Perhaps someone has a clarification of the last part.

A video I viewed, showed an investigative journalist of some sort, and another gentleman, at a computer screen. They appeared to be "chatting" on line with Joran, about the Thai girls. This is probably old news for most of you. Sorry to be repeating it here.

This Thai connection to sex-trafficking, does have me going back to that 2008 interview between Greta Van Sustseren's interview with Joran. And her discussion of the interview with his father, Paulus. And later, with Joran's attorney. It involved yet another "story" of Joran selling Natalee H. to a trafficker. Was this yet another story to give him street cred, in the world of Thai trafficking? Or was there a kernal of truth in it.

JVDS has had the opportunity to be around a sex-trafficking trade since he was young and impressionable. Recall the sordid case in 1998 or 1999, where the young daughter of Virginia vacationers disappeared. Was later seen by a navy guy, in a house for prostitutes. But disappeared again, when they followed up on the lead.

My suspicion is that JVDS has been nurtured by the soft underbelly of a hideous world of sexploitation, in Aruba.

JVDS is not criminally insane. He knows right from wrong. If fact, he ran to Chile after the murder, which is consciousness of guilt (i.e. knowing he committed a murder and knowing it was wrong). Further, he attempted to disguise his appearance by lightening his hair, another indicator.

We've never going to know what exactly set him off. Why? Because he's never going to tell the truth! It could be anything...or nothing...he is known to have a hair trigger temper. He has no impulse control. He is also known to be a pathological liar--and likes making a game out of lying and then lying some more.

So all of this is interesting, but ultimately a fruitless exercise in guessing with no confirmation.

But: he will not get away with the crime, he is not insane, he knows right from wrong, he does display what is considered psychopathic tendencies, he is remorseless, he is a liar, and he will not ever change at his core. He is what he is. He was that way when he was 13 and he's the same today (just larger and even more dangerous).

He will do just fine in that Castro Castro prison--he's physically larger than everyone else, just as cunning, will get more cunning and cutthroat in the days ahead, will make his little deals on the side, and will probably have a few guards eating out of his hands eventually. Don't you (all) worry about poor little JVDS. He is not a lamb to the slaughter--he earned his way into that prison and will fit in quite well.

There was a special last year on one of the channels, Lock up Abroad marathon. I had never heard of it, I started watching it, and watched it from 5pm to 1am. I was astonished! What a show, yipes!

I'm always looking for it, but never saw it again. :furious:

It certainly gave you insight on the legal systems in other countries.

It's on the NatGeo channel. Really scary and eye-opening! I'm hooked.

Based on what we've seen of the recent nude photos of the perp that have been circulating, he has not been endowed with any natural means of keeping those pants up.

I play poker online a lot and when I look at that screen name I see:

Not to mention the fact that with a screen name that begins with "AA" he would appear near the top of most alphabetical lists.

I was wondering about clothes, too. Those clothes he has on have to be pretty raunchy by now. I would imagine he's been doing quite a bit of sweatiing. Ewww

Wouldn't that be something if he spent his life in a Peruvian prison? I couldn't think of a better punishment (not even the death sentence). Pure mental anguish for the rest of his life as he has done to Beth Holloway and Stephany's family.

Good point!! At first I was hoping someone would "help" him into the next world. However the more I think about it, a life sentence just might be the best thing.

I wondered about that too, I've been googling it, all I can find so far is some wear their own clothes, and others who are not able to, I'm not sure why, must wear a uniform. I will keep searching.

This just made me think of another question for some of our experts, do psychopaths or whatever he is, have a history of committing suicide? I seem to think not. but I really don't have any expertise.

I think its on this basis his attorney is going to move heaven and Earth
to get him out of Peru. The claims of coercion have only started.

If I were in charge, Joran would never leave Peru, unless he completed his sentence alive.

Unless NH or her body is (grammar police: should this verb be "are" instead of "is"?) found, I would not believe one word Joran has to say about where she is.

I wonder if he has been allowed to take a shower yet, since he is wearing the same clothes.

I also wonder if his mother is going to give him money so he can buy food and toiletries, make phone calls, and all that. Does anyone know how the food/toiletries/phone calls/other (legal) amenities are handled there?
