90% of the US hates Tacopina. I think it's a wash. JMO :D

Seriously... he hasn't faired real well with a lot of his cases. Melanie MacGuire comes to mind. And I've read several times that 'he doesn't have a good relationship with the family now'.

He's just eye candy for me. The only way it's possible, though, is when I hit the mute button. Otherwise Tacopina is uglier than sin. Sorry Mods!:blushing:

Didn't the ME say she wasn't drunk? Did he say whether there were drugs in her system?
No she was not drunk, haven't heard anything about drugs.

And why? I think 90% of the US hates Joran. What does that do to Joe's popularity as a lawyer?

I believe he is going for national name recognition rather than wanting to be loved.

A lot of people know Mark Geragos for the same reason.

There hasn't been much discussion about the date rape drug on WS, or I missed it. How do others think he managed to get this in her? Her father said there were wrappings from drugs in her car? Did she take them willingly, and if not, how did he do it? Any ideas?

I just googled GHB wrappings and couldn't find anything other than GHB is usually delivered in liquid form by the cap fulls and is usually mix with some other legal drinking liquid (and it's tasteless). Doesn't make sense that her dad would say that unless there are other forms of date rape drugs.

I don't have any experience with it, so maybe one of our other WS's has some knowledge.

Mark Fuhrman shows video of similar room to 309. Room is very small: bed, nightstand, table w/TV & stereo. Walls are tile (so hard surface). Bed is hard wood frame with mattress on top. Window has bars.

Important: MF says there's a bank of TVs showing video of all the floors at front desk. Very obvious.

The link I posted earlier today with pics of the rooms at Hotel Tac also had a description of the Hotel being "alternative lifestyle" friendly. I thought it was odd to promote that. Then my mind went to a dark place ala I wonder what kind of alternative guest they get there (i.e., S & M, all kind of crazy fetishes out there). I dunno.

I'm sure whoever noticed loud arguing/fighting/screaming or whatever coming from room 309 was able to pinpoint a specific time. At least I hope so.

The "purse" has the words - flower power peace and love on it according to JC. Hopefully, family or girlfriends have identified it as belonging to SR.

would 15K be worth it to nail your daughter's murderer?

Yep...for me at least. Everyone's different, but there's no $ value on my child's body...dead or alive.

Like I said, everyone's different, but I can tell you after my son's best friend was murdered, in front of him, I was willing to give my life and every dime I owed for an "attempt" at justice...and the victim wasn't even "my" child (although just like mine)! Fortunately, after several very long years, justice was served - but at no time did I ever think "enough is enough" re: what I would do to try to bring some resolve for my son and his friend's family.

As wrong as it might've seemed to many others (including some of my own family) there were no limits for me.

I wonder if Stephany knew of the Natalee Holloway case prior to meeting Joran.

IMO...I think so.

They said Stephany was quite aware of the dangers of traveling alone, leaving your drink unattended, not being in a group, etc.

She had left with her friends and came back alone (just as Joran had done)
I feel her interest in gambling overrode her sense of security.

Joran most likely had borrowed money from her & he asked for a ride to his hotel in order to supposively pay her back. In the van, he gave her GHB...Saying it was a sleep-aid.
As a gay woman, she may have felt comfortable staying in his room for the night.

FOLLOW the MONEY
Joran was broke
He needed big money in order to continue his Tourament gambling.
His interest in her was the money.
JMO.

Dumb question. Is it possible they could be forced to move the trial out of Peru because obviously he won't get a fair trial there because of the all the publicity?

I'm just confused because yesterday he was quoted saying the family was searching for a competant attorney. I just found that to be funny and now this...HA.

MF showed a diagram provided by police of the crime scene showing the location and position of Stephany's body. It's different than the one shown on Nancy Grace. Does anyone have a link?

Or Joran could have stolen it from a female gambler.

He clearly said on Geraldo that he was not on good terms with JVS nor his family. Speechless...there are no words.

JT at 3:55 mark interview with GVS. JT called Joran a sick kid, sociopath and despicable. He called Paulus a "simpleton".

I don't think "alternative lifestyle" friendly would be used in SA to imply same-sex partners (don't think that would be considered an alternative in a major city). Might be wrong, though. Wonder if implies more than two adult individuals would be permitted in the room.

I'm confused as well.

He was asked a couple of days ago if he was going to represent Joran in Peru and he said no. In another interview he said that Joran had "changed", implying that it was not for the better.

Also, in another article in a Peruvian paper he was referred to as "Josephine Tacopina". And he was repeatedly referred to as "she".

I got a nice chuckle out of that.

what about the other woman that phoned JVS from casino 2 days after he left?
Was she also in the room before???
That phone call which led to finding Stephany is interesting!

Interesting, in deed! Especially considering Tacopina's "exclusive interview" comments:

snipped>>

“At this stage I wouldn’t agree to be his attorney because the Joran of today has gone down a very disturbing path in life,” he said.

“The only reason I got involved in the case is because we did a two month investigation and believed he had no involvement in the murder or disappearance in Aruba.

“However his behavior over the last two and a half years has made me believe he is not the same person I knew."
