Peru - Stephany Flores, 21, murdered in Lima hotel room, 30 May 2010 #15

I've watched many of the videos that have been posted. I'm struck by the strangeness of Stephany's movements...the way she walks mostly. Many have commented that they thought she might have been drugged. The autopsy results seem to indicate that she had neither consumed alcohol nor drugs. I mean no disrespect, but was Stephany autistic??? Her demeanor in all of the videos I have seen are strange/different???

I've been thinking but in no way do I want to say anything disrespectful because, quite frankly, I don't care how she walked - we all have our quirks., It's been pointed out that she had her period at the time of her death. If it was during the first days (can be very heavy at age 21) and she was wearing a full size pad that was filling up, it may have caused her to walk with her legs further apart (not wanting to smoosh the 'wet' pad between her legs). Sorry to be so specific about this but I have thought this all along as Stephany's side-to-side walk has been mentioned a few times. For ladies who have always only used tampax you can't relate but for those who have used pads maybe, yes? If she was only wearing a minipad, then scratch this whole theory.

The odd thing about the 8:24 pic with Joran returning to his room with the coffee is that he is reaching for the doorknob as though the door was left ajar.

That or put coffees down while unlocked door first.

I think the reason why they didn't realease the video is because it points out a prominent lie in Joran's confession. He claims that the murder happened after he returned from getting coffee and he caught Stephany on his laptop. He also claims that after he threw her to the floor he took off his white shirt and smothered her with it.

So he claims in his confession that he was wearing the white shirt when the murder took place. The coffee video clearly shows that he was not wearing it when he went for coffee so that is a glaring contradiction.

Actually, in his written confession he says the murder took place only 30 minutes after they got to the hotel room. When asked why he went out for coffee after he murdered her he says that he doesn't know why he did it.

It wouldn't surprise me if Joran has or ends up with a fan club of at least one member besides his mother.

Oh for sure! There's a multitude of groupies for every high profile murderer that I've come across.

Anyone have the Peruvian newsites bookmarked? These stills came from video, so it must be on one of those. I don't speak Spanish, so me looking would be a mute exercise. I have been googling for the videos though. Nothing so far, just short clips.

This one is when he's talking to an employee at the desk...I believe it's during the 'fake' coffee sequence when he's getting someone to unlock his door.

It wasn't the correct picture, I was trying to point that out by saying I had the shot so it couldn't be the right one because I missed the earlier ones that were removed!

No handcuffs, unarmed guards, synthetic wood flooring, the menus [the chicken dish and the alternate choice from yesterday], along with the cell that could pass for a dorm room if not for the toilet hole in the floor.

CastroCastro doesn't seem as bad as I expected.

I agree, different country, different customs. Hole in the ground are squat toilets. Very common in most areas of the world and really nothing wrong with IMO. The clinical incarceration in the USA , especially solitary, are sometimes more cruel to the social animal called human IMO .

I was eating dinner while watching Jean C. report her Castro Castro visit on HLN. I had to close my eyes when the camera panned to the toilet, sink area for fear I would lose whatever dinner I had already eaten. I noticed she did not mention anything about the smells, which must have been overwhelming. Jean must have taken a long shower and gave herself a good scrubbing when she returned to her hotel. I wouldn't be surprised if she is given an exclusive interview with Joran talking about prison conditions, how he is treated, commenting on the food, etc., excluding of course any questions about the case. When the camera showed the clothes that Joran was captured in hanging on the wall, I noticed that his pants had a large beige patch on the rear end. The patch was larger than the patch we saw when he entered the plane for his trip from Chile to Peru. I think Jean is doing a remarkable job in her reporting from Peru.

JeanC: police told us no drugs in his system; but collection of forensic evidence in the hotel room

JVM: what leverage do u have if u can't bring him back to Aruba>to get info about NH, body, etc.
