Maximo can play around all he wants spending Joran's money, or rather Anita's interview money but the bottom line is that the Judge likely won't buy into that, it's a waste of time, and they have the goods on Joran, that is rock solid evidence of murder.
I think it's somewhat strange that Altez quit at first because his family were under threats. What changed? No more threats? I think this high profile case will give him some fame before he retires.

I am wondering if it's because of the money. We now have someone going to the prison with food for JVDS twice a week and coincidentally the ex-girlfriend doing another interview in the Netherlands. I believe she may be funding or helping to fund his defense.

The Miguel Castro Castro prison is a maximum-security jail for serious offenders, including murderers and rapists. Those who can pay rent a cell for themselves, those who can't sleep in the corridors. Often several men have to share a bed.

So someone is paying for him to "rent" his cell (I always wondered how he was able to just request his own cell and they accomodated him) and to have a woman bring him food and other neccessaties twice a week along with paying his private attorney. The Dutch Embassy may also be giving him money to purchase things. I have to hand it to his mother, she is very resourceful. Considering she has never been to Peru throughout this ordeal, it appears as though she has managed to get Joran set up pretty well there. Would any of us have been able to accomplish this for one of our family members so quickly under the circumstances? I guess that's why he's trying to make a money from interviews as well. To make sure that he always has enough money to keep him in his own cell and to buy whatever he needs in case his mother runs out of money.

I wonder if these same conditions apply if he is moved to Lurigancho? Can he rent his own cell there too? Can he just decide to stay in his own cell and not have to be around other inmates in common areas? It just seems weird to me like he's got himself set up in some really bad motel but he can still call the shots as to what he wants to do all day. :waitasec:

Not only a waste of time, but a big mistake on JVS's part - HUGE, IMO. I'm sure Maximo knows it as well, but what does he care as long as the money is flowing in? The end result will be the same.

IIRC, Joran's mother said in one interview that she would not go to see him, but that she would see that he had what he needed. I think she even said she would see that he could keep himself clean. I wouldn't think it would cost much to send him supplies. jmo

I'm not one for lynch mob mentality or for someone not getting a fair trial, etc. But, with all the despair and anguish that JVDS has caused to both the Flores and Holloway families I wouldn't be unhappy if he was "taken care of" so that all of this madness would end. I know it's a terrible thing to think, say and print. I know. But, at the moment ... these are my feelings.

Scary it is. Thankfully, all of this will take place in Peru, not Aruba. I think we all have a bit of post traumatic stress disorder from watching Joran get arrested, interrogated, et, etc, in Aruba, and remain a free man.

I'm waiting patiently for the DNA results to come in so this thing can start moving in the direction of trial and not distraction by the more dramatic elements of characters and personalities that breeze in and out trying to get their fifteen minutes of fame and a handout.

Is the waiting game to play out a better portion of time served? Was it 2 days in, good behavior= 1 day less? Anyway, just have to sit and watch and see what tomorrow brings.
