It wouldn't surprise me if his private attorney is negotiating the best scenarios for him that are possible regarding all pending charges. He may very well finally tell where Natalee's remains are in exchange for dropping the extortion charge--but then I would expect that he would blame it all on daddy--the killing and disposal. Then possibly, in his mind, he would have a chance of walking away from everything he is facing in less than 5 years (if on good behavior).

Joran will serve his time in Peru as they are not going to let him OFF just to give up the whereabouts of Natalie. Peru is hungry for him right now and if Peru gives up Joran to Aruba, FIRST, oh my goodness.

Then we have the USA, second in the rankings for Joran with an arrest warrant. Not sure if the rankings change should Aruba charge Joran for the murder of Natalie, either by finding her or by his admission, if he admitted it. Murder would trump extortion/wire fraud. :crazy:

But now I'm hearing that there are 2 missing Colombian women and they are looking at Joran as a possible suspect? ay yi yi! This is making me crazy!

They said on NG that it's been stated by, I believe the FBI, that Joran never left the airport in Columbia. He just switced planes.

So I guess that could put that theory to rest. I'm glad too because I was tired of them saying there's a connection, no wait there's not, no wait there is.

Now it's a NO!

ETA: It's not that the comments are off limited, it is what goes on after the comment is posted as it was getting a "tiny" bit gross last night. You know how it can go, I know someone that does "something" because .....

This is the first I've heard of it. However, I'll have to see her body found before I'll believe it. He's lied so much. But, maybe he's hoping for a little mercy if he finally reveals the location of Natalee's body.

I was curious about this too. But given we are talking about two different countries I don't know how that would work or play out. KWIM?

It just seems to make sense that he would only reveal Natalee's location if it was in his best interest. You know~ kind of like when we have people here facing a felony charge of some sort and they want to use information from a previous crime as a bargaining chip?

I don't know if it could be done in this instance. Hopefully he will tell, if that opportunity is afforded him, just to save his own skin. JMHO.

If she were alive when he went to get coffee, it makes much more sense that she jumped in the shower when he left as opposed to googling his name.

What to say...There was a broadcast..(5 year anniversary of NH missing)...and she was watching that..(there she is learning about him..not on his computer) and he returns and she asks questions and it sparks from there..

.Does anyone know if there were any TV..specials/broadcasts/..on that day..she may have seen/watched/heard/ while being in his room???..

That would make more sense to me...her seeing the story...on the TV..than on his computer...IF he became enraged over being questioned..anyone know??? thanks

My original theory still stands..He wanted her money...she said ...NO WAY!!!.....He kills her...to get it.......all in my own opinion..

Exactly. Besides, what if Natalee's body was dumped in the ocean? There's no way they'll find her until the sea is ready to give her up, and even if that's what he says, he could be lying again..... They would have to find her remains for me to ever believe what he confesses.

I agree, Patty. I heard one of NG's guests say he'll never survive in the Peruvian prison either, so I think everything else is a moot point. Even if he were to reveal the truth about where Natalee's body is, I doubt she'll be found. I think what he wanted to do with Stephany (dump her in the ocean) is exactly what happened to Natalee. MOO

I posted that very same thing and recall that I was shot down! Natalee's stepfather stated during a radio broadcast that since it was the 5 year anniversary of Natalee's disappearance the news channels started covering it at 8 am (7 am Peru time). The hotel worker who found the body stated the tv had been on since Joran left. I thought, too, it made more sense that she heard in on the telly.

Even if he does give he location of Natalee's body these are two different cases.Whatever lies he can come up with about Natalee should not have any impact on the fact that he committed murder in Peru.

I keep wondering if she went into the bathroom at some period and he helped himself to some of her cash. After he went to the store, she realized he ripped her off and confronted him when he got back, she might have been getting dressed to leave but he got back to fast.

After I watched the videos of the Peruvian prisons, I instantly felt he was not going to survive even in the lowest security cell available.
