Him owning the casino is a mistake, he is not.

Yeah... I'm gonna have to wait for some other confirmation on that.

By the way,

Someone said earlier in this thread I think that the only blood at the crime scene was a little bit coming out of her ear/nose.

Yesterday I was in the supermarket and saw the national enquirer with the murder scene photos. The one with the backpack in it is actually a larger photo that shows more of the mattress.

In the middle of the mattress, there was a pretty significant blood stain. Probably a couple feet long, and about a foot wide.

Perhaps I will go buy the magazine so I can take pictures and post them here.

So if the guys who drove him for several hours were "unwitting", why are they being charged?

abbie

I thought I had read he paid them a lot of money to drive him. Maybe the police are thinking they should have known he was running from something?

Wonder why he left Aruba in the first place? He could have stayed there and gambled the rest of his life. Was he planning on running for the rest of his life, scamming people and robbing along the way? He apparently did not have worldwide notariety, only one who recognized him, apparently, was the one guy who alerted security (to no avail). I always assume if s big news to us, the rest of the world knows too. But there are people right here in the US that know nothing about cases like Casey Anthony and only passing knowledge of Natalee Holloway. Being a true crime nuts, that just baffles me.

I think he fancied himself as some sort of big time high roller of the gambling world and wanted to tour the poker circuit with the 'big boys'.

And, yes... if he couldn't make money on the tables (and apparently he wasn't very good at it), his alternate 'vocations' are scamming, extortion and robbing to fuel his addiction.

Please do not post any pictures that are not available online. IOW, if you take pictures of the magazine pictures and then post, it would be a copyright violation of the major order.

if the pictures are available online and you can link them here that is perfect.

Not picking on you  Just think it is important that everyone understand this, so used your post as a springboard.

thank you!

murder with aggravating circumstances.

IMO, the J is for Joran, the P is his middle initial (forgot the name), the S is either for "Sloot" or if he has an additional middle name beginning with S, and the "anders" is for "van der sloot"

Perfect. I'm impressed, PattyG! J.P. Sanders. LOL

I understand. From what I've seen before though it's okay to link to copyright that is on another website?

Regardless, I just wanted to make the point that the scene was in fact very bloody. It wasn't just a small amount of blood from here nose. There was a large pool of blood on the bed.

Has it been confirmed that the NE pics are legit yet??? I saw a diagram online of the position of the bed, body, nightstand etc in the room and the set up was totally different from that of the pics from the NE... (Still just wondering if they are real or not here...)

http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Media/joran-van-der-sloot-offered-give-location-natalee/story?id=10885442

Joran van der Sloot has told Peruvian authorities that he'll confess to where he put the body of missing American teenager Natalee Holloway if officials from Aruba will come visit him.

Dutchman tells Peruvian police he knows location of Natalee Holloway's body. A Peruvian police general has said that Van der Sloot, who has been charged with the murder of 21-year-old Stephany Flores Ramirez, will not receive any type of leniency or plea bargain for information on Holloway.

snipped...

Once in the Castro Castro prison outside Lima, van der Sloot will be separated from the other inmates for his own safety.

But his Peruvian attorney Sandro Monteblanco isn't happy about the move, calling the prison "Dante's Inferno."

"You hear people talk about Turkish prisons and what not, because they haven't been to a Peruvian prison," he said.

BBM... WHAT?! Why the hell is he getting special treatment?! He's no better than any other scum criminal. Grrrrr... :furious:

And to his attorney? Oh well... it's a real shame he picked that country to continue his grisley, murderous career. Pffttt...

On with the trial and conviction!

You can link to news articles and copy and paste no more than 10% of the written info. You can generally copy pictures as long as you link the source and be respectful of the originators. We do stay away from magazine covers as the publishers have a tendency to get very unhappy when we post those.
If someone else take pictures of the NE paper publication and posts those pictures on their blog for example, it is NOT ok to link to those.

Hopefully that makes sense and helps. Thanks everyone

Well, lets say he does 20 years in Peru jail and makes it through that without being killed, then does he stand charges from the US on the extortion charges? Will Peru send him to the US for those charges, 20 or so years from now? Is there some statute of limitations on those charges, or will they sit until hes avail for extradition?

abbie

Yes, he could be extradited. Wire fraud is an extraditable offence (extortion is not, according to the FBI). The statute of limitations only applies to the length of time before you get charged; once you are charged the statute of limitations doesn't apply any more.

I never buy those rags, but have been known to stand in the check-out line and look at them LOL.

Ah, I see. Thank you for that information!
