy".

Khalid: (looking down, and saddened) "You are right Muhammed, she does have roots, we will just have to kill her".

Well, does she or doesn't she?

Sorry, I didn't mean to ramble...No, her hair was not naturally blonde. There are pictures of her when she was four, before her mom started lightening it, and her hair was dark. Have you seen those?

Coroner Meyer also noted that her hair was "freshly colored". Even in the autopsy photos you can tell it was highlighted.

I used to wonder if the fight between Patsy and JB broke out, during or after a hair lightening session. Maybe Patsy wanted to lighten JB's hair for the trip..and wanted to do it THAT night, while JB was tired. Anyway...I said that I USED to wonder about that...but, I am still sticking to the bedwetting scenario.

In general, I am too. Though there was the odor of chemicals in JBR's bathroom. The hairties all over the floor are an issue too, though what has been identified as hairties could have been the fabric bands from her red "potholder" loom that is shown on her nightstand. I remember those little weaving kits- I had one like it as a kid, and this one looked the same.

I think Patsy said she colored her own hair that day...so I wonder if she kept JB to the same schedule, since it would be easy to remember? Even if she didn't need it completely redone,it might have needed to be retouched. And considering the trips and upcoming pageant, she might have very well wanted to do it that night.Remember she lied about JB's hair being colored in the first place..so she might have been afraid that if the roots weren't at least touched up,then the other family members might notice it in MI,(if they didn't already know she colored it).

Holdon:

What is your opinion of the FBI?? Do you hold them in any esteem? Do you believe they are more sophisticated than any local LE?

I'd say she is a natural level 7 dark blonde with her hair chemically lightened to a level 9 light blonde.

Let's not forget the "fake" blue eyes. Maybe the captive's future husband didn't want a green-eyed bride whose mother decided she needed contact lenses to make her eyes blue. I can just imagine that phone call - "Hey- we have some good news and some bad news. The good news- we got your blonde, blue-eyed child bride. The bad news- she's not a natural blonde and her eyes are really green. "
The reply- "Oh, never mind, then, just kill her."

Blue tinted contacts on a 6 year old? Nobody would expect that. Is this for real?

Why not? Do you actually believe that someone entering their child in a beauty pageant would be above putting colored contacts in their eyes. They dye their hair, spray tan them, use fake teeth, etc. What is the problem Holdon?

He doesn't quite get just how hardcore Patsy's objectification of JonBenet really was. JB was little more than the vehicle to the crowns and sashes and trophies that Patsy wanted - needed - to validate her as a person, as a woman, and as her daughter's mother. Contact lenses on a 6 year old is right up there with fake teeth, bleached hair, and Vegas showgirl outfits meant to make her look sexy - the sky's the limit, as long as there are still checks in Patsy's purse.

In the end, even Patsy herself realized how far she went with the pageants and how other people were horrified by it and unsuccessfully tried to downplay exactly how involved she had JonBenet in them, or what effect something like that might have on a child being worked that hard for something so frivolous. When you have to tell a child to lie about bleaching her hair because you know how questionable it is but would rather do it and have her lie than not do it in the first place, there's something really wrong.

I happen to see Paul Peterson on a show last night. He played the son in the Donna Reed Show. I came in at the end. It was about Britney Spears and how her mother pushed her and used her, yade yada, etc. But the gist was he said "he has heard the same reasoning from "Pageant Mothers" when they defend why they are putting their children in pageant shows.

I just thought it was interesting coming from a child star.

The pictures of JonBenet in the bathing suit with the boa around her are about as sickening as it gets. She is what? Five. If for no other reason, you would think that Patsy would not want her child dressed like that just to make sure that some pedofile doesn't download it and use it for his own sick pleasure. That fact alone would keep me from entering or dressing my child like that.

Yes it is. I had read in several places that PR had blue contacts made for JBR. These weren't prescription; they were just to change her eyes to blue. They are actually quite common. But of course, no one else probably puts them on a child. There are many photos where her eyes are blue, and it was the blue lenses, the bleached hair and the over-the-top that made some of PR's friends refer to it as the "Mega-JonBenet Thing". They were planning to stage a kind of "intervention" with PR just before JBR died.

Holdon,
There was a documentary, not too long ago...about child beauty pageants. The mothers went to all sorts of extremes for their child to win...contact lenses, spray tans, and fake teeth (to replace the ones that had been taken by the tooth fairy)...not to mention the tons and tons of makeup..and the big, ole, poofy hairdos. Patsy was no different...she was a stage mom...who would have done anything for her child to win. Oh yeah, one of the little girls was dancing with some sort of feather boa type thing, and rubbing it in and out between her legs....very seductive for a 5 year old, don't cha think? And her mom was right there at her side, fussing at her...telling her that she wasn't "doing it right". They prided themselves in the fact that the little girl stayed up until about 5 AM..practicing her "routine"...and had to be at the pageant at 8 am. I am telling you...its a "sickness" with some of these women who live vicariously through their daughters. They need HELP!!
