True true. And while I don't disagree with you, I would rather go to Starbucks or Tim Hortons to get a coffee. Although I am unsure those franchises were available where JVS stayed. Somewhere it was being said he went to a gasstation or supermarket<?> to buy bread and coffee.

The articles I've seen stated it was a supermarket. I'm with you on the Starbucks!

I just have a thought about Stacey going back to the room with JVDS.

Eventually we will probably find out why. But I wanted to share something that I am trying to now teach my teenages before they come of age and venture out into the world on their own.

That is in my personal experience for the most part, we tend to judge the trustworthiness of others by our own trustworthiness. Meaning, if you, yourself, will not rob, assault, lie to others then you (especially when young) assume others in your company are going to treat you the same way.

There's no telling why she went to his room but once she stepped across the threshhold she was in his world. I do believe that JVDS is severly personality disordered and probably can appear to be quite harmless to anyone that does not know him and what he is capable of doing. She never stood a chance against him once he had her in his company. Bless her heart.

Yes, this must begin at a younger age than we might wish, balanced with the fact that there are more good people in the world than evil. Balanced with the fact, that evil is not always ugly and monstrous in shape. It needs to begin prior to coming-of-age before drinking, frequenting clubs, casinos, parties, etc. is possible. Even when the lines of communication remain open, errors in judgment can occur. That being said, obviously the perpetrator is ultimately responsible.

I agree that she was most likely killed some time before he went for coffee. I believe he had the two cups of coffee with him because he either wanted to appear as though she was still alive and well in the room or they were simply both for him. He was obivously up all night and had a long day ahead of him (having to run from the scene of the crime).

As other's have mentioned, I am also confused about her car and if they drove or walked to his hotel/hostel. Are there any links to articles that could clear this up?

Oh that's not a maybe. That's FOR SURE I havent.

I'm still not convinced the coffee were used as an alibi. I am anxious to see the video parts that are missing

Yes, would love to see the video tape of his purchases at the grocery store; plus the time vs the time of video at the hotel. I think 45 minutes would be a bit long for just purchasing coffee and a loaf of bread.

Inconsistencies in reporting has been a theme. On that, the reports I've seen indicate Joran is being held in the police station's jail.

However, this blogger Jarelyn states he's in Miguel Castro maximum security prison. I don't know that she has insider info to take this as fact but none the less, the article is an interesting read.

It includes information on arrest and trial procedures and prisons.

Of particular interest to me were the sections on time to trial. Here's a little blurb.

Lengthy pretrial detention was a problem. According to a study prepared by the Technical Secretary of the Special Commission for Integral Reform of the Justice System, 61 percent of those in prison were awaiting trial, the majority for between one and two years. I got the impression it was a a min-mart type store. It was either across the street or next door to the hotel (according to which report you read). Hoping they have some surviellance tape. Although I don't think it's much needed with all the other mounting evidence. It would be nice to satisfy my curiousity. I don't like loose ends.

I don't believe he is a serial killer. I've always believed that Natalie was drugged and unfortunately had a negative reaction to it with the combination of alcohol in her system (death).

He is a manipulator of women. I'm assuming he is probably asking to speak to his mommy right now so he can tell her he is innocent so she can make the rounds on what a great boy he is.

I agree with you, he is most definitely an expert manipulator with sociopath tendencies, unfortunately that is why women end up dead around him. He will surely cry on his mother's shoulders. That is part of the game.

Does that guy Steph work for Tim Miller?

I don't think he works for him. But obviously there is a friendly relationship there for Tim to be on his radio show. I had the impression that Steph Watts had gotten Tim in trouble with the San Diego Sheriff's Dept. when he released evidence (prior to mainstream media) in the Chelsea King case & when Steph was identifying himself as a member of Search and Rescue when the King case & when the McStay family went missing. SAR issued a cease and desist order on Steph Watts & various media organizations, such as Nancy Grace, GVS, etc.

My son is fluient in many languages, spanish, portugeese, tag a log, and many local variations. He lives in the Philippines and they are 13 hours ahead of us and he is asleep, but when he wakes up, I'll send him some links and see if he has anything to add.

I don't buy the "let's celebrate your winnings" either. If they met several days earlier and been to the hostel together previously, then that would explain their behavior as they entered the room. It looked almost as if she had been there before.

Why would you celebrate winnings in a dumpy hotel room. May be Stephany was being taught the ropes on online poker in his hotel room. I still say poker playing was really the only logical thing they had in common. Maybe he wanted her to use her credit card for online poker and she refused. He just went into a rage. Can not take "no" for an answer. Hope they really examine his laptop very thoroughly.

I too am questioning the word "supermarket" as it could be something that got lost in the translation. The only thing I'd be interested in is if his demeanor was as calm as when he left the hotel for good. MOO

I too am anxious to see all the video evidence they have. I'm thinking there must be something telling on the other video w/coffee, since they haven't released it.
Also, if anyone has a link to the pics or any video of them at the casino would appreciate to take a look at them. I can't seem to find them. TIA

I'm becoming more confused with each new bit of info.

Now we hear video tracked the couple walking before dawn Sunday from the
casino to Joran's hotel. (a 15 minute walk). Where was her car? Why walk?
Didn't we all think her car would be with her wherever she was at the time?
I'm totally confused on this. Had she already left her car at his place?
I wouldn't think so, but at the end of the story that's where it was.

Had anyone else wondered how be smuggled the murder weapon into the room?
Was he carrying a bag large enough to hold a tennis racket?
I got to noticing the large, "loose shirt" he was wearing and thinking maybe he
could even conceal one under that shirt??? Anyway if a tennis racket was found
to be the murder weapon- to me that proves premeditation!! That is not an item
usually supplied with a hotel room!

I heard last night that JVDS and Stephany sat in her car for 45 mins before going into the hotel too. Then why walk?

I have read 2 accounts of a tennis racket - and a baseball bat...the reporters can't seem to get it right. However, JVDS has a long "duffel" bag with him, that could have easily held the bat, but the tennis racket was found in the room.

A thought: If he did turn himself in to Chilean authorities, then that would explain why he was not handcuffed in those pictures.
