A video posted earlier too of his arrival motorcade looked like the motorcade stopped, they paraded him out for view, then put him back and went on their way. Did I interpret that right?

I read it was because of the crowds gathering. The changed routes the last 35km or so.

Great post. And if you go back to Natalie H's case, he said in an interview that he left his shoes behind on the beach. He didn't go back and get them because he was already going home (one of the brothers had picked him up). To this day those shoes have not been found.

Did anyone else notice at his Facebook page(appeared in a much earlier post in another thread) that for "body type" he shows 1'1" i.e. "one foot, one inch". WTH? Is he trying to brag about a specific body part here, or ...??? Maybe he got confused between metric measurements and feet/inches.

I just tried to find the link by searching at Facebook, because I'm not sure where it was in the JVDS threads, but it I can't find it. Maybe his page was taken down.

For an alibi... to make it appear as though she was still alive in the room when he checked out. Did you notice how he appeared to look up at the camera as he was departing the hotel room? Maybe there is surveillance tapes of him going back into the room with two cups of coffee.. IDK - IJDK. KWIM?

Well ever since Natalee's disappearance he hasn't been able to keep himself out of the news, whether it's his several versions of what happened to her, or the women in Thailand, and now news about attempted extortion of Natalee's family. And now this murder, ironically on the fifth anniversary of Natalee's disappearance. Looking at the evolution over the past five years, the opinion of a (FBI) criminal profiler would be very interesting. MOO

PrinceSSa, I've been wondering the same thing. I keep wondering why this smart, well educated, privileged, gay, young Peruvian woman would go to an American guy's hostel room. I'm wondering if he said he had to pick up his cell, using an excuse like this father is ill and he wants to see if his mother has called, or was picking up a jacket or something, so they could go off and have breakfast? He may have even told her he had to go and pick up some cash or his credit card (lies of course), or maybe he told her he had an American T-shirt she could have.

I think there are a number of ways he could convince her to come up for " a minute" especially if he wasn't "all over her" - so she probably felt safe.

As Stephany walks past the clerk if you look down you can see long pants with the shirt. I don't think thats a dress and I see no jacket.
As she is walking into the room I feel like she is maneuvering something like a suitcase or something, but I don't see it in her hand in the lobby.

Could someone else look for the pant legs.

Well, he did have a three day head start before her body was found, so the hair color could have been at a stop anywhere after leaving the hotel on Sunday. MOO

And when he was first picked up, the color appeared more as if it were peroxide rather than a Peterson or actual dye job. May be why faded so quickly.

BeyondB- I guess the swiftness of the capture and with the immediate conviction that strikes the human rights in us. We have for 5 long years watched the wheels of justice literally crumple in Aruba and seen the Holloway's suffer immeasurable pain, but all signs point to JVDS guilt. He was the last known person to be seen with Stephany. There are fingerprints everywhere. The murder weapon was found. The parade in front of the Reporters/Youtube-surely says we have caught this Bast....and now he will pay. The Peruvian government has been swift and resolute. Because we are Americans and we are used to the US government going through specific channels, (Scott Peterson was treated with more respect from our officials). It doesn't stop us from wondering about the human rights of any human being. I am with you there! However, I just read that JVDS will spend the next 3 days in a dungeon and then with be brought before the judges. BH in an article is stating translated from Spanish that she wants payment. (civil court, sentence for NH....).

There has to be some reason why it's believed (according to the news article that had the surveillance video) that she was killed between him returning with the coffee and his final departure. And I don't think it was simply because he took two cups of coffee into the room. MOO

Having friends from SA (Venezuela) for many years and having traveled there myself, I learned many people in the US have quite a few misconceptions about society, culture and governments there. I agree with you, Peru is fully capable of handling this situation on their own. Their justice system, similar to the systems in Europe, is fair and open.

These aren't backwards, third world countries. We often forget Peru was home of one of the largest, most advanced civilizations of the ancient western world. It's a thriving country with a great history, no more corrupt or violent than the US.

So glad with your post. I blame the misconception of many Americans on the the average high school education. As to their justice system, ever wonder why the jury system is not used in higher courts in the USA.
Peru will deliver justice to Joran in a fair way. Bet , they even will protect him while in incarceration prior to trial. All bets are off after conviction though.
Prisons are no picnic in SO but then many Americans complain that prisons are too cushy in the USA.

Done for the local and foreign media. We do the same in the USA although less subtle.
They should be proud that they captured him so fast. After all he was hundreds of miles away in a different country when they found the body.

She just follows him like she's not sure....he does not turn around to make sure she's ok, or still there behind him. Doesn't look like they are engaged in conversations as I see no eyecontact.

I agree. To me it looked like he was staging as he made eye contact with the camera with his 'poker' face.
Saunters out in a short sleeved shirt. According to Fuhrman, reports about there being a bloody struggle aren't true - according to the ME stephanie died from blunt force trauma to the back of the head and the only blood was from her nose and ear. He obviously grabbed the front of her head and smashed it into the headboard. So, he probably could have worn the same long sleeved white shirt he had on earlier.
He further went on to stage the coffee run, imo.

When I slowed up the tape, she is wearing long pants with a shirt, not a dress. However, I am not able to sense her maneuvering anything as she enters his room. His smiling at the desk, gleeful - twirl of the key - he's not drunk. Really, evil.

Yes Suzi, Yesterday I read a link saying that about her being hit with an aluminum bat in a Natalee Holloway link from 2005. It was on another site, pulled up from the time not long after she went missing. xox
