People being detained and "exported" by ICE #2

"The signs , emblazoned with “ARRESTED,” feature photos of the migrants, as well as their apparent crimes — including “first-degree murder,” “sexual abuse of a child,” “kidnapping and rape,” “murder,” “rape of a child,” and “distribution of fentanyl.” White House lawn lined with illegal immigrants’ mugshots — and heinous crimes they’ve committed — showcasing ICE busts in Trump’s first 100 days

I'm glad they've all been arrested & removed. This is EXACTLY what many people voted for.

It's also exactly what many people voted against.

Lawlessness to fight lawlessness isn't the answer.

MOO.

Huh, this is interesting:

But federal data shows there has not been a significant jump in immigrants deported since Trump took office. Mass deportations have not occurred. The numbers show removals are lagging behind levels during the Biden administration.”

“We're down border crossings 96 percent, so we don't have millions of people coming across the border," Homan told reporters at the White House. "Just to compare our removal numbers to (Biden's) is just ridiculous."

Homan also told the New York Times, "We need to increase the arrests ... They're not high enough."”

What..is this a competition?? Must beat Biden’s number? 🫤

IMO, yes! And this is why they don't want due process. Due process would prevent the charge from being "pick up anyone who looks brown, we need higher numbers!"

MOO.

I don't think it's about increasing Biden's numbers. I know we only have less than 4 years to remove those in the country illegally, and secure our borders.

I do think arrest/detainments will double or triple in the coming months. The partnerships with Homeland Security and States and localities won't reap many deportations.

I'd like to point out, Biden's deportations were never or rarely reported by the media. It's not the Trump administration comparing to Biden, it's mainstream media.

Moo...

Because Biden had the class and decency not to make a mockery of deportations.

That isn't really the definition of human trafficking. But much illegal immigrant entry to the US is actual trafficking.

It is the definition if they're getting forced labor out of them. Certainly there's exploitation, if only for Trump's popularity numbers. But for the sake of argument, let's say it's not for that purpose. It's still state-sponsored kidnapping to force someone onto a plane and send them to a prison/concentration camp in a third country.

MOO.

Facts matter. If linked from the US Immigration website.

An immigration hearing, it's to provide proof a person is legally in the United States. Visa, DACA, work permits, can be used in favor for the immigrant.
The immigration hearing or any hearing is ....a due process.

I agree, they will have the right to file for asylum, after a deportation hearing. All the cases I've seen in the media, are well past the one year limit and no mention if they fall into one of the categories listed below.

If you are in removal proceedings in immigration court, you may file a defensive asylum application to present your case for asylum to an immigration judge who will adjudicate your case. Visit the USCIS website

If, you fail to file Form I-589 within 1 year of your arrival in the United States, you may not be eligible to apply for asylum under section 208(a)(2)(B) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).

Also a person much also meet one of the following. It's a little more involved than just saying I want to apply for asylum. And also does not guarantee a person can stay in the country (parol), while the claim is pending.

Every year people come to the United States seeking protection because they have suffered persecution or fear that they will suffer persecution due to:

Race
Religion
Nationality
Membership in a particular social group
Political opinion

I'm not aware of any allegation that those deported are being used for forced labor. In fact, the opposite is true. I would suggest that most labor by illegal immigrants in the US is exploited labor. It is the reason behind requiring LEGAL immigration as opposed to ILLEGAL.
And it can't be for Trump's approval since his approval continues to decline and he knows it. In fact, i think that is part of what frustrates so many and baffles his opponents: Trump doesn't care what his approval ratings are.

Eyeroll.
I’m proud & happy to be white.
I’m long past tired of other people thinking I should feel bad about it.
I dont.
I never will.

All IMO
I agree that no one should be ashamed for what they look like.

I felt ashamed for what I looked like by how some people in this country (US) treated me, and it took me a long time to not feel like that—partially due to my growing a thicker skin, just growing up, the passing of time (post WW2), demographic shifts, and the evolvement of social attitudes.

Speaking generally, not to anyone here in particular—My feeling is it’s fine for any to have pride in our cultural identities, as long as we don’t believe we have superiority over other groups. Just about any group has positive attributes and accomplishments—while also having terrible atrocities somewhere in their histories, as well.

What’s important in today’s world, imo, is sharing our identities in positive ways, and accepting people different from ourselves.

WHEW!

It's so reassuring that it's the Trump administration that decides what judges are breaking the law or obstructing federal law enforcement officials from doing their jobs./S

Trump doesn't decide who breaks the law. Congress enacts our laws and our judicial system is task with enforcement of our laws.

In order for a judge or anyone for that matter to be arrested a warrant is required. A judge somewhere, felt there was enough evidence to issue a warrant for the judges arrest. That's exactly the way the system should work. When judges decide to take the law in their own hands, there is an ethical and legal obligation to pursue legal action.

If a judge is convicted, it can put previous decisions in jeopardy.

Ok, I mean, forced to sit in a cell for 23 hours a day isn't any better, IMO.

In fact, the opposite is true. I would suggest that most labor by illegal immigrants in the US is exploited labor. It is the reason behind requiring LEGAL immigration as opposed to ILLEGAL.

It's impossible to know the numbers. But if it's the reason behind requiring legal immigration, then one wouldn't think we'd also deport legal immigrants. But here we are.

And it can't be for Trump's approval since his approval continues to decline and he knows it. In fact, i think that is part of what frustrates so many and baffles his opponents: Trump doesn't care what his approval ratings are.

I couldn't possibly disagree more with this.
