"personal hygeine" of JB

  • #201
he didn't come out and directly say it.he drops a lot of hints throughout the book.that's open to speculation, but just like the broken window and him trying to account for his fresh prints there,I think he's trying to account for his underwear fibers in her room,in case anything was found.I don't know as he was q'd about it,but he also dropped hints about his prints being on the walk-in fridge, and apparently he and Patsy were worried that their room at the Stine's had been bugged,b/c Patsy dropped a hint about that, too.
I can only guess there's more we aren't seeing, since they bothered to put things like that in there.

I have heard or read....I cannot remember which, that the Stine's had some sort of noise maker in the bedroom that the Ramsey's used, to help them sleep....and John said that even if the room WAS bugged, and anything important WAS said.... nobody would have been able to hear anything, because of it.

That's a strange thing to say.

That's a strange thing to say.

I thought so too....it seems like it was on one of his televised interviews...I will do a search and see if I can find it. I just remember it, because we have an air purifier in our bedroom too, just so it can make white noise, and drown out background noise...so that we can sleep better. It stood out to me, because we do the same thing...my husband cannot sleep without it.

I understand the concept completely. Of course I haven't seen or heard the whole conversation surrounding the statement so I cannot say "it seems profoundly out of place"... but it seems almost like sticking your tongue out and saying "you can't catch me"

To be honest, I have read all of his interviews, and have never before read that underwear fibers were found near JB's bed, but maybe I missed it. Let me know if you find it, I would like to read that for myself.

he wasn't as far as I know of,but regarding the whole book,he and Patsy both appear to cover themselves a lot b/f the fact,as if they are afraid of something LE knows that they don't...

ex: DOI,pprback,p.13:

For the first time I am aware that I have been racing around the house in my underwear.I hurry back to the third floor bedroom to grab my clothes.I stop in Jonbenet's room and look under the bed.

and another:

p.15:

I suddenly remember our large walk-in refrigerator.Could JonBenet have been put inside, trapped there?I open the door to check. She isn't there.

and another:

p.16:

I race upstairs and find a pair of binoculars.I start looking up and down the street.
There's a strange vehicle in the alley behind the Barnhill's, I note.
-------
**this one covers him doubly...his fresh prints on the binoculars (and maybe he'd left them out accidently, plus he 'sees' a strange vehicle (notice he didn't say car, truck,SUV or whatever),and behind the Barnhill's at that..another family he can cast suspicion on!

and the finale (I'm sure there's more, but for lack of time, this is it for now):

p.162:

Although we could find no visible indication of it,we worried that our bedroom at the Stine's might be bugged. If so,all the police or media could have overheard was the sound of crying and the dull drone of the white-noise machine Susan had put in there to help lull us to sleep.

-----

so it sounds like there were some pretty heavy duty conversations that went on in that room they were worried about, even though ST's book says they were never allowed to do a T-3 on them, even though they wanted to do it, and thought they might could get something pretty incriminating from their conversations.
still,it seems they were still worried enough to bother to include that in their book.

Thanks for posting this...this is the quote from him that I had either remembered reading before, or hearing in one of his televised interviews...I have been searching the web all day for it. THANKS AGAIN for posting it.

Yea, thanks. I was searching also. Funny. I read that book that the Ramsey's wrote three times... and so many things just didn't sink in because when I read it, it just seemed as though they were jumping around all over the place to things that didn't pertain.
In John's interview with the police he stated that he was showered and fully dressed before he heard Patsy's scream. So was he dressed or was he in his underwear, and why is he changing his story at the time of the book?

This isn't the only part of their story they changed. PR also gave at least 3 versions of the morning she "found" the ransom note. They also changed their story on whether BR was alseep the whole time until they woke him to go to FW's house that morning after LE had arrived. First they said he was alseep, later they admitted he had been awake but decided to say he was asleep to "keep him out of it".

Yep, three different versions. And, she mentions in a CNN interview..that I either posted here, or on FFJ...can't remember...that she was going downstairs to make coffee when she found the note, but when she is being interviewed, in 1997 and 1998, she never mentions this.

So they swept their room for bugs? Who does that? LOL

Oh, right, people with something to hide.

OH okay...so it was Patsy that said that. I could have sworn that it was John. Jay...thanks for the clarification!!

"Although we could find no visible indication of it, we worried that our bedroom at the Stine's might be bugged."

EXACTLY!!! Why else would they have looked for bugs? OR worry that their room had been bugged? Their daughter had just been murdered, if they were innocent, a bugged room would be the LAST thing that would have been worried about. AND if they were innocent, then why would they have cared if their room was bugged? Makes me wonder if the white noise machine was turned on just for that purpose only...to drown out the sound of talking or whispering. Oh ....if I could have only been a fly on the wall...

YW !
Since the R's usually twist things...in regards to their 'although we could find no visible indication of it' comment...that makes me wonder if they DID find a bug..and that perhaps no one has come fwd with any info on it..yet.IF that is the case, might they come fwd with it once JR passes?Could that be what they're waiting for?JAT.
Perhaps there is something out there even more incriminating against them than the 911 call enhancement.
It seems they were worried about media AND LE bugging them.So if it happened,it was one or the other (or both)?
My guess is the lawyers told them to say there was a white noise machine in there at that time,(and maybe there was or wasn't) but...so they could say that any sounds heard would be distorted, and open to interpretation.

odd,isn't it.
I know it was said that samples of carpet were taken from JB's room, but no one has ever said what was on them.I know stains were mentioned, but nowhere have I ever read what they were.

My belief is that Patsy waited until John finished his shower before shouting "JOHN!" She had it all planned out. The poor guy was running around in his underwear until reading the note he figured out the what of the who of the when.

Yes, I have always thought...that IF John was in the shower as he said, and as he was getting out, when Patsy yelled for him...that Patsy must have had some perfect timing. Funny how she finds the note, and yells JUST AS JOHN is getting out of the shower. She didn't scream while he was IN the shower...but, after he had gotten out. It was timed perfectly. IMO

reminds me of Darlie saying Darrin was in bed asleep, but when she screamed for him...here he comes running down the stairs with his pants and glasses already on ! convenient,to say the least. although that's probably only one of her 16 versions of it.

here's another from DOI,this is a stab at the White's,whom JR had previously said may have drugged JB at the party,pprback,p.8:

Priscilla made a small plate especially for JonBenet to make sure there would be some left for her to try.
