I heard last night that JVDS and Stephany sat in her car for 45 mins before going into the hotel too. Then why walk?

I have read 2 accounts of a tennis racket - and a baseball bat...the reporters can't seem to get it right. However, JVDS has a long "duffel" bag with him, that could have easily held the bat, but the tennis racket was found in the room.

I can't help but wonder why he didn't take the racket (murder weapon) with him? Of all the things to leave behind??? This really is perplexing to me. Odd.

I don't think he works for him. But obviously there is a friendly relationship there for Tim to be on his radio show. I had the impression that Steph Watts had gotten Tim in trouble with the San Diego Sheriff's Dept. when he released evidence (prior to mainstream media) in the Chelsea King case & when Steph was identifying himself as a member of Search and Rescue when the King case & when the McStay family went missing. SAR issued a cease and desist order on Steph Watts & various media organizations, such as Nancy Grace, GVS, etc.

Very interesting, thanks for posting this response and link. I really didn't know anything about this guy, except that google searches on JVDS in the past few days when the news broke, landed me on his website and again today, where I caught what he posted about the new search.

I find it interesting that if he really is as bad as stated in that article, that Tim would continue to work with him, if he indeed is lol. I guess we'll soon find out.

My daughter loves to gamble. She doesn't get to do it often, but she thinks it's a lot of fun. She has spent time in SA and tells me that kids don't go out till very late (midnight would be considered early). It's just a different way of life. I don't fault Stephany for going out on a Saturday night. That's what kids do. She just met the wrong person!!

The nightlife for many young adults tends to begin at an hour that is based upon the last call. Here young adults partaking in nightlife type activities typically begin to arrive anywhere from 11:00 PM (on the early side) forward. Last call is 4:00 AM.

Lima is a major city and capital. I would expect nightlife begins at a similar hour.

A thought: If he did turn himself in to Chilean authorities, then that would explain why he was not handcuffed in those pictures.

Initially I understood he was in a taxi and didn't offer any resistance to the Chilean authorities. I also think there's a problem with some of these translations. :waitasec:

I have been following this case since yesterday, and it seems there is.....A LOT that IS NOT on the videos...snipped out...and A LOT of the translation is NOT CORRECT...making me throughly CONFUSED....I guess I am not alone on this...

In the days ahead, things will begin to bcome more clear....

But for Joran, he KNOWS STRAIGHT where he is headed....

Welcome back Nightowl! Respectfully, it is so confusing at this point, I don't think we know what the murder weapon is....headboard of bed, baseball bat, tennis racket....However, we have frequently taken tennis rackets with us to trips out of the country and scuba gear....a baseball bat, not so much...but that's just us. I look forward to more details! Also, I would have expected that Joran would say she wasn't dead when he left. Ok, now I'm really out of here! Later guys!

I was thinking maybe he left it behind because, if it were used to commit the crime, he'd broken it or messed it up beyond being useable to play tennis again. Who knows, I'm just glad he didn't take it with him.

Thank you. It appears the lawyer is an old classmate of Joran father's. Joran called him while still on the run, and after he was arrested in Chile.

I, too, caught the bit about them walking from the casino to his hotel. But then they had already said she drove her car to the hotel.

We have heard that he took her car (a jeep cherokee) and abandoned it some 50 blocks away from the hotel.

So, we are grappling with another inconsistency - did they WALK to the hotel from the casino or not? Where exactly was her car and do we know that he did drive it?

Yep, here we go again! Could there be more than one occassion that Stephany accompanied JVDS around Lima casinos?

I found it interesting that they found Cambodian and Bolivian money in his possession.

On one of the threads (I may have imagined it), I believe someone posted an old copy of his passport. For his age, he had traveled widely.

I read on the earlier link to Steph's page that he is reporting live from Aruba tonight and wondered how a free-lance blogger could afford to do that.

lol, I wonder how all these people do so much international travel so it's not meant to be specific or personal about that blogger. I am like most other Americans - having trouble financing any kind of travel these days.
