The story about Anita still being in Aruba, and attending a film festival (!) no less, really does not ring true. It was widely reported that she was on her way to Peru a few days ago. I found it very strange that we hadn't heard anything else about this.

If somehow this is true, it is entirely out of character for her.

Didn't someone post she was going to Peru in a few days with her media advisor? I'm not sure if that was accurate either, I just read that pages ago while trying to catch up.

Speaking of media advisor, anyone with any sense should advise her not to say a word, IMO. She is better off to stay right out of the media, IMO. Someone in that position will be reamed over the coals regardless of what she says.

Maybe he was counting on the staff member stepping in the room far enough to see the carnage, and when he didn't, Joran had no reason to ask him to step in. Maybe he was going to say "my God, she was fine when I left her" (not knowing about the hallway camera yet). If he'd been thinking on his feet he could have said, "come in while I put this coffee down and I will give you a tip for troubling yourself to open my door." THEN the carnage would be visible. So the guy leaves instead.

Second issue- he reportedly did cocaine around the time he killed her or after wards. He went to the airport and saw cops and got so paranoid (as you will do if you are high on coke) he chickened out. Truth be told, the cops didn't know a thing about Stephany's death yet, they weren't looking for him! He could have hopped a plane to Aruba and been untouchable. Back in his mamas arms and bellying up to a casino table the very next night.
Gambling away what was left of Stephany's winnings.....

Re cocaine: latest reports are saying that he was not taking drugs; his drug test results were negative. He lied in his confession when he said he took some amphetamines that morning.

It's hard to understand --I have the definite feeling the guy was very into drugs, and cocaine would be quite available in Peru. I'm sure he smokes pot so I don't know how the drug tests could come back negative.

Wow - that video of him with the coffee is something else! If I had any doubt before about whether or not the coffee trip was a ruse - I don't doubt it any more. He has the second shirt on - the one he was wearing when he left the hotel for good, and the whole bit with him looking to see if anyone is watching him, and pretending that he doesn't have a key, is such an act. IMO, he clearly wanted the hotel staff to think the girl in the room was fine around the time he left. Seeing the coffee video makes me think the news reports that he told the hotel staff to not bother his girl when he left the hotel are definitely true. Trying to set up an alibi.

Why in the world didn't he hop on a plane before her body was found? Was he so broke he couldn't afford a ticket? Or did he not have his passport with him?

If he took Stephany's money he wasn't broke, and he would've had his passport, but the reason I believe he didn't go to an airport is surveillance, airport screening and if LE had found Stephany's body an airport would be the first place they'd think he'd head for. It seems he was trying to lay low. MOO

I want to see a link too, she doesn't seem the party-type, but hey her husband just died, she might have gone at the insistence of friends (can't imagine encouraging her to get out in public when all this is going on with Joran....).

I REALLY want to see a link or ANY info Joran was in a psych hospital/ institution. THAT has piqued my interest.

No neighbors, no school friends (except the one girl) no former teachers, nobody is stepping forward to tell the world "THIS is the REAL Joran".
You would think f he wasn't all we think/ read he is, someone would have leaped forward to his defense. Jus sayin. Could be wrong.

Your theory makes a lot of sense. He obviously didn't know about the camera, and he was going to pretend to find her body when he came back with the coffee. That's why he was desperate for a "witness" to him finding the body. It make more sense than him fleeing the country and then trying to claim he didn't know she was dead.

Although I won't wish for him to be harmed while in prison, it does seem like karma that he is stuck in Peru and at the mercy of their criminal justice system. Natalee's poor family was stuck with the corrupt (IMO) law enforcement "investigation" in Aruba.

Dragging her across the floor could also account for the bruising and explain the redness to her knees. MOO

'We' have heard more about Anita through Joran's new attorney, today. It was in an AP article (no link). The lawyer said: "Anita, would be arriving early next week with the family's own "media adviser.""
Sounds to me like she and Julia Renfro will be winging it to Peru soon.
She has another son, who has an interest in film, not to mention her own enrichment for her teaching career. Perhaps that is why she attended a film festival. Its not like Joran is going to be going anywhere soon.

We are only seeing the snippets of video that they want us to see. Presumably, the camera recorded any motion that occurred, so we should be able to see anyone going in or out of the room at any time. If I was Joran's defense attorney, I would demand to see the uncut video, from the moment Joran arrived at the hotel on May 14.

Without seeing the entire tape, we cannot know the entire story.

Unreals... there are SO many things I'd like to address from your posts. I'm almost beginning to think you're trying to pull our collective legs in an effort to tease for your upcoming book.

But, I'll start with this question. If you think the whole thing is one big giant set up to frame JVS stemming from Mountainbrook (which you won't reveal), then why do you think he confessed to killing Stephany in such rich detail?

Wow, I would think better of him if I found out he had drugs in his system. Its at least an excuse for such heinous behavior. So hes drug-free? OK, hes got a few marbles missing, he's like the new-age Jeffrey Dahmer, Charles Manson, etc. Not since BTK have I read about such a sick sick person.

He needs some intense therapy, like yesterday. Unfortunately I doubt Peru is going to provide him with intensive psychotherapy to get at the root of his issues and work through them, etc like he MIGHT get a shot at IF he was in the United States and had money. (Otherwise, in the US, he'd just be housed for x years with the crazies in some max security prison.) But being in Peru, where I imagine he will be for many years, the slim chance of rehabilitating him so he is not a monster the rest of his life, is lost. He might one day be able to graduate to a locked facility where he has his own place, a job to do there, etc. Something so he's productive but not on the streets to kill people. JMO. But no such program exists in Peru, its literally dog eat dog there and he will not only not get any mental help of any significance he will become an even worse criminal. Where is he to go after Peru? I hope a whole lot of solid charges are ready to line up against him, cos he should NEVER be out with society again. JMO

Dahmer and Manson were also heavy drug users... not an excuse but if Joran did this clean & sober than that says a lot.
