""The bottom line is there is still a lot of work that needs to be done," Dylan's father said Thursday. "And the single most important work that needs to be done is continuing the search to find my son’s remains."

He also pointed out that only 2 percent of Dylan's remains have been found.

Dylan Redwine's father tells 7NEWS police didn't inform him about 'person of interest' in son's case

"Find my son's remains," he said again."

BBM When that is done, his murderer will be revealed !

July 4th - Mark thinks he is the POI based on history. Yep, I agree with him.

Klismet has not identified the person of interest, but Redwine said it would be fair to say that authorities have previously indicated that they were primarily focusing their investigation on him.

"Everything that has been said is being implied," Redwine said.

When first called Saturday morning for comment, Redwine brusquely stated, "At this point I'm not talking," and hung up the phone.

A half hour later, he called back, apologized over and over for "being rude," and answered numerous questions about his life following his son Dylan's death and about a civil lawsuit filed against him by his ex-wife Elaine Redwine.

I hope this means there will be an arrest soon. I've never forgotten Dylan.

Maybe Mark only THINKS he called them. Just joking.

Maybe LE wants him to stew in his own juices for awhile. I'm sure they have already asked him all of the right questions by this point anyway.

JMO.

Not quite it seems:

Klismet said Saturday that Redwine is not being completely forthcoming about his characterization.

"I'd be more than happy to speak with Mr. Redwine whenever and wherever. But he wants to do it on his terms. He wants to speak on the phone. If he wants to talk we're going to sit down face to face or we're not going to do it," Klismet said.

He said items discovered a week ago near the location where Redwine's remains were found were very promising in terms of evidence.
"We do expect to be saying more in the next couple of weeks," Klismet said. "We're getting close."

I bet Ol' Mark is just dying to know what they found by the burial site.

I think LE knew exactly who the profiler was going to hone in on. LE has always known. They don't have blinders on. They just don't have any proof. JMO
And now they do because this profiler found what they were missing?

After 3 years?

I think I'll just sit back and watch how this unfolds. IMO if they knew he was a POI all along and this new evidence confirmed it, why hasn't he been arrested? Still not enough or whatever was supposedly found will not hold up in court. IMO

More from retired FBI profiler:

Just this week, a major development, a person of interest was identified.

"My opinion matched up with what they thought and that's the point at which we said, okay, so now I think it's safe to say that we have a person of interest," said Klismet.

We had a search here, they did a search about a month ago and some additional items were found. Now in the process of evaluating whether or not those items are evidence or what they are

"We also want to look at why did this happen," said Klismet. "Or, even more importantly, sometimes I've found, which is true in this case - why didn't certain things happen."

I'm hoping that what they found in the most recent search at the burial site will go through some forensic testing and give ' proof' of something. :please:

I've followed this case only peripherally & haven't ever been a firm believer in MR's guilt but you have something here. Psychologically, this is interesting.

""The bottom line is there is still a lot of work that needs to be done," Dylan's father said Thursday. "And the single most important work that needs to be done is continuing the search to find my son’s remains."

He also pointed out that only 2 percent of Dylan's remains have been found.

Sounds to me like he's saying... 'Slow down, you're not playing the game right. You can't arrest me yet, first you have to find where I've hidden Dylan and then and only then can you blame this on me.' Like he's been so sure all along that he couldn't be caught because proof would require finding more than 2% of Dylan's remains.

Pretty strange for a father to be told there is now a person of interest in his child's murder, and respond with... there's still more work to be done!? I would complete the sentence something like, "The bottom line is there is still a lot of work that needs to be done, before they can name (me) a person of interest."

IMO

I think if you give Mark enough rope he will hang himself here . He likes to be the smartest man in the room and it will eat him up that he does not know what has been found .

Agree.

I think we could be looking at a variety of goals by LE here:

1. Exert pressure on the POI - assuming their POI is MR, releasing this info alongside the WD suit being filed could be calculated to add pressure. We know that MR's "word salad" increases when he is in a defensive posture. Get him on the record contradicting himself so you can build a case to present to a grand jury for an indictment.

2. I think the prosecutor's office might have something to do with Klismet being consulted. A completely independent 3rd party with no knowledge of who LE is looking at, comes up with the same POI? That's pretty strong for a prosecutor to take to a grand jury too.

I'm sure there is more to LE's strategy here. And from what we have heard on MSM of MR's latest comments, I'd say it's working.

Just my pre-morning coffee $.02

It's going to be so telling if LPCSO ever described Dylan's remains as 2%. I cannot imagine an investigator saying that. Mark sure likes that description, though.

Mark stated to the media on June 27, 2013:
Denver Post: "Ninety-eight percent of Dylan is scattered about the countryside."
Denver News 7: "Based on the conversation I had with law enforcement yesterday, they've only found two percent - or approximately two percent - of his remains. That means there's 98 percent of my son still strewn about the countryside."
KOAT Albuquerque Action 7 News: “They got 2% of his remains. That means 98% of him is still scattered out in them trees somewhere.” “They found I think two femurs, a shoulder blade bone or something to do with the shoulder.” “They can have a homicide all they want to but if they think I’ve had any involvement with it then why am I standing on my front porch having this conversation with you?”

And to People, on Jul 8: "Where's the remaining 98 percent of my son?" Redwine asks, his voice cracking. Police told him wild animals likely ravaged the rest.
[BBM] Q. Why is he able to [remain free] if LE thinks that MR committed a homicide?
A. Because there is no statute of limitations on murder.
Q. Where's the remaining 98 percent of Dylan?
A. Sorry you had to go to all that trouble, MR, but you don't need a body to convict.

When reading this artical this jumped out at me

We also want to look at why did this happen," said Klismet. "Or, even more importantly, sometimes I've found, which is true in this case - why didn't certain things happen

I assume they are looking at the fact Dylan didn't text anybody the day he vanished yet normally a avid texter .

Why Dylan made plans and never turned up .

Also, certain things didnt happen that a concerned parent might do. Mark returns home, to find his son gone. And he takes a nap? He does not immediately react and go call his friends or go looking?

Well I am waiting to hear who the POI is from the investigators.

I hope to see this case resolved soon..

I hope to see this case resolved soon..

Here are a few clues as to who the POI is:

"I have yet to be wrong on a case and I'm not wrong on this one," said Pete Klismet, a retired FBI criminal profiler of Colorado Springs. He was brought on the case in January. He's confident with his investigation.

Just this week, a major development, a person of interest was identified.

"My opinion matched up with what they thought and that's the point at which we said, okay, so now I think it's safe to say that we have a person of interest," said Klismet.

That^^^^^ tells me it is Mark. Because the cops thought it was Mark and apparently the profiler agrees. JMO

I will wait for official confirmation. I like facts.
