Even if he does give he location of Natalee's body these are two different cases.Whatever lies he can come up with about Natalee should not have any impact on the fact that he committed murder in Peru.

The version of him wanting to reveal where Natalee's body is that I heard, was he wanted to 'show Aruban authorities' where Natalee was.

Does he really think they're going to let him out of the country to physically 'show' them where he dumped Natalee?

:crazy::banghead::croc:

ehhhhh,
Idon'tthinkso!!

duh!

It was getting a little gross last night.

As I see it there has been speculation since the beginning as to what set him off and WHY she was brutally murdered.. Pat Brown's theory is not totally foreign considering Joran has proven he has no respect for women..JMO

Thanks Fran & Peggy, for clearing up the erroneous nexus between JVDS and "Missing girls from Columbia". Two papers down there, are still running this story. Guess it sells papers and gets people to post on their site.

onward...

I didn't question Pat's theory, just the wording. Although, I don't agree with her theory. :)

bolded by me....Another thought...Wasn't the TV on while they were in the room together??? What to say...There was a broadcast..(5 year anniversary of NH missing)...and she was watching that..(there she is learning about him..not on his computer) and he returns and she asks questions and it sparks from there..

.Does anyone know if there were any TV..specials/broadcasts/..on that day..she may have seen/watched/heard/ while being in his room???..

That would make more sense to me...her seeing the story...on the TV..than on his computer...IF he became enraged over being questioned..anyone know??? thanks

My original theory still stands..He wanted her money...she said ...NO WAY!!!.....He kills her...to get it.......all in my own opinion..

Somewhere, early on (I'll never find it), it was mentioned that SF's family had not ever heard of JVS and the NH case. The case was quite prevalent in the U.S. but possible other countries did not follow it closely at all. While it's a possibility there was a case recap, on it's 5th anniversary, broadcast in Lima ...I have my doubts about that. It may not have even been broadcast in the U.S. if this murder hadn't occurred.

OK, and thanks! Yesterday I was reading espresso and biscuits, now suddenly it's morphed into Danish.

And did I just hear the casino is 7 miles from the hotel? I thought it was closer. :waitasec:

Sorry....I quit watching after the Danish! I just can't take her anymore. To me she takes the seriousness out of the crime.

Well I guess if one wants to think about it in a very roundabout (albeit tragic) way...Beth H's $25K did serve to finally get JVDS arrested and sent to a high security prison. Not in Aruba and not in the U.S., and tragically someone else (had to) die in order for him to finally get 'there,' but ... well....he's in prison now, and certainly likely to be there for the next 10 - 20 yrs.

JVDS was never going to reveal the true whereabouts of NH's body and what really happened that night. There is no incentive for him to do so. $250K wasn't going to do it...nor would ANY amount of $$$. Oh sure he'd take the money if offered (and did), but the truth? That's never going to come out of his mouth. I think it was naive for Beth to believe he'd ever tell the truth.

I also just checked Google maps, and the distance is about 5 miles. So the reports that they walked to the hotel have to be erroneous. I also think if her car was at or near the hotel, he needed to move it to buy himself more time before her body was found. MOO

That's the video I was referring to Patty, thank you.

I hope anyone who watches that video sticks to the end. Mark talks about the 'weak arugment' that the FBI should have arrested him before he went to Peru. He's a former LE officer and knows what he's talking about. To think that the FBI should have arrested him before he went to So. America just isn't realistic.

JMHO

PS>...oh, and anyone that tries to turn the blame of this crime onto Beth and,, or her conscience, well................is just wrong. That's all I'm gonna say about it for now......Others have already said it, JORAN is responsible for this crime! period! fran

Why was she NOT wearing pants? Would you parade around a man in your shirt and panties that you just met?

Well, I think Joran took them off of her, after she was dead, as a sign of disrespect, before he left the room. He knew she was a "somebody" and it was just his little way of putting her in her place. He knew she would eventually be found and it would be all over the news the little rich girl was found without her pants in a low class hostel.

I recall that part about Stephany's family not knowing who Joran is came directly from them on Nancy's show. It wasn't until after the casino owner had told Stephany's father that they checked on the Internet and found out about Natalee. I'd doubt the 5th anniversary of Natalee's disappearance would be on Peruvian tv as there was no connection between the case and that country. It's remembered here, of course, because Natalee was American ~ and if it weren't for Natalee, we may never have heard of Joran or Stephany. MOO

Hypothetically speaking~

If he is allowed this charge and sentence. Would he be able to only serve from 1/3 to 1/2 of the sentence? Say: the minimum could be as little as 1 year to 2.5 years? Just wondering.

Good question. I would hope not but have no idea!

I believe that Joran..will never..never..tell.....He wants to remain...IMPORTANT..and HOLD it over her head...Hold the secret...for her attention..and money..and pleadings, and begging...which he..IMO..throughly perversely enjoys....

I didn't want to mention that b/c I feel bad being that she is deceased. It looks as if she may have been a bit insecure.

At this point, who knows if it is accurate; however, one news piece mentioned that Stephany Flores was a gay women, known to friends and family as being "out". Perhaps she has a gate that is less feminine, than one might expect. At first glance, I thought her walk was a bit "wooden". Like when I have one too many cocktails... Who knows.

In any case, she seems as though she was an independent girl, travels, works the poker games, been "around the block" a few times enough to be a bit street smart. And yet, she goes to JVDS' room. I guess it speaks to how disarming a sociopath can be.

Perhaps, it wasn't that JVDS wanted "her", as much as he wanted someone to drive him back to his hotel room. And...he was pissed that she won at the tables, and he did not. She had her Jeep Cherokee, money, and independence. He had probably been "raging" since he saw her winning at the tables.

If I were in Beth's position, I would feel like I had some of Stephany's blood on my hands.
Well I hope Beth does not feel that way, because there is no blood on her hands.

She appeared to me as "under the influence" or maybe trying to not display her face - I think I heard that empty drug wrappers were found in her car.

...and here I was thinking that she really did try and get some sleep (hence she took her pants off). I know it may seem inappropriate to some, but kids do that kind of stuff. What kinda amazes me, if she did take them off willingly to sleep, she must have felt comfortable with this guy. I guess the question remains why did she go to his room in the first place? It may have been innocent for her...but what was he thinking? IOW...was this a premeditated murder...or murder committed in the course of a robbery?

Interesting, LocalGirl.
Wonder if he thought he could "stage" the scene to look as though she was murdered by a lover or some romantic encounter. Like, a lover's quarrel, that evolved into something sordid.

Why does any young women go anywhere with a complete stranger?

ETA: Why do men pick up women they never met before? I had to add that as I have a son.
