People being detained and "exported" by ICE

A Cromwell woman was left stunned after getting an email from the federal government telling her to leave the country, but she said she was born a U.S. citizen and has never been in trouble with the law.

“It is time for you to leave the United States.” That’s the first sentence Lisa Anderson saw in an email she got from the Department of Homeland Security on Friday.

“The language seemed pretty threatening to whomever it might actually apply to,” she said.

She thought it was spam at first, but the email was very real after Anderson had it vetted.

What created confusion is that Anderson, who’s a physician and lives in Cromwell, was born in Pennsylvania and is a U.S. citizen.

She now carries her passport on the advice of attorneys and is looking for representation from an actual immigration attorney, worried about legal repercussions, something Anderson never thought she would ever need.

This comes just days after two Boston immigration attorneys got the same email from DHS, despite being U.S. citizens themselves.

A senior DHS official told NBC Boston that Customs and Border Protection has been sending these emails to people who do not have lawful status in the U.S., saying:

“If a non-personal email-such as an American citizen contact-was provided by the alien, notices may have been sent to unintended recipients. CBP is monitoring communications and will address any issues on a case-by-case basis."

This article says that govt authorities are getting around potential asylum hearings to stop individual deportations by moving the detainees around.

Kagan — who heads the UNLV Immigration Clinic — said that the government has continued to skirt that ruling by relocating individuals to different facilities and giving judges less than 24 hours’ notice before proceeding with a deportation, which gives little time to prepare.

According to court filings, just a few days before his scheduled hearing for asylum and bond, Viloria Aviles was transferred from the Nevada Southern Detention Center to a facility in New Mexico and then shortly after, to another facility in Texas — effectively canceling a bond hearing that was scheduled to take place at the Las Vegas Immigration Court.

Kagan and other attorneys petitioned for the temporary block shortly after Viloria Aviles’ relocations.

“They provide[d] no explanation,” Kagan said about the transfers. “They insist on being able to do it with no oversight whatsoever.”

What a way to run a country!! It's like a Ruritanian opera, where people go out to the woods and shout at the clouds, and talk to bees.,. , or one of Ionescu's plays, where agitated people enter stage left, and shout gibberish at the audience then stumbled off stage right, and hot on their heels here comes another crazed looking person, tottering in from stage left, screaming gibberish, at the same audience, this goes on for hours..

Honestly. USA GET A GRIP ON YOURSELVES.

It is all so wretchedly INEPT.

I think it's very tactical.

It's like that urban legend often attributed to Arthur Conan Doyle, that as a joke one day he sent urgent messages to five of his friends reading, 'Flee! All is discovered!' and one of his friends disappeared.

If they send enough of these out, every person who is frightened enough by it to leave of their own accord is a win, in their book. It's someone they don't have to black bag off the street and imprison and deport themselves.

MOO

I mean, these people. all carefully chosen, apparently, all chosen for their management skills, and leadership talents, and capacity to carve thru problems, and deliver solutions and pivot on a dime with the correct process are turning out to be THE WORLDS BIGGEST BUMBLERS. Bar none. Vance, a yammering ning nong, , Little Marco, a tonguetied liar, Hegseth, a half tanked lush with a pickled brain, .. dear lord.. Bondi.. words fail me. Lutnik.... a registered four star fool.

You would NEVER dream that they had 4 years to refine their plans~ !!

!! it's as if they dropped from the sky, after sleeping for 4 years and started to thrash around , running from one side of the room to the other, hurling bits of paper, shouting and crying, tariffs, NO tariffs, immigrants, water pressure in the shower, Canada. NO China .NOOOOOO Panama... tariffs, money, Harvard, LUMBER , more LUMBER, Border Patrol, NO build a wall, LUMBER, bloody California, TARIFFS.. on and on, all day, all night, setting each other's hair on fire... In totters Vance, GREENLAND, NOO Am I in Panama? or .. NO. in rushes little Marco, do what the president says, LUMBER, Tariffs I know nothing, .......on and on I know!! send letters!! to where?? I don't KNOW just send them!!

Detailed article about some of the Venezuelan men sent to El Salvador. They are not gang members, according to their families in Venezuela. Kafkaesque.

We see this word a lot lately regarding government actions. Even in this dictionary discussion.

Timothy Snyder, professor and expert on tyranny, author of “On Tyranny”, posted this yesterday…

Yesterday the president defied a Supreme Court ruling to return a man who was mistakenly sent to a gulag in another country, celebrated the suffering of this innocent person, and spoke of sending Americans to foreign concentration camps.

This is the beginning of an American policy of state terror, and it has to be identified as such to be stopped.

yes, it is, and it takes a very long time to unravel the intricate embroidery of the incremental loss of liberty. It's a speedy process to lose it, it's a slow hard hike to get it back. If ever. Like frogs in hot water, who fail to recognise when the boiling begins , it's like Earnest Hemmingway when asked about bankruptcy, he said ..' first it goes slowly and quietly, then at the end, it's fast,'

ICE to temporarily release detained migrant so he can donate kidney to his brother

A Venezuelan man who was detained by immigration officials after he traveled to the U.S. to donate a kidney to his brother is set to be released from detention as early as Friday, according to a non-profit organisation representing his family.

González, who is being held in the Clay County Detention Center in Indiana, could now be released on humanitarian parole to “save his brother’s life”.

“ICE will temporarily release José Gregorio González, allowing him to save his brother’s life through kidney donation,” Eréndira Rendón, the chief program officer of Chicago-based The Resurrection Project confirmed to NBC News.

I'm not going to believe it until it happens

I think this is absolutely the case. Because otherwise it's straight up incompetence...which to be fair...
