Watching the video I feel awful too - but for Natalee and Stefany who had their young lives suddenly snuffed out and for their grieving families. Joran acted like an animal and deserves to be treated like one. JMHO

I understand....as a mother of two children, nothing could help my grieve if they were murdered. I would be forever damaged by a crime like this towards a family member. I was trying to point out that society should not lower to the mentality of criminals and become brutal and lose all humanity. He deserves punishment but it doesn't have to be the same evil and cruelty he showed his victims...otherwise we become like him. JMO

If they locked an animal in those conditions, there would be a huge outcry. Joran needs to be locked up and off the streets. My question is, if Joran survives his sentence in Peru, and is released can you imagine how much worse he will be? There is no question that he needs to be locked up and off the streets. I don't have sympathy for Joran but I'm not happy that he or anyone has to live like that.

IMO

This wouldn't surprise me at all. Look at how many people sent money to Casey Anthony's jail account. But I think Peru is very different place I bet more than half the money would never reach him. Of course most of that was only in the beginning.

This brings up another subject...Early on, on one of the news shows someone mentioned when they were talking about the motive for SF's murder as money, that they guessed the $50,000 JVDS got yearly wasn't enough for him.(sounds like something I would hear on NG but I don't remember for sure)

Does anyone know if he does recieve some type of yearly trust or allowance? If so that money could definitely affect his prison stay...JMO

Geraldo's producer Guillermo on now saying Joran fired his lawyer. This was told to him today after lunch. Busy day in the jail, people wondering if anyone was coming to visit Joran. Joran fears for his life inside the prison; refuses to eat the food. Guillermo saying his fear is justified. People have no sympathy for him.
