Interesting that Ron says the first affair was confessed to him right when they got their new 5 million dollar building (and really expanded the church to megasize with a building to proclaim their arrival into prosperity). That huge building was probably an obsession for him and no doubt his focus was pretty much on that for years. He was living and breathing the prosperity gospel 24/7.
And isn't that just when he said Hope was supposedly having an affair? Could there be a connection. With his obsession with working and traveling all over the country, she was left alone to create a world of her own.
For instance, In the badly written article in "Destiny Magazine" in 2008 (
http://www.scribd.com/doc/10046833/Destiny-Summer-08-Online) Hope said "he Ron) will call Carol and say, will you set an appointment with my wife today I need to take her to lunch.
Ok, seriously, he needs his secretary to set an appointment for lunch with his wife? He can't just call her or ask her in person when he sees her at home? Nope he probably can't because he is never there!
Even when he was poor, he wasn't there. There was another story (somewhere in these threads) about a time when they were young and poor and he came home to find her car packed and her ready to leave. She had had enough of his constantly being absent in the home.
So I call BS on his claim that
he has done nothing wrong. Maybe he thinks he can't be faulted with anything that happened since he was never there. But THAT is a huge problem. He abandoned the marriage before she did (if she did).
So basically Hope has mostly been home or raising the Kids and now suddenly she is sent hundreds of miles away for a year? And who will care for the kids ( One is grown, the other two are in their late teens I think, so it's not like they need to be cooked for, bathed, helped with homework, driven places, etc).
I looked up more on this prosperity gospel stuff and one interesting tidbit was "Prosperity churches typically reject Presbyterian polity (or governance) and the idea that a pastor should be accountable to elders;
it is common for pastors of prosperity churches to be the highest organizational authority figure"
Prosperity theology - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
BBM - so he probably doesn't have to answer to anyone in the church. He may have just had Hope classified as an employee or advisor or whatever and could just "fire" her and have her removed. With her out of the house, he can reclaim his position and declare she abandoned it and it is now his domicile and he could possibly even file a restraining order.
These prosperity types (and the cult type leaders, etc) are very , VERY good at manipulating people. Look how they fleece their flock, gain wealth and promise the same if their flock keeps giving. They don't mind twisting the bible's words to get their way. They are going to get what they want and use God as a reason why they got it or why it happened or why they are right.
Anyhoo, here is an interesting clip about TV Evangelists/prosperity gospel types and how the gov't is interested in their tactics. For instance, apparently God gave Kenneth Copeland a 20 MILIION dollar private plane. (Ain't God good?).

Ok, I know I have probably overloaded the thread with this prosperity stuff. But obviously this money is important to Ron. It is his proof that God favors him. I have seen murmurings about how money is going to quickly because a huge part of this whole issue of Ron and Hope. It's important to see the mindset and the factors that drive the Apostle" to do the things he does and how he accomplishes them.
