Don't forget that JVDS is a gambler.. he's been playing since he was a teenager. He is going to play that hand until he is sent back to Aruba. What happens if he says that he will not say a word unless he is sent back home? What will Peru do?[/quote]

nothing IMO

he committed a brutal crime in their country and he will pay the price there

when that sentence is finished, perhaps the FBI and Aruba can have a go at him

but his knowledge (or lack thereof) of where NH's remains are is not a bargaining chip for his Peruvian charges IMO, nor should it be

Now that he is charged, I don't really care if he is kept in a vile prison or in another facility. He will not be gambling in a casino, not chasing girls, not moving freely, and not building a future. I like the idea of a seamless future of control that he will face.

Peru is not going to release him! No way. Not with the seriousness and heinousness of this crime. Not to mention the victim is the daughter of a high ranking Peru citizen, a VIP.

Nope. JVDS is going to face the music in Peru first.

Despite what any articles might suggest, he's not leaving Peru a free man.

bolded by me....I agree with that....He is staying PUT...to start serving his time for murdering/robbing her...IMO..Peru is not interested in solving Aruba's crime....They are only interested in justice being served for him murdering S.

all in my own opinion

IMO, the J is for Joran, the P is his middle initial (forgot the name), the S is either for "Sloot" or if he has an additional middle name beginning with S, and the "anders" is for "van der sloot"

dayum, you're good

Hello everyone, I have been reading about this case in the forum and the news. I understood that he will be transferred today to Castro Castro. I would think that maybe Aruba police will go ask questions about NH, but he will not leave Peru until his trial and conviction are over.

In this article, it states that Stephany Flores' father owns the casino... ??? Is this true?

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/0...d-espresso-near-peru-womans-mutilated-corpse/

The casino is owned by Flores’ father, an influential politician and former race car driver, Ricardo Flores, Sr.

Quote from your link. Does this mean that the casino is owned by Flores (Stephany) father ,or by Flores, father of Stephanys father , in other words, grandfather of Stephany? Cos it clearly states Flores, Sr. Is Stephanys father a Jr, or is he the Sr. they refer to? Is the grandfather the political figure, cos we have circus promoter, race car driver, and political figure. Was Stephanys father all three of those things,or is her grandfather (Sr) the political figure, or what? I am thoroughly confused. Also, I read a few days ago there was a bit of scandal involving bribery with one of the Flores men. Dunno if it was her dad or grandfather. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. TIA

I cannot provide links as I am at work and only have a moment.

It is my understanding that Stephany's father is a former race car driver, beloved in Peru, also ran for president twice (after racing career), Owns many properties (do not know about the Casino specifically, and am unaware of the circus promoter info.

Hope that helps a little.

I was reading some of the tags under the peruvian stories

words like "psycho" are used

yes, I agree

I feel so bad for Stephany's family right now

A Flores owning the casino would explain how the family viewed the video so quick.

I know I have about 1000 questions, but one more- if 3 judges have decided hes guilty or theres enough evidence to hold him, and off to Castro Castro he goes (:)) then what the heck does the "trial" consist of? Does he get credit for time served once his trial find him guilty and hes been in prison x number of years waiting for the trial?

I don't think Joran will ever reveal what really happened to Natalee. There just isn't any benefit in him doing so. It breaks my heart that her family will probably never be able to bury her. I'm so sorry that Stephany and her family had to suffer because he wasn't stopped sooner. But, he has really stepped in it this time. There is no going back now.

Maybe I misunderstood. I thought the poster thought it meant VDS would be released to Aruban authorities.

Perhaps Joran is trying to get back to Aruba to avoid prosecution by the Peruvian Government. I wonder if he would get amnesty in Aruba where he would avoid all criminal charges by the U.S. and Peru. Aruba and the Netherlands justice system have already given him a free pass to live in Aruba.
He can dodge all criminal charges if he is protected by the Dutch Government while hopping to their Dutch Occupied Countries.

Joran seems to think he is Untouchable.

Heres a link I found on google saying he has already been transferred to Castro Castro.

Hmmm. Wonder if Aruba is sending him a welcome basket for his arrival?
Theres a video here, I was looking for info on what the prison hes going to is like.

eta: the first few min of this video are not new, its what we saw yesterday. I didn't look at the whole thing...sorry if its just a rerun of what we've already seen...

The guy is pretty delusional, eh?

I'm with everyone else who doesn't believe he is going anywhere until (maybe not even then) his time is served in Peru. And IMO, it wouldn't be smart for Aruban authorities to shield him. I would think it would cause more bad blood with other countries.

In response to the original question, how did he come up with JP Sanders

Joran Andreas Petrus van der Sloot from wikipedia

Thanks Patty!
