People being detained and "exported" by ICE

i would also like to remind everyone living across the world, the link below is a big reason why many us citizens are and have been upset by illegal immigration policies over the past few years - the cost to us taxpayers. this is in addition to the serious violence inflicted by known/judged illegal ms-13 and tda gang-members. the cost to house them in cecot is far less than we would be facing if things had continued under biden-era immigration policies. i've snipped a quote regarding the fact that even those illegal immigrants who pay taxes cannot balance the overall fiscal burden to our country. also, there are many reasons why nearly every country - if not all -has laws and regulations regarding illegal entry/residence. imo, legal entry and continuing to abide by the laws of the usa is fine. illegal entry and failure to obey our laws isn't fine.

The fiscal burden of illegal immigration is due to several factors. First, because illegal aliens usually havelow incomes, those who do pay taxes pay little, if anything. Second, illegal aliens incur significant coststo the taxpayer on a daily basis, because public services such as policing, K-12 education, emergencyservices, etc., are provided universally. Further, due to loose eligibility criteria – intentional or otherwise– many illegal aliens receive benefits from federal, state, and local jurisdictions, despite the fact thatthey have no legal status.

eta - freedom isn't free. there 'ain't no free' people, there's a cost paid by someone living now or gave their lives for freedom and the us constitution/laws. and, respect is earned. imo
As an addendum to my prior comment, you list the issues that are a burden on public services like emergency services and policing. As far as I can tell those services are readily available to other people who are not American citizens, eg. tourists and long term visitors with legal status like snowbirds who spend several months in the US in the winter. Are you going to start kicking them out the country, too? I mean, most of them are elderly probably with health issues. They may have health insurances from their countries but they are still going to be utilizing your doctors, hospitals, your ambulance services and policing services. About 1 million Canadian snowbirds enter the US every fall. If a undocumented immigrant and a snowbirder never engage any of those services are they showing respect? Are they getting respect? How does respect enter the calculation? I'd hazard a guess that a large swath of born and bred Americans have zero respect for the rule of law. IMO

I don't think this is about Irish people.

yes, we will have to agree to disagree.

Illegal immigrants are a significant net fiscal drain -- paying less in taxes than they use in publicservices. The primary reason they create more in costs than they pay in taxes is their relative lowlevels of education. Based on prior research, 69 percent of adult illegal immigrants have noeducation beyond high school, compared to 35 percent of the U.S.-born. As a result, they tend toearn modest wages and make modest tax contributions even when income and payroll taxes aretaken out of their pay. This fact, coupled with the relatively heavy demands they make on publiccoffers -- especially for education, health care, and means-tested programs -- is the reason theyare a net fiscal drain.

You know who that was written by? Steven A Camarota who is one of Stephen Miller's henchmen when it comes to demonizing immigrants. Since Jan 20, 2025 downloading anything under a .org website is nothing more than propaganda. Sorry.

the us justice department shared documents regarding abrego-garcia. the two-time accused wife-abusing, illegal guy living in the usa, abrego-garcia had over 1100.00 usd in his pocket just loitering with his innocent 'friends' - one of those friends was a real sweetie but i'll refrain from mentioning his name here as it may be against ws rules... although it's easily seen in the documents

that poor abrego-garcia, so young at 22 in 2019, and only 1100.00 cash to his name. all the years he was living here in the usa... he just didn't feel it necessary to go through the legal process of becoming a citizen. not paying one cent in taxes. then when he's legally deported he chooses to stay.

there's your poor tired huddled mass right there, miss liberty... full blown disrespect. this gang-member doesn't deserve my pity.

How is this a problem? Why shouldn’t we want universal healthcare FOR ALL?? How has every other developed country in this world figured out how to provide access to healthcare at low (or free!) costs except the US? Why does the average American have to choose between paying a large medical bill or putting food on their table? Why are health care companies a multi billion dollar money making corporation? The reason we don’t have universal healthcare in this country isn’t because some illegal immigrants are getting access to Medicaid. Again MOO.
It's not free, universal health care. It's paid for through our taxes whether that's Canada (where I'm from), Italy, UK, France, Spain, etc. We all pay, gladly, because we think having access to healthcare is a right not a perk. Canadians have no interest in letting poor people die because they can't afford cat scans or drugs for diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer or heart disease. Or being bankrupted by medical bills. It's kind of ironic because I think many Americans pay much more for medical care from private insurers than we do in taxes.

We need to keep in mind this gang field interview sheet is from 2019. It wasn’t created last week. In addition, he beat his wife. Not an upstanding guy in my opinion.

If we get this guy back I’s will be dotted and T’s crossed and he will be deported. imo

for those captivated by the headline, don't forget to read the last paragraph. i wouldn't be surprised if other news outlets won't even include it.

In a statement released Tuesday afternoon, CBP officials called Bachir Atallah's claims false.

"The traveler's accusations are blatantly false and sensationalized," the statement said. "CBP officers acted in accordance with established protocols. Upon arrival at the port of entry, the traveler was appropriately referred to secondary inspection – a routine, lawful process that occurs daily and can apply for any traveler."

I've had a 'secondary inspection' and my husband, too. No one pulled a gun on us or asked to go through our phones and computers. We waited quite a while while our data was reviewed and were eventually released. At no point in time did we ever feel we had to call an immigration lawyer or any lawyer for that matter. I think what you are forgetting is the enhanced inspections that are now being conducted appear to be conducted on people with funny names and physical appearances that fall within DJT's parameters of what Muslims look like.

So you’re okay with zero due process? What actual crime was he charged and found guilty of? What crime did he commit to be deported?

When we fail to learn from history we are doomed to repeat it

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

In addition, he beat his wife.
Seems like somebody wants Abrego-Garcia gone, no matter how bs the "charges" are.

In case you somehow forgot, his wife said they had an argument and she filed a restraining order only because trauma from a previous relationship convinced her to do it. But he never escalated and they moved on with their lives.

Was this supposed to be for "Truth" Social?

That’s what should have been done in the first place. He may not have been deported if it had been. But at least he would have received the due process he and the others who were exported should have received.

It was more than an argument and I believe her.

Jennifer Vasquez Sura mentioned an incident on May 4, 2021, in which she alleges that Abrego Garcia "punched and scratched her eye," causing her to bleed.

That same day, Vasquez Sura said that when she told Abrego Garcia that she needed to go to a store, he "got angry, started yelling again to the point that he ripped [her] shorts and shirt off."

"And I ran to the bathroom, he [ran] behind me and grabbed me by my arm," Vasquez Sura said. "I have marks on my left arm as well."

"At this point I am afraid to be close to him," Vasquez Sura added. "I have multiple photos/videos of how [violent] he can be."
(…)
In the 2021 documents obtained by ABC News, Vasquez Sura noted two past incidents, alleging that in 2020, Abrego Garcia hit her with his work boot and that in August 2020, he hit her in the eye.

Could you please provide a link showing that Forbes Breaking News on You Tube is actually owned by Forbes magazine? There's nothing listing that on the YouTube Channel, nothing listed in their Wikipedia and nothing listed on the Forbes.com website linking the two. Happy to be corrected, but I am not seeing any relationship and the You Tube channel is incredibly biased, imo. ETA: The Forbes mag logo is black with a white F, not red with a white F as the You Tube channel logo.
Unfortunately, it appears that Forbes owns Forbes Breaking News. It appears to be a way to expand their audience to MAGAs without losing their regular audience.

I also believe her when she said this:

"We were able to work through this situation privately as a family, including by going to counseling," Vasquez Sura said. "Kilmar has always been a loving partner and father, and I will continue to stand by him and demand justice for him."

Wife of deported Maryland man Abrego Garcia said he hit, scratched her in 2021 court documents

I did find this interesting tidbit on their Wiki page.

In July 2014, the Forbes family bought out Elevation and then Hong Kong-based investment group Integrated Whale Media Investments purchased a 51 percent majority of the company.

In 2017, Isaac Stone Fish, a senior fellow of the Asia Society, wrote in The Washington Post that "Since that purchase, there have been several instances of editorial meddling on stories involving China that raise questions about Forbes magazine's commitment to editorial independence.
It's a very strange YT channel. I do believe it does have some connection to Forbes but the purpose of it is kind of murky. Forbes was sold to another murky company call Magnum Opus Acquisitions sponsored by L2 Capital which has its headquarters in West Palm Beach. Hmmm, who lives in West Palm Beach?

I was reading a Reddit thread about it, and I think the guy who created the thread is right on the money. Lots of patched videos that make no sense, some seem to be staged and appear to be geared to Trump supporters. I don't think I can link the thread but you may be able to find it under 'the very strange case of the Forbes Breaking News YouTube channel.

I posted a few posts ago that yes, it is connected to Forbes. I saw that other thread too.
