Peru - Stephany Flores, 21, murdered in Lima hotel room, 30 May 2010 #20

I'm late to the party, but I remember her father (and brother?) referring to her vehicle as a 'pick up', 'truck' and 'jeep' as well. I wondered at the time if this was more things lost in translation? I think it's an SUV, which I suppose could be referred to as any of these.



Her peculiar gait has been mentioned many times. I appears to me that her left foot turns inward a bit. It's especially apparent in the video in the casino where she walks up to the table and greets JVS with the hand shake/fist bump. She also swings her left leg slightly up and inward in that video as she approaches him. Also, in the tape of her entering the casino where she's coming up a few steps, she grips the railing with both hands and looks like she has some slight difficulty manuveuring the steps. I don't know if it's an actual club foot or deformity per se, but it's definitely unique to her walk, IMO. This may explain the odd angle of her left foot in the crime scene photos.

IIRC, in one of her father's interviews, he states that her demeanor and walk were not normal on those videos. He believed she had been drugged.

(CBS/AP) A Peruvian judge on Friday denied a defense motion to void the confession of Joran van der Sloot in the slaying of Stephany Flores.

The motion claimed the confession should be dismissed because the attorney representing van der Sloot at the time was state-appointed.

Superior Court Judge Wilder Casique rejected the habeas corpus move made on behalf of Van der Sloot, who is jailed pending trial on charges of first-degree murder and robbery in the May 30 death in his Lima hotel room of 21-year-old Peruvian business student Stephany Flores. He met her while playing poker in a casino.

Joran has anger issues. I don't believe he planned on killing Stephany but he just flew off in a fit of rage. The whole crime scene is a testament to that. He wasn't thinking when the crime happened. It was impulsive. IMO, I'd believe aliens attacked her before I would believe that someone killed an innocent girl just to set up Joran. That theory is illogical and makes no sense to me.

But that's just it- he looks TOO guilty. Five year anniversary of Natalee's disappearance. A dead body left behind in a room registered in his name. A security camera right outside his room, catching the victim and Joran going in, and only him leaving. Few crimes are that cut and dry. Few murderers are that stupid.

If someone really, really wanted to get Joran, and finally punish him for a crime they think he commited and got away with, and wished for a perfect scenario, could Joran possibly have done a better job of granting their wish?

He should have tossed the laptop, another brilliant move to still have it on him when he was arrested.

Joran is depressed, suicidal

Joran claims "the man" contacted him, and asks if he needs money.
(I guess "the man" did not wire him the money.)

Right after this, Joran contacts the Holloway's for the 250k reward money.

He is paid 25k, yet doesn't give John Q. Kelley a legitimate location/scenario.
"The truth"...His ace in the hole for continued extortion on both sides.

Joran told Patrick van Eem that at 10 years, he would receive a substancial financial settlement. From whom?

He leaves for South America. He's paranoid, depressed, broke & desperate.
He meets Stephany. He knows her father is wealthy & powerful. He knows Stephany is gay. He has made a friend with Stephany. Yet, his addictions override this. He knows he is going to drug her, batter her & rob her. "The man" would know this crime was done by Joran. Had Joran proved himself as going from a snake to a lion?

The crime scene has Joran's "fingerprints" all over it. Had he wanted to be found out?

Thanks for that. I've been trying to contact the hotel to see if the room had a bath in it. This is crucial- if Joran's room had no bathroom, then it would have been impossible for him to clean up after this (at least the way it is being described now) bloody crime. If he left to clean up in the bathroom in the hall, then that should be visible on the video.

He certainly looked clean (and calm) when he left the hotel.

When the Hotel Tac website was available, it showed a rather modern shower stall in photos of the rooms. I haven't been able to access the website recently.

It shows some photos in this link, FLNY. But I'm not sure the shower stalls and baths are available in all rooms. I'm sure there was a sink and toilet in the 'economy' rooms, though. Sure would be nice to know for sure.

I'm pretty certain that the room has a bathroom as I did a search and found a dodgy forum (I won't post the link as it has these crazy almost naked women ads) where guys share reviews on where to take their partners or other women or hookers and they mentioned that the cheaper room has a bathroom with a shower.

Joran was well paid by Terror Jaap, through Patrick (deVries), from lonely people on-line who gave him their 'pin' number, some posters elsewhere when he claimed he was in a Thai prison. All his interviews netted him alot of money. He blew it fast too.

Now this brings me to another comment. I saw a post here and can't find it again, about Joran and Stepheny at the tables. I can't seem to find the original video either but at the time, I watched it several times over and over, and saw that when Stepheny was walking in and close to Joran, and as he got up to welcome her, she dropped something on the table near him and he immediately put his hand over it and moved it to his side. I thought it could possibly have been money she loaned him, because after that they both played again. He didn't cash in but she did.
